Filipenses 2

1 ¿Lo que les escribo los anima en Cristo? ¿Quieren consolarme mostrándome cuánto me aman? ¿Compartimos el mismo Espíritu? ¿Me tienen verdadero afecto y compasión?2 Entonces voy a pedirles algo que me haría completamente feliz: tengan la misma manera de pensar, el mismo amor y las mismas metas.3 No hagan nada por rivalidad ni orgullo. Sean humildes y cada uno considere a los demás como más importantes que sí mismo.

4 Que cada uno no busque sólo su propio bien, sino el de los demás.

Humillación y grandeza de Cristo

5 Piensen y actúen como Jesucristo. Esa es la «misma manera de pensar» que les estoy pidiendo que tengan.
6 Él era como Dios en todo sentido,
pero no se aprovechó de ser igual a Dios.
7 Al contrario, él se quitó ese honor,
aceptó hacerse un siervo
y nacer como un ser humano.
Al vivir como hombre,
8 se humilló a sí mismo
y fue obediente hasta el extremo
de morir en la cruz.
9 Por eso, Dios le dio el más alto honor
y el nombre que está por sobre
todos los nombres,
10 para que se arrodillen ante Jesús
todos los que están en el cielo,
en la tierra y debajo de la tierra,
11 y para que todos reconozcan
que Jesucristo es el Señor
dando así honra a Dios Padre.

Cómo se debe vivir

12 Así pues, estimados hermanos, ustedes siempre han obedecido lo que se les enseñó. Entonces tal como lo hacían mientras estaba con ustedes, es aún más importante que obedezcan ahora que no estoy con ustedes. Procuren la salvación de todos ustedes, y háganlo con temor y respeto hacia Dios.

13 Dios está obrando entre ustedes. Él despierta en ustedes el deseo de hacer lo que a él le agrada y les da el poder para hacerlo.
14 Hagan todo sin quejarse y sin discutir.15 Así serán hijos de Dios, sin culpa y sin falta viviendo entre una generación perversa y mala. De esa forma brillarán entre ellos como estrellas en un mundo de oscuridad.16 Ustedes les están ofreciendo un mensaje de vida. Así, cuando Cristo regrese, tendré el gusto de hablar bien de ustedes y podré decir que mi lucha y trabajo por ustedes valió la pena.17 Y aunque es posible que tenga que dar mi vida para completar el sacrificio que ustedes hacen por su fe, lo haré con alegría y compartiré esa alegría con todos ustedes.

18 Alégrense también conmigo y compartan mi alegría.

Noticias de Timoteo y Epafrodito

19 Espero, si es la voluntad del Señor Jesús, enviarles pronto a Timoteo, pues me hará feliz saber cómo están.20 No hay otro como Timoteo, él realmente se preocupa por ustedes y por su bienestar.21 Todos se preocupan sólo por conseguir su propio bien y no por seguir a Jesucristo.22 Pero ustedes ya conocen los méritos de Timoteo, él me ha ayudado a anunciar la buena noticiat de salvación como un hijo que sirve a su padre.23 Así que espero poder enviárselo tan pronto sepa lo que va a pasar conmigo;

24 y confío en el Señor que yo mismo podré ir pronto a visitarles.
25 Considero necesario que vuelva a ustedes Epafrodito, mi hermano en Cristo, buen colaborador y compañero de lucha. Aprecio que me lo hayan enviado como su representante para rendir un servicio sacrificial en beneficio mío ayudándome en mi necesidad.26 Lo envío porque tiene muchas ganas de verlos y está preocupado porque ustedes supieron que estuvo enfermo.27 En realidad sí estuvo muy enfermo, a punto de morir; sin embargo, Dios tuvo compasión de él y también la tuvo de mí para que yo no tuviera tristeza sobre tristeza.28 Por eso se lo envío pronto para que cuando lo vean se sientan otra vez muy felices y yo esté menos triste.29 Recíbanlo llenos de alegría como creyente en el Señor. Aprecien mucho a los que son como Epafrodito

30 porque él puso en peligro su vida por servir a Cristo. Arriesgó su vida al prestarme el servicio que ustedes no me podían prestar personalmente.

Philippians 2

Be Like Christ

1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,7 but temptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

Timothy and Epaphroditus

19 But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition.20 For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare.21 For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.22 But you know of his proven worth, that he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel like a child serving his father.23 Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me;24 and I trust in the Lord that I myself also will be coming shortly.25 But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my need;26 because he was longing tfor you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.27 For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow.28 Therefore I have sent him all the more eagerly so that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be less concerned about you. 29 Receive him then in the Lord with all joy, and hold men like him in high regard;30 because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was deficient in your service to me.
