Не судіть ближнього
1-2 «Не судіть інших, бо судитиме вас Бог так, як ви судите інших. Всевишній відміряє вам стільки ж, скільки ви відміряли іншим.
3 Чому ви бачите порошинку в оці брата свого, але не помічаєте колоди у власному оці?
4 Як же ви можете звертатися до брата з такими словами: „Дозволь вийняти порошинку з ока твого” — коли маєте колоду у власному оці?
5 Лицеміри, спочатку витягніть колоду з власного ока, а тоді й побачите, як ліпше вийняти порошинку з братового ока.
6 Не давайте святого собакам, не кидайте свиням перлів своїх, бо свині потопчуть їх, а собаки повернуться й накинуться на вас».
Просіть Отця Небесного
7 «Просіть, і Бог дасть вам, шукайте і знайдете, стукайте і вам відчинять.
8 Бо кожен, хто просить, — отримає, хто шукає, — знайде, а двері завжди відчиняться тим, хто стукає.
9 Чи є такий батько, який дасть сину камінь, коли той проситиме хліба?
10 Якщо ж син риби проситиме, то чи дасть йому батько гадюку? Ніколи!
11 Отже, коли ви, лихі й недобрі люди, знаєте, як зробити добрий дарунок дітям своїм, то наскільки ж вірніше те, що Отець Небесний обдарує усіх, хто просить!»
Найголовніше правило
12 «Поводьтеся з іншими так, як ви б хотіли, щоб інші поводилися з вами. У цьому є розуміння Закону Мойсеєвого і вчення пророків».
Ідіть праведним шляхом
13 «Вхід до життя істинного лежить тільки через вузькі ворота. Кажу вам це, бо просторими є ті ворота і широкою є та дорога, що ведуть до загибеліt. Багато людей ідуть цим шляхом.
14 Які ж вузькі ворота і тісна дорога, що ведуть до істинного життя! І як мало людей, котрі цей шлях знаходять!»
Стережіться лжепророків
15 «Стережіться лжепророків, які приходять замасковані в овечу шкіру, а насправді є вовками лютими.
16 Ви їх впізнаєте по їхніх вчинках: бо не буде добрих вчинків від злої людини, саме як не буває винограду на терновому кущі або фіґ в будяках.
17 Добре дерево дає добрі плоди, а погане — погані.
18 Не буває доброго дерева, що приносило б погані плоди, як не буває й поганого дерева, що приносило б добрі плоди.
19 Кожне дерево, що не дає добрих плодів, зрубують і кидають у вогонь.
20 Отже, лжепророків цих впізнаєте по їхніх вчинкахt».
Виконуйте волю Отця Небесного
21 «Не кожен, хто каже до Мене: „Господи, Ти — Господь мій” — увійде до Царства Боже, а той лише, хто виконує волю Отця Мого Небесного.
22 Багато хто промовить до Мене того останнього Дня: „Ти — Господь наш! Хіба не віщували ми ім’ям Твоїм? Хіба ж ми не виганяли демонів, та не творили чудеса іменем Твоїм?”
23 Тоді Я відкрито скажу їм: „Я ніколи не знав вас. Ідіть геть від Мене, ви, хто живе неправедно!”»
Не будуйте на піску
24 «Отже, кожен, хто слухає слова Мої й виконує їх, подібний до мудрого чоловіка, який звів будинок свій на камені.
25 І коли пішов дощ, і настала повінь, й знявся вітер і вдарив по будівлі, той дім не впав, бо був збудований на камені.
26 Проте кожен, хто слухає слова Мої, але не виконує їх, подібний до нерозсудливого чоловіка, який звів будинок свій на піску.
27 І коли пішов дощ, і настала повінь, й знявся вітер і вдарив по будівлі, той дім повалився зі страшним гуркотом».
28-29 Коли Ісус скінчив говорити, то натовп був вражений Його наукою, оскільки Він навчав їх як людина, яка має владу, а не як їхні книжники.
Matthew 7
Judging Others
1 "Do not judge so that you will not be judged.2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye?5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
6 "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
Prayer and the Golden Rule
7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.9 Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?10 Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
12 "In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
A Tree and Its Fruit
15 "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.22 Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
The Two Foundations
24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell-and great was its fall."
28 When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching;29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
