Dědičky v Izraeli

1 Tehdy přistoupili rodoví náčelníci z rodu Gileáda, syna Machirova, syna Manasesova z rodů Josefových synů, aby promluvili před Mojžíšem a před izraelskými rodovými náčelníky. 2 Řekli: „Hospodin našemu pánu přikázal, aby synům Izraele rozdělil zemi losem na dědičné podíly. Našemu pánu bylo rovněž od Hospodina přikázáno, aby dědictví našeho bratra Celofchada přidělil jeho dcerám. 3 Vdají-li se však za někoho z jiných izraelských kmenů, pak jejich dědictví ubude z dědictví našich otců a bude přidáno k dědictví kmene, do něhož se vdají. Tak by z našeho dědičného losu ubylo. 4 Dokonce i když synům Izraele nastane milostivé léto, dědictví těchto dcer setrvá v kmeni, do něhož se vdají. Tak by jejich dědictví ubylo z dědictví našeho otcovského kmene.“

5 Mojžíš pak na Hospodinův rozkaz synům Izraele oznámil: „Kmen Josefových synů mluví správně. 6 Hospodin ohledně Celofchadových dcer přikazuje toto: Mohou se vdávat, za koho chtějí, ale jen uvnitř svého otcovského rodu a kmene. 7 Tak nebude izraelské dědictví přecházet z kmene na kmen. Synové Izraele budou spjati každý s dědictvím svého otcovského kmene. 8 Každá dcera, která má mezi izraelskými kmeny dostat dědictví, ať se vdá za někoho ve svém otcovském rodu a kmeni, aby si všichni synové Izraele udrželi dědictví svých otců. 9 Tak nebude dědictví přecházet z kmene na kmen. Každý z izraelských kmenů bude spjat se svým dědictvím.“

10 Celofchadovy dcery pak učinily přesně tak, jak Hospodin přikázal Mojžíšovi. 11 Celofchadovy dcery Machla, Tirsa, Chogla, Milka a Noa se vdaly za syny svých strýců. 12 Vdaly se do rodin synů Manasese, syna Josefova, a jejich dědictví zůstalo v jejich otcovském kmeni a rodu.

13 To jsou přikázání a zákony, které Hospodin skrze Mojžíše vydal synům Izraele na moábských pláních, při Jordánu naproti Jerichu.

Women and Land Inheritance

1 Then the heads of the family groupst of the Gileadites, the descendant of Machir, the descendant of Manasseh, who were from the Josephite families, approached and spoke before Mosest and the leaders who were the heads of the Israelite families.t2 They said, “The Lord commanded my lord to givet the land as an inheritance by lot to the Israelites; and my lord was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.3 Now if they should be married to one of the ment from another Israelite tribe, their inheritance would be taken from the inheritance of our fathers and added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry.t As a result, it will be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

4 And when the Jubilee of the Israelites is to take place,t their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry. So their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of our ancestral tribe.”t

Moses’ Decision

5 Then Moses gave a rulingt to the Israelites by the wordt of the Lord: “What the tribe of the Josephites is saying is right.6 This is whatt the Lord has commanded for Zelophehad’s daughters: ‘Let them marryt whomever they think best,t only they must marry within the family of their father’s tribe.7 In this way the inheritance of the Israelites will not be transferredt from tribe to tribe. But every one of the Israelites must retain the ancestral heritage.8 And every daughter who possesses an inheritance from any of the tribes of the Israelites must become the wife of a man from any family in her father’s tribe, so that every Israelitet may retain the inheritance of his fathers.

9 No inheritance may pass from tribe to tribe. But every one of the tribes of the Israelites must retain its inheritance.”
10 As the Lord had commanded Moses, so the daughters of Zelophehad did.11 For the daughters of Zelophehad – Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah – were married to the sons of their uncles.t

12 They were married into the families of the Manassehites, the descendants of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of their father’s family.

13 These are the commandments and the decisions that the Lord commanded the Israelites through the authorityt of Moses, on the plains of Moab by the Jordan Rivert opposite Jericho.s
