الرسالة إلى المؤمنين في فيلبي 3

1 أخيرا يا اخوتي، افرحوا بالمسيح. أنا أكرر ما قلته لكم من قبل، هذا لا يتعبني، بل فيه أمان لكم.2 احترسوا من الكلاب، احترسوا من عمال السوء، احترسوا من الذين يصرون على أن يقطعوا جزءا من الجسم!3 لأننا نحن ختنا الختان الحق، ونحن نعبد بروح الله، ونفتخر بالمسيح عيسـى، ولا نتكل على امتيازات بشرية.4 إن كان واحد يظن أن له الحق في أن يتكل على امتيازات بشرية، فمن حقي أنا بالأولى أن أفعل ذلك.5 فقد ختنت لما كان عمري ثمانية أيام، وأنا من بني إسرائيل، من قبيلة بنيمين، عبراني ابن عبرانيين، متعصب للشريعة كفريسي،6 ومن شدة غيرتي اضطهدت أمة المسيح، ومن جهة الصلاح الذي تطلبه الشريعة، كنت بلا عيب.7 لكن هذه الأمور التي كنت أعتبر أنها مهمة، هي الآن في حسابي بلا قيمة من أجل المسيح.8 بل وأكثر من ذلك، كل الأشياء هي في حسابي بلا قيمة بالمقارنة مع عظمة معرفة المسيح عيسـى مولاي. فأنا من أجله خسرت كل هذه الأشياء، وهي في حسابي مجرد زبالة، وذلك لكي أربح المسيح،9 وأنتمي له، ويعتبرني الله صالحا بالإيمان. لا صلاحي أنا على أساس أني عملت بفرائض الشريعة، بل الصلاح الذي هو بالإيمان بالمسيح.10 أريد أن أعرف المسيح، وأختبر قوة قيامته، وأشاركه في آلامه، وأصبح مثله في موته،11 لكي أقوم من الموت إلى الحياة.12 أنا لا أقول إني توصلت إلى كل هذا، أو بلغت الكمال. بل أسعى لكي آخذ الجائزة التي من أجلها أخذني المسيح.13 يا اخوتي أنا لا أعتبر أني أخذتها بعد، لكني أفعل هذا الأمر فقط: أنسى ما ورائي، وأبذل كل جهدي نحو ما هو قدامي.14 أنا أسعى نحو الهدف لكي أربح الجائزة، أي الحياة السمائية التي دعاني الله لها بواسطة المسيح عيسـى.15 كل البالغين روحيا يجب أن يفكروا بهذه الطريقة. أما إن كان هناك من لا يتفق مع هذا، فالله سيوضح له الأمور.16 إنما يجب أن نواصل سيرنا تابعين الحق الذي بلغنا.17 اقتدوا بي كلكم يا اخوتي. وانتبهوا إلى الذين يعيشون حسب المثال الذي قدمناه.18 أنا قلت لكم هذا مرات كثيرة من قبل، والآن أكرره وأنا أبكي: إن كثيرين في سلوكهم هم أعداء صليب المسيح.19 هؤلاء مصيرهم الهلاك، فهم يعبدون بطونهم، ويفتخرون بما يخجل، وكل تفكيرهم هو في أمور هذه الدنيا.20 أما نحن فإن وطننا هو السماء، ومن السماء ننتظر بشوق منقذنا وسيدنا عيسى.21 فهو سيغير أجسامنا الحقيرة، ويجعلها مثل جسمه الممجد، وذلك بقوته التي بها يجعل كل شيء يخضع تحت أمره.

Being Acceptable to God

1 Finally, my dear friends, be glad that you belong to the Lord. It doesn't bother me to write the same things to you that I have written before. In fact, it is for your own good.
2 Watch out for those people who behave like dogs! They are evil and want to do more than just circumcise you. 3 But we are the ones who are truly circumcised, because we worship by the power of God's Spiritt and take pride in Christ Jesus. We don't brag about what we have done, 4 although I could. Others may brag about themselves, but I have more reason to brag than anyone else. 5 t I was circumcised when I was eight days old, t and I am from the nation of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin. I am a true Hebrew. As a Pharisee, I strictly obeyed the Law of Moses.

6 t And I was so eager I even made trouble for the church. I did everything the Law demands in order to please God.
7 But Christ has shown me that what I once thought was valuable is worthless. 8 Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage. All I want is Christ 9 and to know that I belong to him. I could not make myself acceptable to God by obeying the Law of Moses. God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ. 10 All I want is to know Christ and the power that raised him to life. I want to suffer and die as he did,

11 so that somehow I also may be raised to life.

Running toward the Goal

16 But we must keep going in the direction that we are now headed.
17  t My friends, I want you to follow my example and learn from others who closely follow the example we set for you. 18 I often warned you that many people are living as enemies of the cross of Christ. And now with tears in my eyes, I warn you again

19 that they are headed for hell! They worship their stomachs and brag about the disgusting things they do. All they can think about are the things of this world.
20 But we are citizens of heaven and are eagerly waiting for our Savior to come from there. Our Lord Jesus Christ 21 t has power over everything, and he will make these poor bodies of ours like his own glorious body.
