Die Versuchung Jesu

1 Danach wurde Jesus vom Geist ´Gottes` in die Wüste geführt t, weil er dort vom Teufel versucht werden sollte.2 Nachdem er vierzig Tage und Nächte gefastet hatte, war er sehr hungrig.
3 Da trat der Versucher an ihn heran und sagte: »Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, dann befiehl, dass diese Steine hier zu Brot werden!«4 Aber Jesus gab ihm zur Antwort: »Es heißt in der Schrift: >Der Mensch lebt tnicht nur von Brot, sondern von jedem Wort, das aus Gottes Mund kommt.< t«
5 Daraufhin ging der Teufel mit ihm in die Heilige Stadt, stellte ihn auf einen Vorsprung des Tempeldaches t6 und sagte: »Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, dann stürz dich hinunter! Denn es heißt in der Schrift:
>Er wird dir seine Engel schicken t;
sie werden dich auf ihren Händen tragen,
damit du mit deinem Fuß nicht an einen Stein stößt.< t«
7 Jesus entgegnete: »In der Schrift heißt es aber auch: >Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht herausfordern!< t«
8 Schließlich ging der Teufel mit ihm auf einen sehr hohen Berg, zeigte ihm alle Reiche der Welt mit ihrer Herrlichkeit9 und sagte: »Das alles will ich dir geben, wenn du dich vor mir niederwirfst und mich anbetest.«10 Darauf sagte Jesus zu ihm: »Weg mit dir, Satan! Denn es heißt in der Schrift: >Den Herrn, deinen Gott, sollst du anbeten; ihm allein sollst du dienen.< t«
11 Da ließ der Teufel von ihm ab. Und Engel kamen zu ihm und dienten tihm.

Jesu erstes öffentliches Wirken in Galiläa

12 Als Jesus hörte, dass Johannes gefangen genommen worden war, zog er sich nach Galiläa zurück.13 Allerdings blieb er nicht in Nazaret, sondern wohnte von da an in Kafarnaum, ´einer Stadt` am See, im Gebiet von Sebulon und Naftali.14 So erfüllte sich, was durch den Propheten Jesaja vorausgesagt worden war:
15 »Das Land Sebulon und das Land Naftali,
das Gebiet gegen den See hin t,
die Gegend jenseits des Jordans t,
das Galiläa der ´heidnischen` Völker -
16 das Volk, das in der Finsternis lebt,
sieht ein großes Licht;
über denen, die im Land der Todesschatten wohnen,
ist ein helles Licht aufgegangen.« t
17 Von da an begann Jesus zu verkünden: »Kehrt um! Denn das Himmelreich ist nahe.«

Die Berufung der ersten Jünger

18 Als Jesus am See von Galiläa entlangging, sah er zwei Fischer, die auf dem See ihr Netz auswarfen. Es waren Brüder, Simon, auch Petrus genannt, und Andreas.19 Jesus sagte zu ihnen: »Kommt, folgt mir nach! Ich will euch zu Menschenfischern machen.«20 Sofort ließen sie ihre Netze liegen und folgten ihm.
21 Als er von dort weiterging, sah er wieder zwei Brüder, Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und Johannes; sie waren mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus im Boot und brachten ihre Netze in Ordnung. Jesus forderte sie auf, mit ihm zu kommen. t22 Und sofort ließen sie das Boot und ihren Vater zurück und folgten Jesus.

Der Dienst Jesu und seine Wirkung

23 Jesus zog durch ganz Galiläa; er lehrte in den tSynagogen, verkündete die Botschaft tvom Reich ´Gottes` und heilte alle Kranken und Leidenden tim Volk.24 So wurde er ´über Galiläa hinaus` in ganz Syrien bekannt. Man brachte alle Leidenden zu ihm, Menschen, die von den verschiedensten Krankheiten und Beschwerden geplagt waren, auch Besessene, Epileptiker und Gelähmte, und er machte sie gesund.25 Große Menschenmengen folgten ihm aus Galiläa und dem Zehnstädtegebiet, aus Jerusalem und Judäa und aus der Gegend jenseits des Jordans.

Matthew 4

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered.3 And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.5 Then the devil taketh him into the holy city; and he set him on the pinnacle of the temple,6 and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, Again it is written, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.8 Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;9 and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.11 Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

12 Now when he heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee;13 and leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali:14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

15 The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, Toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,

16 The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up.

17 From that time began Jesus to preach, and to say, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

18 And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers.19 And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of men.20 And they straightway left the nets, and followed him.21 And going on from thence he saw two other brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.22 And they straightway left the boat and their father, and followed him.

23 And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness among the people.24 And the report of him went forth into all Syria: and they brought unto him all that were sick, holden with divers diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptic, and palsied; and he healed them.25 And there followed him great multitudes from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judaea and from beyond the Jordan.
