마태복음서 6
올바른 자선 행위
1 “너희는 남에게 보이려고 의로운 일을 사람들 앞에서 하지 않도록 조심하여라. 그렇지 않으면, 너희는 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지에게서 상을 받지 못한다.
2 그러므로 네가 자선을 베풀 때에는, 위선자들이 사람들에게 칭찬을 받으려고 회당과 거리에서 그렇게 하듯이, 네 앞에 나팔을 불지 말아라. 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 그들은 자기네 상을 이미 다 받았다. 3 너는 자선을 베풀 때에는, 오른손이 하는 일을 왼손이 모르게 하여, 4 네 자선 행위를 숨겨두어라. 그리하면, 남모르게 숨어서 보시는 네 아버지께서 너에게 갚아 주실 것이다.”
예수께서 가르치신 기도
(눅 11:2-4)
5 “너희는 기도할 때에, 위선자들처럼 하지 말아라. 그들은 사람들에게 보이려고, 회당과 큰 길 모퉁이에 서서 기도하기를 좋아한다. 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 그들은 자기네 상을 이미 다 받았다. 6 너는 기도할 때에, 골방에 들어가 문을 닫고서, 숨어서 계시는 네 아버지께 기도하여라. 그리하면 숨어서 보시는 너의 아버지께서 너에게 갚아 주실 것이다.
7 너희는 기도할 때에, 이방 사람들처럼 빈말을 되풀이하지 말아라. 그들은 말을 많이 하여야만 들어주시는 줄로 생각한다. 8 그러므로 그들을 본받지 말아라. 하나님 너희 아버지께서는, 너희가 구하기 전에, 너희에게 필요한 것이 무엇인지를 알고 계신다. 9 그러므로 너희는 이렇게 기도하여라.
하늘에 계신 우리 아버지,
그 이름을 거룩하게 하여 주시며,
10 그 나라를 오게 하여 주시며, 그 뜻을 하늘에서 이루심 같이, 땅에서도 이루어 주십시오.
11 오늘 우리에게 t필요한 양식을 내려 주시고,
12 우리가 우리에게 t죄 지은 사람을 용서하여 준 것 같이 우리의 t죄를 용서하여 주시고,
13 우리를 t시험에 들지 않게 하시고, t악에서 구하여 주십시오. [[나라와 권세와 영광은 영원히 아버지의 것입니다. 아멘.]]
14 너희가 남의 잘못을 용서해 주면, 너희 하늘 아버지께서도 너희를 용서해 주실 것이다. 15 그러나 너희가 남을 용서해 주지 않으면, 너희 아버지께서도 너희의 잘못을 용서해 주지 않으실 것이다.”
올바른 금식
16 “너희는 금식할 때에, 위선자들과 같이 슬픈 기색을 띠지 말아라. 그들은 금식하는 것을 남에게 보이려고, 얼굴을 흉하게 한다. 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 그들은 자기네 상을 이미 받았다. 17 너는 금식할 때에, 머리에 기름을 바르고, 낯을 씻어라. 18 그리하여 금식하는 것을 사람들에게 드러내지 말고, 보이지 않게 숨어서 계시는 네 아버지께서 보시게 하여라. 그리하면 남모르게 숨어서 보시는 네 아버지께서 너에게 갚아 주실 것이다.”
하늘에 쌓은 보물
(눅 12:33-34)
19 “너희는 자기를 위하여 보물을 땅에다가 쌓아 두지 말아라. 땅에서는 좀이 먹고 녹이 슬어서 망가지며, 도둑들이 뚫고 들어와서 훔쳐간다. 20 그러므로 너희를 위하여 보물을 하늘에 쌓아 두어라. 거기에는 좀이 먹고 녹이 슬어서 망가지는 일이 없고, 도둑들이 뚫고 들어와서 훔쳐 가지도 못한다. 21 너의 보물이 있는 곳에, 너의 마음도 있을 것이다.”
몸의 등불
(눅 11:34-36)
22 “눈은 몸의 등불이다. 그러므로 네 눈이 성하면 네 온 몸이 밝을 것이요, 23 네 눈이 성하지 못하면 네 온 몸이 어두울 것이다. 그러므로 네 속에 있는 빛이 어두우면, 그 어둠이 얼마나 심하겠느냐?”
하나님과 재물
(눅 16:13)
24 “아무도 두 주인을 섬기지 못한다. 한쪽을 미워하고 다른 쪽을 사랑하거나, 한쪽을 중히 여기고 다른 쪽을 업신여길 것이다. 너희는 하나님과 t재물을 아울러 섬길 수 없다.”
근심과 걱정
(눅 12:22-34)
25 “그러므로 내가 너희에게 말한다. 목숨을 부지하려고 무엇을 먹을까 또는 t무엇을 마실까 걱정하지 말고, 몸을 감싸려고 무엇을 입을까 걱정하지 말아라. 목숨이 음식보다 소중하지 아니하냐? 몸이 옷보다 소중하지 아니하냐? 26 공중의 새를 보아라. 씨를 뿌리지도 않고, 거두지도 않고, 곳간에 모아들이지도 않으나, 너희의 하늘 아버지께서 그것들을 먹이신다. 너희는 새보다 귀하지 아니하냐? 27 너희 가운데서 누가, 걱정을 해서, t자기 수명을 한 순간인들 늘일 수 있느냐? 28 어찌하여 너희는 옷 걱정을 하느냐? 들의 백합화가 어떻게 자라는가 살펴보아라. 수고도 하지 않고, 길쌈도 하지 않는다. 29 그러나 내가 너희에게 말한다. 온갖 영화로 차려 입은 솔로몬도 이 꽃 하나와 같이 잘 입지는 못하였다. 30 오늘 있다가 내일 아궁이에 들어갈 들풀도 하나님께서 이와 같이 입히시거든, 하물며 너희들을 입히시지 않겠느냐? 믿음이 적은 사람들아! 31 그러므로 무엇을 먹을까, 무엇을 마실까, 무엇을 입을까, 하고 걱정하지 말아라. 32 이 모든 것은 모두 이방사람들이 구하는 것이요, 너희의 하늘 아버지께서는, 이 모든 것이 너희에게 필요하다는 것을 아신다. 33 너희는 먼저 하나님의 나라와 하나님의 의를 구하여라. 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하여 주실 것이다. 34 그러므로 내일 일을 걱정하지 말아라. 내일 걱정은 내일이 맡아서 할 것이다. t한 날의 괴로움은 그 날에 겪는 것으로 족하다.”
MATTHEW 6
Giving
1 t When you do good deeds, don't try to show off. If you do, you won't get a reward from your Father in heaven.
2 When you give to the poor, don't blow a loud horn. That's what show-offs do in the synagogues and on the street corners, because they are always looking for praise. I can assure you that they already have their reward.
3 When you give to the poor, don't let anyone know about it.t
4 Then your gift will be given in secret. Your Father knows what is done in secret and will reward you.Prayer
(Luke 11.2-4)
5 t When you pray, don't be like those show-offs who love to stand up and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners. They do this just to look good. I can assure you that they already have their reward.
6 When you pray, go into a room alone and close the door. Pray to your Father in private. He knows what is done in private and will reward you.
7 t When you pray, don't talk on and on as people do who don't know God. They think God likes to hear long prayers.
8 Don't be like them. Your Father knows what you need even before you ask.
9 You should pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
help us to honor
your name.
10 Come and set up
your kingdom,
so that everyone on earth
will obey you,
as you are obeyed
in heaven.
11 Give us our food for today.t
12 Forgive us for doing wrong,
as we forgive others.
13 Keep us from being temptedt
and protect us from evil.t
14 t t If you forgive others for the wrongs they do to you, your Father in heaven will forgive you.
15 But if you don't forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.Worshiping God //by Going without Eating
16 When you go without eating, t don't try to look gloomy as those show-offs do when they go without eating. I can assure you that they already have their reward. 17 t Instead, comb your hair and wash your face.
18 Then others won't know you are going without eating. But your Father sees what is done in private, and he will reward you.Treasures in Heaven
(Luke 12.33,34)
19 t Don't store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them. 20 t Instead, store up your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy them, and thieves cannot break in and steal them.
21 Your heart will always be where your treasure is.Light
(Luke 11.34-36)
22 Your eyes are a window for your body. When they are good, you have all the light you need.
23 But when your eyes are bad, everything is dark. If the light inside you is dark, you surely are in the dark.Money
(Luke 16.13)
24 You cannot be the slave of two masters! You will like one more than the other or be more loyal to one than the other. You cannot serve both God and money.Worry
(Luke 12.22-31)
25 I tell you not to worry about your life. Don't worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food or clothing?
26 Look at the birds in the sky! They don't plant or harvest. They don't even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren't you worth much more than birds?
27 Can worry make you live longer?t 28 Why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow. They don't work hard to make their clothes. 29 t But I tell you that Solomon with all his wealtht wasn't as well clothed as one of them.
30 God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. God will surely do even more for you! Why do you have such little faith?
31 Don't worry and ask yourselves, “Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear?” 32 Only people who don't know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows you need all of these.
33 But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.
34 Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today.
