Philipper 4
1 Daher, meine geliebten und ersehnten Brüder, meine Freude und Krone, also stehet fest im Herrn, Geliebte!2 Die Evodia ermahne ich, und die Syntyche ermahne ich, einerlei gesinnt zu sein im Herrn.3 Ja, ich bitte auch dich, mein treuer Mitknecht, stehe ihnen bei, die in dem Evangelium mit mir gekämpft haben, auch mit Clemens und meinen übrigen Mitarbeitern, deren Namen im Buche des Lebens sind.4 Freuet euch in dem Herrn allezeit! Wiederum will ich sagen: Freuet euch!5 Laßt eure Gelindigkeit kundwerden allen Menschen; der Herr ist nahe.6 Seid um nichts besorgt, sondern in allem lasset durch Gebet und Flehen mit Danksagung eure Anliegen vor Gott kundwerden;7 und der Friede Gottes, der allen Verstand übersteigt, wird eure Herzen und euren Sinn bewahren in Christo Jesu.8 Übrigens, Brüder, alles was wahr, alles was würdig, alles was gerecht, alles was rein, alles was lieblich ist, alles was wohllautet, wenn es irgend eine Tugend und wenn es irgend ein Lob gibt, dieses erwäget.9 Was ihr auch gelernt und empfangen und gehört und an mir gesehen habt, dieses tut, und der Gott des Friedens wird mit euch sein.10 Ich habe mich aber im Herrn sehr gefreut, daß ihr endlich einmal wieder aufgelebt seid, meiner zu gedenken; wiewohl ihr auch meiner gedachtet, aber ihr hattet keine Gelegenheit.11 Nicht daß ich dies des Mangels halber sage, denn ich habe gelernt, worin ich bin, mich zu begnügen.12 Ich weiß sowohl erniedrigt zu sein, als ich weiß, Überfluß zu haben; in jedem und in allem bin ich unterwiesen, sowohl satt zu sein als zu hungern, sowohl Überfluß zu haben als Mangel zu leiden.13 Alles vermag ich in dem, der mich kräftigt.14 Doch habt ihr wohlgetan, daß ihr an meiner Drangsal teilgenommen habt.15 Ihr wisset aber auch, ihr Philipper, daß im Anfang des Evangeliums, als ich aus Macedonien wegging, keine Versammlung mir in Bezug auf Geben und Empfangen mitgeteilt hat, als nur ihr allein.16 Denn auch in Thessalonich habt ihr mir einmal und zweimal für meine Notdurft gesandt.17 Nicht daß ich die Gabe suche, sondern ich suche die Frucht, die überströmend sei für eure Rechnung.18 Ich habe aber alles in Fülle und habe Überfluß; ich bin erfüllt, da ich von Epaphroditus das von euch Gesandte empfangen habe, einen duftenden Wohlgeruch, ein angenehmes Opfer, Gott wohlgefällig.19 Mein Gott aber wird alle eure Notdurft erfüllen nach seinem Reichtum in Herrlichkeit in Christo Jesu.20 Unserem Gott und Vater aber sei die Herrlichkeit von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.21 Grüßet jeden Heiligen in Christo Jesu. Es grüßen euch die Brüder, die bei mir sind.22 Es grüßen euch alle Heiligen, und besonders die aus des Kaisers Hause.23 Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus Christus sei mit eurem Geiste! Amen.

1 So then, my brothers and sisters,t dear friends whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand in the Lord in this way, my dear friends!
2 I appeal to Euodia and to Syntyche to agree in the Lord.3 Yes, I say also to you, true companion,t help them. They have struggled together in the gospel ministryt along with me and Clement and my other coworkers, whose names are in the book of life.4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!5 Let everyone see your gentleness.t The Lord is near!6 Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and mindst in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters,t whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.
9 And what you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

10 I have great joy in the Lord because now at last you have again expressed your concern for me. (Now I know you were concerned before but had no opportunity to do anything.)t11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance.12 I have experienced times of need and times of abundance. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment,t whether I go satisfied or hungry, have plenty or nothing.13 I am able to do all thingst through the ones who strengthens me.
14 Nevertheless, you did well to share with me in my trouble.
15 And as you Philippians know, at the beginning of my gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in this matter of giving and receiving except you alone.16 For even in Thessalonicas on more than one occasiont you sent something for my need.17 I do not say this because I am seeking a gift.t Rather, I seek the credit that abounds to your account.18 For I have received everything, and I have plenty. I have all I need because I received from Epaphroditus what you sent – a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, very pleasing to God.19 And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious richest in Christ Jesus.
20 May glory be given to God our Father forever and ever. Amen.

21 Give greetings to all the saints in Christ Jesus. The brotherst with me here send greetings.22 All the saints greet you, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.
