Ne pas juger les autres

1 « Ne portez de jugement contre personne, afin que Dieu ne vous juge pas non plus. 2 Car Dieu vous jugera comme vous jugez les autres ; il vous mesurera avec la mesure que vous employez pour eux. 3 Pourquoi regardes-tu le brin de paille qui est dans l’œil de ton frère, alors que tu ne remarques pas la poutre qui est dans ton œil ? 4 Comment peux-tu dire à ton frère : “Laisse-moi enlever cette paille de ton œil”, alors que tu as une poutre dans le tien ?
5 Hypocrite, enlève d’abord la poutre de ton œil et alors tu verras assez clair pour enlever la paille de l’œil de ton frère.
6 « Ne donnez pas ce qui est saint aux chiens, de peur qu’ils ne se retournent contre vous et ne vous déchirent ; ne jetez pas vos perles devant les porcs, de peur qu’ils ne les piétinent. »Demander, chercher et frapper à la porte

7 « Demandez et vous recevrez ; cherchez et vous trouverez ; frappez et l’on vous ouvrira la porte. 8 Car quiconque demande reçoit, qui cherche trouve et l’on ouvre la porte à qui frappe. 9 Y a-t-il quelqu’un parmi vous qui donne à son fils une pierre si celui-ci demande du pain ? 10 ou qui lui donne un serpent s’il demande un poisson ?
11 Tout mauvais que vous êtes, vous savez donner de bonnes choses à vos enfants. A combien plus forte raison, donc, votre Père qui est dans les cieux donnera-t-il de bonnes choses à ceux qui les lui demandent !
12 « Faites pour les autres tout ce que vous voulez qu’ils fassent pour vous : c’est là ce qu’enseignent les livres de la loi de Moïse et des Prophètest. »La porte étroite

13 « Entrez par la porte étroite ! Car large est la porte et facile le chemin qui mènent à la ruine ; nombreux sont ceux qui passent par là.
14 Mais combien étroite est la porte et difficile le chemin qui mènent à la vie ; peu nombreux sont ceux qui les trouvent. »Les faux prophètes

15 « Gardez-vous des faux prophètes. Ils viennent à vous déguisés en brebis, mais au-dedans ce sont des loups féroces. 16 Vous les reconnaîtrez à leur conduite. On ne cueille pas des raisins sur des buissons d’épines, ni des figues sur des chardons. 17 Un bon arbre produit de bons fruits et un arbre malade de mauvais fruits. 18 Un bon arbre ne peut pas produire de mauvais fruits ni un arbre malade de bons fruits. 19 Tout arbre qui ne produit pas de bons fruits est coupé, puis jeté au feu.
20 Ainsi donc, vous reconnaîtrez les faux prophètes à leur conduite. »Dire et faire

21 « Ce ne sont pas tous ceux qui me disent : “Seigneur, Seigneur”, qui entreront dans le Royaume des cieux, mais seulement ceux qui font la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les cieux. 22 Au jour du Jugement, beaucoup me diront : “Seigneur, Seigneur, c’est en ton nom que nous avons été prophètes ; c’est en ton nom que nous avons chassé des esprits mauvais ; c’est en ton nom que nous avons accompli de nombreux miracles. Ne le sais-tu pas ?”
23 Alors je leur déclarerai : “Je ne vous ai jamais connus ; allez-vous-en loin de moi, vous qui commettez le malt !” »Les deux maisons

24 « Ainsi, quiconque écoute ce que je viens de dire et le met en pratique sera comme un homme intelligent qui a bâti sa maison sur le roc. 25 La pluie est tombée, les rivières ont débordé, la tempête s’est abattue sur cette maison, mais elle ne s’est pas écroulée, car ses fondations avaient été posées sur le roc. 26 Mais quiconque écoute ce que je viens de dire et ne le met pas en pratique sera comme un homme insensé qui a bâti sa maison sur le sable.
27 La pluie est tombée, les rivières ont débordé, la tempête s’est abattue sur cette maison et elle s’est écroulée : sa ruine a été complète. »L’autorité de Jésus
28 Quand Jésus eut achevé ces instructions, tous restèrent impressionnés par sa manière d’enseigner ; 29 car il n’était pas comme leurs maîtres de la loi, mais il les enseignait avec autorité.
Matthew 7
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?5 Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone;10 or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent?11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?12 All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.14 For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.16 By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.20 Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works?23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock:25 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and if fell not: for it was founded upon the rock.26 And every one that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand:27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and smote upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall thereof.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching:29 for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
