ピリピ人への手紙 3

三

1 愛する皆さん。　どんなことが起ころうと、主にあって喜びなさい。　こう何度も言いますが、それを私は、別にわずらわしくは思いませんし、あなたがたも聞かされたほうがいいのです。
2 救われるためには割礼（男子の生殖器の包皮を切り取る儀式）を受ける必要があると教える、あの悪い連中を警戒してください。　危険な犬ですから。　3 肉体の一部を切り取りさえすれば、神様の子供になれるのではありません。　霊をもって神様を礼拝する者こそ、神様の子供なのです。　その礼拝こそが、ただ一つの真の「割礼」です。　クリスチャンの誇れることと言ったら、キリスト・イエスが成し遂げてくださったわざだけです。　自分で自分を救うことなどとてもできないと、よく知っているはずです。
4 しかし、万一、自分を救える見込みがある人間をあげるとしたら、それは私だ、と言ってもいいでしょう。　もし、人間的に見て救われる人がいるとしたら、私には、確かにその可能性があります。　5 生粋のユダヤ人として、由緒あるベニヤミンの家系に生まれた私は、八日目に、ユダヤ人のしるしとしての儀式である、割礼を受けました。　つまり、だれにも引けを取らない、正真正銘のユダヤ人です。　その上、ユダヤ教のおきてや習慣のすべてを守る点にかけては、最もきびしいパリサイ派に属していました。　6 熱心さの点ではどうだったかと言うと、もちろん、熱心なあまり、教会を激しく迫害したほどです。　そして、ユダヤ教のささいな規則や規定にも徹底的に従おうと、懸命に努力しました。
7 しかし、以前、非常に価値があると思っていたこれらのものを、今ではことごとく捨ててしまいました。　それは、ただキリスト様だけに信頼し、キリスト様だけに望みをかけるためです。　8 そうです。　主であるキリスト・イエスを知っているという、途方もなくすばらしい特権と比べれば、ほかのものはみな、色あせて見えるのです。　私は、キリスト様以外のものは、がらくた同然にみなし、全部捨ててしまいました。　それは、キリスト様を自分のものとするためであり、　9 また、もはや、良い人間になろうとか、おきてに従って救われようとか考えるのはやめて、ただキリスト様を信じることによって救われ、キリスト様と結ばれるためです。　神様が、私たちを正しい者と認めてくださるのは、信仰――ただキリスト様だけに頼ること――を持っているかどうかで、決まるからです。　10 私は今、ほかのことはいっさい考えず、ただこのことだけを求めています。　つまり、真にキリスト様を知ること、キリスト様を復活させた超自然的な力を、身をもって体験すること、そして、キリスト様と共に苦しみ、また死ぬとは、どういうことかを知ることです。　11 死人の中から復活した者特有の、生き生きとした新しいいのちに生きる者となるためには、どんな犠牲もいといません。
12 なにも、自分が完全な人間だ、などと主張するつもりはありません。　学ぶべきことも、まだたくさん残っています。　ただ、キリスト様が何のために救ってくださったかを知り、私に与えられている目標に到達する日を目指して、努力しているのです。
13 愛する皆さん。　私は、まだその目標に達してはいません。　ただこの一事に、全力を注いでいます。　すなわち、過去に執着せず、前にあるものを望み見、　14 ゴールに到着してほうびを得るために、一生懸命努力しているのです。　このほうびを与えようと、神様は、私たちを天へと召しておられます。　それは、キリスト・イエスが成し遂げてくださったことに基づくのです。
15 私は、一人前のクリスチャンである、あなたがたがみな、この点について、私と同じ考え方をするようにと願います。　もし何かの点でこの考え方からはずれているなら、神様はきっと指摘してくださるでしょう。――16 もちろん、あなたがたが、与えられた真理に完全に従っているならば、の話です。
17 愛する皆さん。　どうか私の生き方を見ならってください。　また、私を手本として生きている人たちに目をとめてください。　18 というのは、今までも、しばしば注意してきたことですし、今また、涙ながらに訴えたいのですが、クリスチャンとして歩みながら、実はキリスト様の十字架に敵対している者が大ぜいいるからです。　19 彼らの行き着く先は永遠の滅びです。　自分の欲望を神とし、ほんとうは恥じるべきことを誇っているからです。　頭は、この地上の生活のことでいっぱいになっています。　20 しかし、私たちのふるさとは天にあります。　そこには救い主である主イエス・キリストがおられます。　私たちは、キリスト様がそこから帰って来られるのを、ひたすら待ち望んでいるのです。　21 その時、キリスト様は、あらゆる所の、あらゆるものを従わせる超自然的な力で、私たちの死ぬべき体を、ご自身と同じ栄光の体に変えてくださるのです。

Philippians 3

1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not irksome, but for you it is safe.2 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the concision:3 for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:4 though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more:5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;6 as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.7 Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.8 Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:10 that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death;11 if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead.12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus.13 Brethren, I could not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before,14 I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, this also shall God reveal unto you:16 only, whereunto we have attained, by that same rule let us walk.17 Brethren, be ye imitators together of me, and mark them that so walk even as ye have us for an ensample.18 For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:19 whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.20 For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:21 who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.
