Die Bergpredigt - Maßstäbe, die herausfordern

1 Als Jesus die Menschenmenge sah, stieg er auf einen Berg. Er setzte sich, und seine Jünger traten zu ihm.2 Da begann er, sie zu unterweisen:

Wen Jesus glücklich nennt

3 (Lukas 6, 20-23)
t»Glücklich sind, die erkennen, wie arm sie vor Gott sind, denn ihnen gehört die neue Welt Gottes.

4 tGlücklich sind die Trauernden, denn sie werden Trost finden.

5 tGlücklich sind die Friedfertigen, denn sie werden die ganze Erde besitzen.

6 Glücklich sind, die nach Gerechtigkeit hungern und dürsten, denn sie sollen satt werden.

7 tGlücklich sind die Barmherzigen, denn sie werden Barmherzigkeit erfahren.

8 tGlücklich sind, die ein reines Herz haben, denn sie werden Gott sehen.

9 tGlücklich sind, die Frieden stiften, denn Gott wird sie seine Kinder nennen.

10 tGlücklich sind, die verfolgt werden, weil sie nach Gottes Willen leben. Denn ihnen gehört Gottes neue Welt.

11 tGlücklich könnt ihr sein, wenn ihr verachtet, verfolgt und verleumdet werdet, weil ihr mir nachfolgt.

12 tJa, freut euch und jubelt, denn im Himmel werdet ihr dafür reich belohnt werden! Genauso haben sie die Propheten früher auch verfolgt.«

Salz und Licht: die Aufgabe der Jünger Jesu in der Welt

13 (Markus 4, 21; 9, 50; Lukas 8, 16; 11, 33; 14, 34-35)
t»Ihr seid für die Welt wie Salz. Wenn das Salz aber fade geworden ist, wodurch soll es seine Würzkraft wiedergewinnen? Es ist nutzlos geworden, man schüttet es weg, und die Leute treten darauf herum.

14 tIhr seid das Licht, das die Welt erhellt. Eine Stadt, die hoch auf dem Berg liegt, kann nicht verborgen bleiben.15 Man zündet ja auch keine Öllampe an und stellt sie unter einen Eimer. Im Gegenteil: Man stellt sie so auf, dass sie allen im Haus Licht gibt.16 tGenauso soll euer Licht vor allen Menschen leuchten. Sie werden eure guten Taten sehen und euren Vater im Himmel dafür loben.«

Gottes Gebote neu erfüllen

17 (Lukas 16, 17)
t»Meint nur nicht, ich sei gekommen, das Gesetz und die Worte der Propheten aufzuheben. Ich werde vielmehr beides bekräftigen und erfüllen.

18 Denn das sage ich euch: Auch der kleinste Buchstabe im Gesetz Gottes behält seine Gültigkeit, solange Himmel und Erde bestehen.19 tWenn jemand auch nur das geringste Gebot Gottes für ungültig erklärt oder andere dazu verleitet, der wird in Gottes neuer Welt nichts bedeuten. Wer aber anderen Gottes Gebote weitersagt und sich selbst danach richtet, der wird in Gottes neuer Welt großes Ansehen haben.20 tIch warne euch: Wenn ihr das Gesetz Gottes nicht besser erfüllt als die Pharisäer und Schriftgelehrten, kommt ihr nicht in Gottes neue Welt.«

Versöhnung mit dem Gegner

21 (Lukas 12, 57-59)
»Wie ihr wisst, wurde unseren Vorfahren gesagt: ›Du sollst nicht töten! Wer aber einen Mord begeht, muss vor ein Gericht.‹t22 tDoch ich sage euch: Schon wer auf seinen Bruder zornig ist, den erwartet das Gericht. Wer zu seinem Bruder sagt: ›Du Idiot!‹, der wird vom Obersten Gericht verurteilt werden, und wer ihn verflucht, dem ist das Feuer der Hölle sicher.

23 Wenn du eine Opfergabe zum Altar bringst und dir fällt plötzlich ein, dass dein Bruder dir etwas vorzuwerfen hat,24 tdann lass dein Opfer am Altar zurück, geh zu deinem Bruder und versöhne dich mit ihm. Erst danach bring Gott dein Opfer dar.25 Setz alles daran, dich noch auf dem Weg zum Gericht mit deinem Gegner zu einigen. Sonst wird der Richter dich verurteilen, und der Gerichtsdiener wird dich ins Gefängnis stecken.26 Und ich sage dir: Von dort wirst du nicht eher wieder herauskommen, bis du auch den letzten Rest deiner Schuld bezahlt hast.«

Kampf gegen die Sünde

27 (Matthäus 18, 8-9; Markus 9, 43-48)
»Ihr wisst, dass es im Gesetz heißt: ›Du sollst nicht die Ehe brechen!‹t28 Ich sage euch aber: Schon wer eine Frau mit begehrlichen Blicken ansieht, der hat im Herzen mit ihr die Ehe gebrochen.

29 tWenn dich also dein rechtes Auge zur Sünde verführt, dann reiß es heraus und wirf es weg! Besser, du verlierst eins deiner Glieder, als dass du unversehrt in die Hölle geworfen wirst.30 Und wenn dich deine rechte Hand zum Bösen verführt, so hack sie ab und wirf sie weg! Es ist besser, verstümmelt zu sein, als unversehrt in die Hölle geworfen zu werden.«

Ehescheidung

31 (Matthäus 19, 9; Markus 10, 11-12; Lukas 16, 18)
»Bisher hieß es: ›Wer sich von seiner Frau trennen will, soll ihr eine Scheidungsurkunde geben.‹t32 tIch sage euch aber: Wer sich von seiner Frau trennt, obwohl sie ihn nicht betrogen hat, der treibt sie zum Ehebruch. Und wer eine geschiedene Frau heiratet, der begeht Ehebruch.«

Keine Beteuerungen!

33 »Ihr kennt auch diese Anweisung des Gesetzes: ›Du sollst keinen Meineid schwören und alles halten, was du vor Gott versprochen hast.‹t34 tIch sage euch aber: Schwört überhaupt nicht! Schwört weder beim Himmel - denn er ist Gottes Thron -35 noch bei der Erde - denn sie ist der Schemel, auf dem seine Füße ruhen. Beruft euch auch nicht auf Jerusalem, denn sie ist die Stadt Gottes.t36 Verbürge dich auch nicht mit deinem Kopf für etwas, denn du kannst ja nicht einmal ein einziges Haar weiß oder schwarz wachsen lassen.37 tSag einfach ›Ja‹ oder ›Nein‹. Alle anderen Beteuerungen zeigen nur, dass du dich vom Bösen bestimmen lässt.«

Vergeltung durch Liebe

38 (Lukas 6, 27-30.32-36)
»Es heißt auch: ›Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn!‹t39 tIch sage euch aber: Leistet keine Gegenwehr, wenn man euch Böses antut! Wenn jemand dir eine Ohrfeige gibt, dann halte die andere Wange auch noch hin!40 tWenn einer dich vor Gericht bringen will, um dein Hemd zu bekommen, so gib ihm auch noch den Mantel!41 Und wenn einer von dir verlangt, eine Meile mit ihm zu gehen, dann geh zwei Meilen mit ihm!42 tGib jedem, der dich um etwas bittet, und weise keinen ab, der etwas von dir leihen will.

43 Es heißt bei euch: ›Liebt eure Freunde und hasst eure Feinde!‹t44 tIch sage aber: Liebt eure Feinde und betet für alle, die euch verfolgen!45 So erweist ihr euch als Kinder eures Vaters im Himmel. Denn er lässt seine Sonne für Böse wie für Gute scheinen, und er lässt es regnen für Fromme und Gottlose.46 Wollt ihr etwa noch dafür belohnt werden, dass ihr die Menschen liebt, die euch auch lieben? Das tun sogar die Zolleinnehmer, die sonst nur auf ihren Vorteil aus sindt!47 Wenn ihr nur euren Freunden liebevoll begegnet, ist das etwas Besonderes? Das tun auch die, die von Gott nichts wissen.

48 tIhr aber sollt so vollkommen sein wie euer Vater im Himmel.«

Matthew 5

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.

10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.11 Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.14 Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.15 Neither do men light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the stand; and it shineth unto all that are in the house.16 Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.20 For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

21 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:22 but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.23 If therefore thou art offering thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee,24 leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art with him in the way; lest haply the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.26 Verily I say unto thee, thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the last farthing.

27 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery:28 but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.29 And if thy right eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.30 And if thy right hand causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body go into hell.31 It was said also, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:32 but I say unto you, that every one that putteth away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery.

33 Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:34 but I say unto you, swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God;35 nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.37 But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one.

38 Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:39 but I say unto you, resist not him that is evil: but whosoever smiteth thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.40 And if any man would go to law with thee, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him two.42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

43 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy:44 but I say unto you, love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;45 that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.46 For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the Gentiles the same?48 Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
