1 فلما رأى الجمهور صعد إلى الجبل وجلس. واقترب منه تلاميذه،2 فأخذ يعلمهم وقال:3 "هنيئا للمساكين في الروح، لأن لهم مملكة الله.4 هنيئا للحزانى، لأنهم يتعزون.5 هنيئا للودعاء، لأنهم يرثون الأرض.6 هنيئا لمن يجوعون ويعطشون إلى الصلاح، لأنهم يشبعون.7 هنيئا للرحماء، لأنهم يرحمون.8 هنيئا لمن قلوبهم نقية، لأنهم يشاهدون الله.9 هنيئا لمن يصنعون السلام، لأنهم يدعون أبناء الله.10 هنيئا لمن يضطهدهم الناس من أجل الصلاح، لأن لهم نصيبا في مملكة الله.11 هنيئا لكم إذا شتموكم واضطهدوكم وافتروا عليكم لأنكم أتباعي،12 افرحوا وابتهجوا، لأن أجركم في السماء عظيم. فإنهم اضطهدوا الأنبياء الذين قبلكم بنفس الطريقة.13 "أنتم ملح الأرض. لكن إذا فقد الملح ملوحته، لا يمكن أن نرد له طعمه، وهو لا يصلح لشيء، بل يرمى في الخارج ويدوسه الناس.14 أنتم نور العالم. مدينة مبنية على جبل لا تخفى عن الأنظار.15 ولا أحد يشعل المصباح ويضعه تحت المكيال! بل يضعه على المنارة فيضيء لكل من في الدار.16 وبنفس الطريقة، يجب أن يضيء نوركم قدام الناس، لكي يروا أعمالكم الحسنة ويسبحوا أباكم الذي في السماء.17 لا تظنوا أني جئت لألغي التوراة أو كتب الأنبياء، أنا جئت لا لألغيها بل لأكملها.18 أقول لكم الحق، ما دامت السماء والأرض موجودتين، فلن يسقط من الكتاب حرف واحد أو نقطة واحدة، بل يتم كل شيء.19 فمن خالف ولو أصغر وصية من هذه الوصايا، وعلم الناس أن يفعلوا مثله، يكون له أحط مكانة في مملكة الله. أما من عمل بها وعلمها، تكون له مكانة عالية في مملكة الله.20 فإني أقول لكم: إن كان صلاحكم لا يزيد عن صلاح الفقهاء والفريسيين، فلن تدخلوا مملكة الله.21 "سمعتم أنه قيل للناس في قديم الزمان: لا تقتل، ومن قتل يواجه القضاء.22 أما أنا فأقول لكم: من غضب على أخيه يواجه القضاء. ومن قال لأخيه: يا أحمق، يواجه المجلس الأعلى، ومن قال له: يا تافه، يواجه نار جهنم.23 فإن قدمت هديتك عند منصة القربان، وهناك تذكرت أن أخاك له شيء عليك،24 فاترك هديتك هناك عند المنصة ، واذهب أولا وصالح أخاك، ثم تعال وقدم هديتك.25 حاول أن ترضي خصمك بسرعة، حتى وأنت معه في الطريق إلى المحكمة، لئلا يسلمك إلى القاضي، والقاضي يسلمك إلى الشرطي فتوضع في السجن.26 أقول لك الحق، لن تخرج من هناك حتى تدفع آخر فلس عليك.27 "سمعتم أنه قيل: لا تزن.28 أما أنا فأقول لكم: من نظر إلى امرأة بشهوة فقد زنى بها في قلبه.29 فإن كانت عينك اليمنى تسبب لك أن تسقط، اقلعها وارمها بعيدا، فأحسن لك أن تفقد عضوا منك ولا ترمى بجملتك في الجحيم.30 وإن كانت يدك اليمنى تسبب لك أن تسقط، اقطعها وارمها بعيدا، فأحسن لك أن تفقد عضوا منك ولا تذهب بجملتك إلى الجحيم.31 "وقيل: من طلق امرأته فيجب أن يعطيها شهادة طلاق.32 أما أنا فأقول لكم: كل من طلق امرأته وهي لم تزن، يجعلها زانية، ومن يتزوج بمطلقة يزني.33 "وسمعتم أيضا أنه قيل للناس في قديم الزمان: لا تتراجع عن وعدك، بل أعط الله ما حلفت به.34 أما أنا فأقول لكم: لا تحلفوا أبدا، لا بالسماء لأنها عرش الله،35 ولا بالأرض لأنها المكان الذي يضع فيه قدميه، ولا بالقدس لأنها مدينة الملك العظيم.36 ولا تحلف برأسك، لأنك لا تقدر أن تجعل حتى شعرة واحدة بيضاء أو سوداء.37 بل عندما يكون قصدك نعم، تقول نعم، وعندما يكون قصدك لا، تقول لا. وما زاد على هذا فهو من الشرير.38 "سمعتم أنه قيل: عين بعين وسن بسن.39 أما أنا فأقول لكم: لا تنتقموا من الذي يسيء إليكم، بل من ضربك على خدك الأيمن، فحول له الآخر.40 ومن أراد أن يشتكيك ليأخذ قميصك، فاترك له ثوبك أيضا.41 ومن أراد أن يسخرك لتمشي كيلومترا واحدا، فاذهب معه كيلومترين.42 أعط من سألك، ولا ترد من أراد أن يقترض منك.43 "سمعتم أنه قيل: أحب الآخرين، واكره عدوك.44 أما أنا فأقول لكم: أحبوا أعداءكم، وادعوا بالخير للذين يضطهدونكم.45 لكي تكونوا أبناء أبيكم الذي في السماء، لأنه يشرق شمسه على الأشرار والصالحين ويمطر على الأتقياء والظالمين.46 فإن كنتم تحبون من يحبكم، فما هو أجركم؟ حتى جباة الضرائب يفعلون هذا!47 وإن كنتم لا تسلمون إلا على إخوانكم، فهل في هذا شيء غير عادي؟ حتى الذين لا يعرفون الله يفعلون هذا!48 إذن كونوا كاملين كما أن أباكم السمائي كامل.

MATTHEW 5

The Sermon on the Mount

1 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the side of a mountain and sat down.t

Blessings

(Luke 6.20-23)

2 and he taught them:

3 God blesses those people
who depend only on him.
They belong to the kingdom
of heaven!t

4  t God blesses those people
who grieve.
They will find comfort!

5  t God blesses those people
who are humble.
The earth will belong
to them!

6  t God blesses those people
who want to obey himt
more than to eat or drink.
They will be given
what they want!

7 God blesses those people
who are merciful.
They will be treated
with mercy!

8  t God blesses those people
whose hearts are pure.
They will see him!

9 God blesses those people
who make peace.
They will be called
his children!

10  t God blesses those people
who are treated badly
for doing right.
They belong to the kingdom
of heaven.t
11  t God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you, and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me.

12 t Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven. People did these same things to the prophets who lived long ago.

Salt and Light

(Mark 9.50; Luke 14.34,35)

13  t You are the salt for everyone on earth. But if salt no longer tastes like salt, how can it make food salty? All it is good for is to be thrown out and walked on.
14  t You are the light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden, 15 t and no one lights a lamp and puts it under a clay pot. Instead, it is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to everyone in the house.

16 t Make your light shine, so others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

The Law of Moses

18 t Heaven and earth may disappear. But I promise you not even a period or comma will ever disappear from the Law. Everything written in it must happen.
19 If you reject even the least important command in the Law and teach others to do the same, you will be the least important person in the kingdom of heaven. But if you obey and teach others its commands, you will have an important place in the kingdom.

20 You must obey God's commands better than the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law obey them. If you don't, I promise you will never get into the kingdom of heaven.

Anger

22 But I promise you if you are angry with someone, t you will have to stand trial. If you call someone a fool, you will be taken to court. And if you say that someone is worthless, you will be in danger of the fires of hell.
23 So if you are about to place your gift on the altar and remember that someone is angry with you,

24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. Make peace with that person, then come back and offer your gift to God.
25 Before you are dragged into court, make friends with the person who has accused you of doing wrong. If you don't, you will be handed over to the judge and then to the officer who will put you in jail.

26 I promise you will not get out until you have paid the last cent you owe.

Marriage

30 t If your right hand causes you to sin, chop it off and throw it away! It is better to lose one part of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Divorce

(Matthew 19.9; Mark 10.11,12; Luke 16.18)

32 t But I tell you not to divorce your wife unless she has committed some terrible sexual sin.t If you divorce her, you will cause her to be unfaithful, just as any man who marries her is guilty of taking another man's wife.

Promises

37 When you make a promise, say only “Yes” or “No.” Anything else comes from the devil.

Revenge

(Luke 6.29,30)

42 When people ask you for something, give it to them. When they want to borrow money, lend it to them.

Love
