Ispitirile lui Isus

1 Atunci Isus a fost dus de Duhul în pustie, ca să fie ispitit de diavolult.2 Isus a postit timp de patruzeci de zile și patruzeci de nopțit și apoi a flămânzit.

3 Atunci ispititorul s-a apropiat de El și I-a zis:
– Dacăt ești Fiul lui Dumnezeu, poruncește ca aceste pietre să devină pâini!

4 Însă Isus i-a răspuns:
– Este scris:
„Omul nu trăiește numai cu pâine,
ci cu orice cuvânt
care iese din gura lui Dumnezeu“t.

5 Atunci diavolul L-a dus în sfânta cetate, L-a pus să stea pe streașina Templului

6 și I-a zis:
– Dacă ești Fiul lui Dumnezeu, aruncă-Te jos, căci este scris:
„El le va porunci îngerilor Săi cu privire la Tine“

și
„Ei Te vor purta pe brațele lor,
ca nu cumva să-Ți lovești piciorul de vreo piatră!“t

7 Isus i-a răspuns:
– De asemenea este scris: „Să nu-L ispitești pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău!“t

8 Diavolul L-a mai dus pe un munte foarte înalt și I-a arătat toate regatele lumii și splendoarea lor.

9 Apoi I-a zis:
– Toate acestea Ți le voi da Ție dacă te vei prosterna și mi te vei închina.

10 Atunci Isus i-a răspuns:
– Pleacă, Satan, căci este scris:
„Domnului, Dumnezeul tău, să te închini
și numai Lui să-I slujești!“t

11 Atunci diavolul a plecat de la El. Și iată că niște îngeri au venit să-I slujească.

Începutul lucrării lui Isus în Galileea

12 Când a auzit Isus că Ioan fusese închis, a plecat în Galileea.13 A părăsit Nazaretul și S-a dus să locuiască în Capernaum, lângă maret, în ținutul lui Zabulon și al lui Neftali,14 ca să se împlinească ce a fost spus prin profetul Isaia, care zice:

15 „Ținut al lui Zabulon și ținut al lui Neftali,
calea spre maret, dincolo de Iordan,
Galileea neamurilor!

16 Poporul care locuia în întuneric
a văzut o mare lumină!
Peste cei ce locuiau în țara umbrei morții
a răsărit o lumină!“t

17 De atunci încolo, Isus a început să predice și să zică: „Pocăiți-vă, pentru că Împărăția Cerurilor este aproape!“

Chemarea primilor apostoli

18 În timp ce mergea pe malul Mării Galileii, Isus a văzut doi frați, pe Simon, zis Petru, și pe Andrei, fratele lui, care aruncau un năvod în mare, căci erau pescari.19 El le-a zis: „Veniți după Mine și vă voi face pescari de oameni!“20 Ei și-au lăsat imediat năvoadele și L-au urmat.

21 Mergând mai departe de acolo, El a văzut alți doi frați: pe Iacov, fiul lui Zebedei, și pe Ioan, fratele lui, care erau într-o barcă împreună cu Zebedei, tatăl lor, și își cârpeau năvoadele. Isus i-a chemat,22 iar ei au lăsat imediat barca și pe tatăl lor și L-au urmat.

Isus vindecă bolnavii

23 Isus călătorea prin toată Galileea, dând învățătură în sinagogilet lor, predicând Evangheliat Împărăției și vindecând orice boală și orice neputință care erau în popor.24 Vestea despre El s-a răspândit în toată Siriat. Oamenii îi aduceau la El pe toți cei ce sufereau de diferite boli sau dureri, pe cei demoniaci, pe cei epilepticit și pe cei paralizați, iar El îi vindeca.25 Îl urmau mulțimi mari de oameni din Galileea, din Decapolist, din Ierusalim, din Iudeea și de dincolo de Iordan.

MATTHEW 4

Jesus and the Devil

(Mark 1.12,13; Luke 4.1-13)

1  t The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert, so that the devil could test him. 2 After Jesus had gone without eatingt for 40 days and nights, he was very hungry.

3 Then the devil came to him and said, “If you are God's Son, tell these stones to turn into bread.”

4  t Jesus answered, “The Scriptures say:
‘No one can live only on food.
People need every word
that God has spoken.’ ”
5 Next, the devil took Jesus into the holy city to the highest part of the temple.

6 t The devil said, “If you are God's Son, jump off. The Scriptures say:
‘God will give his angels
orders about you.
They will catch you
in their arms,
and you won't hurt
your feet on the stones.’ ”

7  t Jesus answered, “The Scriptures also say, ‘Don't try to test the Lord your God!’ ”
8 Finally, the devil took Jesus up on a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms on earth and their power.

9 The devil said to him, “I will give all this to you, if you will bow down and worship me.”

10  t Jesus answered, “Go away Satan! The Scriptures say:
‘Worship the Lord your God
and serve only him.’ ”

11 Then the devil left Jesus, and angels came to help him.

Jesus Begins His Work

(Mark 1.14,15; Luke 4.14,15)

14 So God's promise came true, just as the prophet Isaiah had said,

15  t “Listen, lands of Zebulun
and Naphtali,
lands along the road
to the sea
and across the Jordan.
Listen Galilee,
land of the Gentiles!

16 Although your people
live in darkness,
they will see
a bright light.
Although they live
in the shadow of death,
a light will shine
on them.”

17  t Then Jesus started preaching, “Turn back to God! The kingdom of heaven will soon be here.”t

Jesus Chooses //Four Fishermen

(Mark 1.16-20; Luke 5.1-11)

20 Right then the two brothers dropped their nets and went with him.
21 Jesus walked on until he saw James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They were in a boat with their father, mending their nets. Jesus asked them to come with him.

22 At once they left the boat and their father and went with Jesus.

Jesus Teaches, Preaches, //and Heals

(Luke 6.17-19)

24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people with every kind of sickness or disease were brought to him. Some of them had a lot of demons in them, others were thought to be crazy, t and still others could not walk. But Jesus healed them all.
25 Large crowds followed Jesus from Galilee and the region around the ten cities known as Decapolis.t They also came from Jerusalem, Judea, and from across the Jordan River.
