Jesús sana a un paralítico

(Mc 2.1-12; Lc 5.17-26)

1 Después de esto, Jesús subió a una barca, pasó al otro lado del lago y llegó a su propio pueblo.t

2 Allí le llevaron un paralítico acostado en una camilla; y al ver Jesús la fe de aquella gente, dijo al enfermo:
–Ánimo, hijo, tus pecados quedan perdonados.t
3 Algunos maestros de la ley pensaron: “Lo que este dice es una ofensa contra Dios.”t

4 Pero como Jesús sabía lo que estaban pensando, les preguntó:
–¿Por qué tenéis tan malos pensamientos? 5 ¿Qué es más fácil, decir: ‘Tus pecados quedan perdonados’, o decir: ‘Levántate y anda’?

6 Pues voy a demostraros que el Hijo del hombre tiene poder en la tierra para perdonar pecados.
Entonces dijo al paralítico:
–Levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa.
7 El paralítico se levantó y se fue a su casa.

8 Al ver esto, la gente tuvo miedo y alabó a Dios por haber dado tal poder a los hombres.t

Jesús llama a Mateo

(Mc 2.13-17; Lc 5.27-32)

9 Al salir Jesús de allí, vio a un hombre llamado Mateo,t que estaba sentado en el lugar donde cobraba los impuestos para Roma. Jesús le dijo:
–Sígueme.
Mateo se levantó y le siguió.
10 Sucedió que Jesús estaba comiendo en la casa,t y muchos cobradores de impuestos,t y otra gente de mala fama,t llegaron y se sentaron también a la mesa con Jesús y sus discípulos.

11 Al ver esto, los fariseos preguntaron a los discípulos:
–¿Cómo es que vuestro maestro come con los cobradores de impuestos y los pecadores?

12 Jesús los oyó y les dijo:
–Los que gozan de buena salud no necesitan médico, sino los enfermos.

13 Id y aprended qué significan estas palabras de la Escritura: ‘Quiero que seáis compasivos, y no que me ofrezcáis sacrificios.’t Pues yo no he venido a llamar a los justos,t sino a los pecadores.

La cuestión del ayuno

(Mc 2.18-22; Lc 5.33-39)

14 Los seguidores de Juan el Bautistat se acercaron a Jesús y le preguntaron:
–Nosotros y los fariseos ayunamost con frecuencia: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no ayunan?

15 Jesús les contestó:
–¿Acaso pueden estar tristes los invitados a una bodat mientras el novio está con ellos? Pero llegará el momento en que se lleven al novio,t y entonces ayunarán.
16 “Nadie remienda un vestido viejo con un trozo de tela nueva, porque lo nuevo encoge y tira del vestido viejo, y el desgarrón se hace mayor.

17 Tampoco se echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque los odres revientan, y tanto el vino como los odres se pierden.t Por eso hay que echar el vino nuevo en odres nuevos, para que se conserven ambas cosas.”t

La hija de Jairo y la mujer enferma

(Mc 5.21-43; Lc 8.40-56)

18 Mientras Jesús les estaba hablando, llegó un jefe de los judíos,t se arrodilló ante él y le dijo:
–Mi hija acaba de morir, pero si tú vienes y pones tu mano sobre ella,t volverá a la vida.
19 Jesús se levantó, y acompañado de sus discípulos se fue con él. 20 Entonces una mujer que desde hacía doce años estaba enferma, con hemorragias,t se acercó a Jesús por detrás y tocó el borde de su capa. 21 Porque pensaba: “Con solo tocar su capa quedaré sana.”

22 Pero Jesús, volviéndose, vio a la mujer y le dijo:
–Ánimo, hija, por tu fe has quedado sanada.
Y desde aquel momento quedó sana.
23 Cuando Jesús llegó a casa del jefe de los judíos, y vio a los músicos que estaban preparados para el entierro y a la gente que lloraba a gritos,t

24 les dijo:
–Salid de aquí. La muchacha no está muerta, sino dormida.t
La gente se burlaba de Jesús, 25 pero él los hizo salir; luego entró, tomó de la mano a la muchacha y ella se levantó.

26 Y por toda aquella región corrió la noticia de lo sucedido.

Jesús sana a dos ciegos

27 Al salir Jesús de allí, dos ciegos le siguieron, gritando:
–¡Ten compasión de nosotros, Hijo de David!t

28 Cuando entró en la casa, los ciegos se le acercaron. Él les preguntó:
–¿Creéis que puedo hacer esto?
–Sí, Señor –le contestaron.

29 Entonces Jesús les tocó los ojos y les dijo:
–Hágase conforme a la fe que tenéis.

30 Y recobraron la vista. Jesús les advirtió severamente:
–Procurad que nadie lo sepa.t

31 Pero en cuanto salieron, contaron por toda aquella región lo que Jesús había hecho.

Jesús sana a un mudo

33 Jesús expulsó al demonio, y en seguida el mudo comenzó a hablar.t La gente, asombrada, decía:
–¡Nunca se ha visto cosa igual en Israel!

34 Pero los fariseos decían:
–El propio jefe de los demonios es quien ha dado a este el poder de expulsarlos.t

Mucha mies y pocos obreros

37 Dijo entonces a sus discípulos:
–Ciertamente la mies es mucha, pero los obreros son pocos.

38 Por eso, pedid al Dueño de la mies que mande obreros a recogerla.t

Matthew 9

Healing and Forgiving a Paralytic

1 After getting into a boat he crossed to the other side and came to his own town.s2 Just thent some peoplet brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher.t When Jesus saw theirs faith, he said to the paralytic, “Have courage, son! Your sins are forgiven.”s3 Thent some of the experts in the lawt said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming!”s4 When Jesus saw their reaction he said, “Why do you respond with evil in your hearts?5 Which is easier,s to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’?6 But so that you may knows that the Son of Mans has authority on earth to forgive sins” – then he said to the paralytics – “Stand up, take your stretcher, and go home.”t7 And he stood up and went home.t

8 Whent the crowd saw this, they were afraids and honored God who had given such authority to men.t

The Call of Matthew; Eating with Sinners

9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth.ts “Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.10 Ast Jesust was having a mealts in Matthew’st house, many tax collectorss and sinners came and ate with Jesus and his disciples.11 When the Phariseess saw this they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”s12 Whent Jesus heard this he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.s

13 Go and learn what this saying means: ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice.’s For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

The Superiority of the New

14 Then John’ss disciples came to Jesust and asked, “Why do we and the Phariseess fast often,s but your disciples don’t fast?”15 Jesus said to them, “The wedding guestst cannot mourn while the bridegrooms is with them, can they? But the dayst are coming when the bridegroom will be taken from them,s and then they will fast.16 No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, because the patch will pull away from the garment and the tear will be worse.

17 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins;s otherwise the skins burst and the wine is spilled out and the skins are destroyed. Instead they put new wine into new wineskinss and both are preserved.”

Restoration and Healing

18 As he was saying these things, a ruler came, bowed low before him, and said, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.”19 Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.20 Butt a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edges of his cloak.t21 For she kept saying to herself,t “If only I touch his cloak, I will be healed.”ts22 But when Jesus turned and saw her he said, “Have courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well.”t And the woman was healedt from that hour.23 When Jesus entered the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the disorderly crowd,24 he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but asleep.” And they began making fun of him.t25 But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and gently took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

26 And the news of this spread throughout that region.t

Healing the Blind and Mute

27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting,t “Have mercys on us, Son of David!”s28 Whent he went into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesust said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.”29 Then he touched their eyes saying, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.”30 And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus sternly warned them, “See that no one knows about this.”

31 But they went out and spread the news about him throughout that entire region.t
32 Ast they were going away,t a man who could not talk and was demon-possessed was brought to him.33 After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”

34 But the Phariseess said, “By the rulert of demons he casts out demons.”s

Workers for the Harvest

35 Then Jesus went throughout all the townst and villages, teaching in their synagogues,s preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness.t36 Whent he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless,t like sheep without a shepherd.37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

38 Therefore ask the Lord of the harvests to send outt workers into his harvest.”
