四

1 　それからイエスは、聖霊に導かれて荒野にお出かけになりました。悪魔に試されるためでした。　2 イエスはそこで、まる四十日間、何一つ口にされなかったので、空腹を覚えられました。　3 その時です、悪魔が誘いかけてきたのは。　「どうだい。　ひとつ、ここに転がっている石をパンに変えてみたら？　そうすりゃあ、あんたが神の子だということも一目瞭然だろうが。」
4 　しかしイエスは、お答えになりました。　「それは違う。　聖書（旧約）には、『人はただパンだけで生きるのではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つのことばによる』と書いてある。　わたしたちは、神のすべてのことばに従うべきなのです。」
5 　それから悪魔は、イエスをエルサレムに連れて行き、神殿の一番高い所に立たせて言いました。　6 「さあ、ここから飛び降りてみろ。そうすりゃあ、あんたが神の子だということがわかるだろうよ。　聖書（旧約）に、『神は、御使いを送って、あなたを支えさせ、あなたが岩の上に落ちて砕かれることのないように守られる』と、はっきり書いてあるんだから。」
7 　イエスは言い返されました。　「『あなたの神である主を試してはならない』とも書いてあるではないですか。」
8 　次に悪魔は、非常に高い山の頂上にイエスを連れて行きました。そして、世界の国々とその繁栄ぶりとを見せ、　9 「さあさあ、ひざまずいて、このおれ様を拝みさえすりゃあ、これを全部あんたにやるよ」とそそのかしました。
10 　「立ち去れ、サタン！　『神である主だけを礼拝し、主にだけ従え』と聖書（旧約）に書いてあるではないか。」イエスは悪魔を一喝なさいました。
11 　すると、悪魔は退散し、御使いたちが来て、イエスに仕えました。
イエス、教え始める
12 　イエスは、ヨハネが捕らえられたと聞くと、ユダヤを去って、ガリラヤのナザレにお帰りになり、　13 まもなく、ゼブルンとナフタリに近い、ガリラヤ湖畔のカペナウムに移られました。　14 これは、イザヤの預言が実現するためでした。
15-16 「ゼブルンとナフタリの地、海沿いの道、
ヨルダン川の向こう岸、
多くの外国人が住んでいる北ガリラヤ。
そこで暗やみの中にうずくまっていた人たちは、
大きな光を見た。
死の陰の地に座っていた彼らの上に、
光が差した。」
17 　その時から、イエスは教えを宣べ伝え始められました。「悔い改めて神に立ち返りなさい。　天国が近づいているから。」
18 　ある日、イエスが、ガリラヤ湖の岸辺を歩いておられると、シモン〔別名ペテロ〕とアンデレの二人の兄弟が舟に乗り、網で漁をしているのに出会いました。　彼らは漁師でした。
19 　イエスが、「わたしについて来なさい。　人間をとる漁師にしてあげよう」と声をおかけになると、　20 二人はすぐに網を捨て、イエスについて行きました。
21 　しばらく行ったところで、今度は別の二人の兄弟ヤコブとヨハネが、父のゼベダイといっしょに、舟の中で網を修繕しているのを見つけ、そこでも、ついて来るようにと声をおかけになりました。　22 彼らはすぐ仕事をやめ、父をあとに残して、イエスについて行きました。
23 　イエスはガリラヤ中を旅して、ユダヤ人の会堂で教え、あらゆる場所で、天国についてのすばらしい知らせを宣べ伝え、さらに、あらゆる種類の病気や病弱を治されました。　24 このイエスの奇蹟の評判は、ガリラヤの外にまで広がったので、シリヤのような遠方からも、人々は病人を連れてやって来ました。　その病気や痛みがどのようなものであろうと、悪霊に取りつかれた人であれ、てんかんの人であれ、中風の人であれ、一人残らず治るのです。　25 こうして、イエスがどこに行かれても、たいへんな数の群衆があとについて行きました。　それは、ガリラヤ、デカポリス、エルサレム、ユダヤのあらゆる所から来た人々で、中にはヨルダン川の向こうから来た人もいました。山上の教え

Matthew 4

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered.3 And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.5 Then the devil taketh him into the holy city; and he set him on the pinnacle of the temple,6 and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, Again it is written, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.8 Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;9 and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.11 Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

12 Now when he heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee;13 and leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali:14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

15 The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, Toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,

16 The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up.

17 From that time began Jesus to preach, and to say, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

18 And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers.19 And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of men.20 And they straightway left the nets, and followed him.21 And going on from thence he saw two other brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.22 And they straightway left the boat and their father, and followed him.

23 And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness among the people.24 And the report of him went forth into all Syria: and they brought unto him all that were sick, holden with divers diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptic, and palsied; and he healed them.25 And there followed him great multitudes from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judaea and from beyond the Jordan.
