متی 7

1 دوسروں کی عدالت مت کرنا، ورنہ تمہاری عدالت بھی کی جائے گی۔2 کیونکہ جتنی سختی سے تم دوسروں کا فیصلہ کرتے ہو اُتنی سختی سے تمہارا بھی فیصلہ کیا جائے گا۔ اور جس پیمانے سے تم ناپتے ہو اُسی پیمانے سے تم بھی ناپے جاؤ گے۔3 تُو کیوں غور سے اپنے بھائی کی آنکھ میں پڑے تنکے پر نظر کرتا ہے جبکہ تجھے وہ شہتیر نظر نہیں آتا جو تیری اپنی آنکھ میں ہے؟4 تُو کیونکر اپنے بھائی سے کہہ سکتا ہے، ’ٹھہرو، مجھے تمہاری آنکھ میں پڑا تنکا نکالنے دو،‘ جبکہ تیری اپنی آنکھ میں شہتیر ہے۔5 ریاکار! پہلے اپنی آنکھ کے شہتیر کو نکال۔ تب ہی تجھے بھائی کا تنکا صاف نظر آئے گا اور تُو اُسے اچھی طرح سے دیکھ کر نکال سکے گا۔6 کتوں کو مُقدّس خوراک مت کھلانا اور سؤروں کے آگے اپنے موتی نہ پھینکنا۔ ایسا نہ ہو کہ وہ اُنہیں پاؤں تلے روندیں اور مُڑ کر تم کو پھاڑ ڈالیں۔7 مانگتے رہو تو تم کو دیا جائے گا۔ ڈھونڈتے رہو تو تم کو مل جائے گا۔ کھٹکھٹاتے رہو تو تمہارے لئے دروازہ کھول دیا جائے گا۔8 کیونکہ جو بھی مانگتا ہے وہ پاتا ہے، جو ڈھونڈتا ہے اُسے ملتا ہے، اور جو کھٹکھٹاتا ہے اُس کے لئے دروازہ کھول دیا جاتا ہے۔9 تم میں سے کون اپنے بیٹے کو پتھر دے گا اگر وہ روٹی مانگے؟10 یا کون اُسے سانپ دے گا اگر وہ مچھلی مانگے؟ کوئی نہیں!11 جب تم بُرے ہونے کے باوجود اِتنے سمجھ دار ہو کہ اپنے بچوں کو اچھی چیزیں دے سکتے ہو تو پھر کتنی زیادہ یقینی بات ہے کہ تمہارا آسمانی باپ مانگنے والوں کو اچھی چیزیں دے گا۔12 ہر بات میں دوسروں کے ساتھ وہی سلوک کرو جو تم چاہتے ہو کہ وہ تمہارے ساتھ کریں۔ کیونکہ یہی شریعت اور نبیوں کی تعلیمات کا لُبِ لباب ہے۔13 تنگ دروازے سے داخل ہو، کیونکہ ہلاکت کی طرف لے جانے والا راستہ کشادہ اور اُس کا دروازہ چوڑا ہے۔ بہت سے لوگ اُس میں داخل ہو جاتے ہیں۔14 لیکن زندگی کی طرف لے جانے والا راستہ تنگ ہے اور اُس کا دروازہ چھوٹا۔ کم ہی لوگ اُسے پاتے ہیں۔15 جھوٹے نبیوں سے خبردار رہو! گو وہ بھیڑوں کا بھیس بدل کر تمہارے پاس آتے ہیں، لیکن اندر سے وہ غارت گر بھیڑیے ہوتے ہیں۔16 اُن کا پھل دیکھ کر تم اُنہیں پہچان لو گے۔ کیا خاردار جھاڑیوں سے انگور توڑے جاتے ہیں یا اونٹ کٹاروں سے انجیر؟ ہرگز نہیں۔17 اِسی طرح اچھا درخت اچھا پھل لاتا ہے اور خراب درخت خراب پھل۔18 نہ اچھا درخت خراب پھل لا سکتا ہے، نہ خراب درخت اچھا پھل۔19 جو بھی درخت اچھا پھل نہیں لاتا اُسے کاٹ کر آگ میں جھونکا جاتا ہے۔20 یوں تم اُن کا پھل دیکھ کر اُنہیں پہچان لو گے۔21 ہر ایک جو مجھے ’خداوند، خداوند‘ کہہ کر پکارتا ہے آسمان کی بادشاہی میں داخل نہ ہو گا۔ صرف وہی داخل ہو گا جو میرے آسمانی باپ کی مرضی پر عمل کرتا ہے۔22 عدالت کے دن بہت سے لوگ مجھ سے کہیں گے، ’اے خداوند، خداوند! کیا ہم نے تیرے ہی نام میں نبوّت نہیں کی، تیرے ہی نام سے بدروحیں نہیں نکالیں، تیرے ہی نام سے معجزے نہیں کئے؟‘23 اُس وقت مَیں اُن سے صاف صاف کہہ دوں گا، ’میری کبھی تم سے جان پہچان نہ تھی۔ اے بدکارو! میرے سامنے سے چلے جاؤ۔‘24 لہٰذا جو بھی میری یہ باتیں سن کر اُن پر عمل کرتا ہے وہ اُس سمجھ دار آدمی کی مانند ہے جس نے اپنے مکان کی بنیاد چٹان پر رکھی۔25 بارش ہونے لگی، سیلاب آیا اور آندھی مکان کو جھنجھوڑنے لگی۔ لیکن وہ نہ گرا، کیونکہ اُس کی بنیاد چٹان پر رکھی گئی تھی۔26 لیکن جو بھی میری یہ باتیں سن کر اُن پر عمل نہیں کرتا وہ اُس احمق کی مانند ہے جس نے اپنا مکان صحیح بنیاد ڈالے بغیر ریت پر تعمیر کیا۔27 جب بارش ہونے لگی، سیلاب آیا اور آندھی مکان کو جھنجھوڑنے لگی تو یہ مکان دھڑام سے گر گیا۔“28 جب عیسیٰ نے یہ باتیں ختم کر لیں تو لوگ اُس کی تعلیم سن کر ہکا بکا رہ گئے،29 کیونکہ وہ اُن کے علما کی طرح نہیں بلکہ اختیار کے ساتھ سکھاتا تھا۔

Matthew 7

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?5 Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone;10 or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent?11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?12 All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.14 For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.16 By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.20 Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works?23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock:25 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and if fell not: for it was founded upon the rock.26 And every one that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand:27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and smote upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall thereof.

28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching:29 for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
