Filippense 4
1 My vriende, ek is baie lief vir julle en ek verlang na julle. Julle maak my bly en ek is baie trots op julle. Ek wil hê julle moet aanhou glo in die Here.Christene moet reg lewe
2 Euodia en Sintige, ek vra vir julle om saam te werk, want julle altwee behoort aan die Here.
3 En jy wat altyd saam met my werk, ek vra ook vir jou om hierdie twee vroue te help. Hulle het altwee hard saam met my gewerk om vir ander mense die goeie boodskap te bring, soos Klemens en my ander helpers ook gedoen het. Hulle name is almal geskryf in die tboek van die lewe.
4 Julle behoort aan die Here. Daarom moet julle altyd bly wees! Ek sê dit weer, julle moet bly wees! 5 Julle moet vriendelik en geduldig wees met al die mense, want die Here sal gou weer kom! 6 Julle moenie bekommerd wees nie. Julle moet ernstig bid tot God, julle moet vir Hom sê wat julle nodig het en julle moet vir Hom dankie sê daarvoor.
7 Julle behoort aan Christus Jesus. Daarom sal God vir julle vrede gee, vrede wat baie beter is as enige iets waaraan mense kan dink, vrede wat die dinge beskerm wat julle dink.
8 Vriende, ek wil vir julle nog iets sê. Julle moet altyd dink aan die dinge wat waar is, wat mooi is, wat reg is, wat trein is, wat pragtig en goed is. Ja, julle moet dink aan alles wat mooi is, alles waarop ’n mens trots kan wees.
9 Julle het geleer en gehoor en gesien hoe ek lewe. Julle moet dieselfde doen, dan sal God wat vrede gee, by julle wees.Paulus sê dankie
10 Die Here het my baie bly laat word toe julle nou weer begin wys het dat julle aan my dink. Ek weet julle het voorheen ook aan my gedink, maar julle kon dit nie wys nie. 11 Ek sê dit nie omdat ek te min het nie. Ek het geleer om tevrede te wees met dit wat ek het. 12 In my lewe het baie dinge met my gebeur. Partymaal het ek te min gehad en partymaal het ek baie gehad, en so het ek geleer om tevrede te wees. Partymaal het ek genoeg gehad om te eet en partymaal was ek honger. Ja, partymaal het ek baie gehad en partymaal het ek te min gehad. 13 Christus gee vir my die krag om enige iets te doen,
14 maar julle het die regte ding gedoen toe julle my gehelp het toe ek swaargekry het.
15 Gemeente van Filippi, nadat ek weggegaan het uit die provinsie Masedonië en begin het om die goeie boodskap te bring, het ander gemeentes nie vir my gesorg nie. Julle weet dat net julle vir my gesorg het. 16 Julle het ook ’n paar maal vir my die dinge gestuur wat ek nodig gehad het toe ek in die stad Tessalonika was. 17 Maar dit is nie vir my belangrik dat ek iets van julle ontvang nie. Dit is vir my belangrik dat julle die tseën moet ontvang wat mense kry wanneer hulle vir ander mense iets gee. 18 Ek het alles gekry wat julle gestuur het en ek het nou genoeg. Epafroditos het vir my die goed gebring wat julle gestuur het, en nou het ek genoeg. Dit wat julle gestuur het, is ’n toffer wat julle vir God gegee het, ’n offer wat Hy graag wil hê, ’n offer waarvan Hy baie hou. 19 My God sal vir julle alles gee wat julle nodig het, want Hy het baie wonderlike dinge wat Hy vir ons wil gee, dinge wat van Christus Jesus kom.

21 Ek stuur groete vir al die tgelowiges in die stad Filippi wat aan Christus Jesus behoort. Al die vriende hier by my stuur ook groete vir julle. 22 Al die gelowiges hier stuur ook groete vir julle. Die mense wat vir die tkeiser werk, stuur spesiale groete. 23 Ek bid dat die Here Jesus Christus tgenadig sal wees vir julle almal.
Philippians 4
Instructions
1 So then, my brothers and sisters, how dear you are to me and how I miss you! How happy you make me, and how proud I am of you! This then, dear brothers and sisters, is how you should stand firm in your life in the Lord.
2 Euodia and Syntyche, please, I beg you, try to agree as sisters in the Lord.
3 And you too, my faithful partner, I want you to help these women; for they have worked hard with me to spread the gospel, together with Clement and all my other fellow-workers, whose names are in God's book of the living.
4 May you always be joyful in your union with the Lord. I say it again: rejoice!
5 Show a gentle attitude towards everyone. The Lord is coming soon. 6 Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart.
7 And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.
8 In conclusion, my brothers and sisters, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable.
9 Put into practice what you learnt and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you.Thanks for the Gift
10 In my life in union with the Lord it is a great joy to me that after so long a time you once more had the chance of showing that you care for me. I don't mean that you had stopped caring for me — you just had no chance to show it. 11 And I am not saying this because I feel neglected, for I have learnt to be satisfied with what I have. 12 I know what it is to be in need and what it is to have more than enough. I have learnt this secret, so that anywhere, at any time, I am content, whether I am full or hungry, whether I have too much or too little.
13 I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.
14 But it was very good of you to help me in my troubles. 15 You Philippians know very well that when I left Macedonia in the early days of preaching the Good News, you were the only church to help me; you were the only ones who shared my profits and losses.t 16 More than once when I needed help in Thessalonica, you sent it to me.t 17 It is not that I just want to receive gifts; rather, I want to see profit added to your account. 18 Here, then, is my receipt for everything you have given me — and it has been more than enough! I have all I need now that Epaphroditus has brought me all your gifts. They are like a sweet-smelling offering to God, a sacrifice which is acceptable and pleasing to him.t 19 And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply all your needs.
20 To our God and Father be the glory for ever and ever! Amen.Final Greetings
