1 אחים יקרים, אני אוהב אתכם ומתגעגע אליכם מאוד, כי אתם מקור שמחה בשבילי וגמול על עבודתי. חברים אהובים, אנא, היו נאמנים לאדון.

2 יש לי בקשה אל שתי הנשים היקרות, אבהודיה וסונטיכי: אני מתחנן לפניכן, בשם אלוהים, הפסיקו לריב - התפייסו ושובו להיות חברות!

3 ואני מבקש מכם, שותפי לעבודה, עזרו לנשים האלה, כי הן עבדו איתי בהפצת הבשורה על ישוע המשיח. הן עבדו גם עם קלימיס ועם שאר חברי לעבודה, ושמם כתוב בספר החיים.

4 שמחו תמיד בישוע אדוננו; אני חוזר ואומר: שמחו!

5 הוכיחו לכולם שאינכם אנוכיים ושאתם מתחשבים תמיד באחרים. זכרו, אדוננו ישוע קרוב!

6 אל תדאגו לדבר, אלא התפללו ואמרו לאלוהים למה אתם זקוקים, ואל תשכחו להודות לו.

7 אם באמת תעשו כך, אלוהים ישכין בלבכם שלווה נפלאה שאינכם מסוגלים אפילו לתאר לעצמכם.

8 אחים יקרים, לסיום מכתבי ברצוני לומר לכם דבר נוסף: רכזו את תשומת לבכם בכל דבר טוב, אמיתי וישר. חישבו על דברים טהורים ונעימים; חישבו על כל דבר משמח, ועל כל מה שאתם יכולים להודות עליו לאלוהים.

9 המשיכו לקיים הלכה למעשה את כל אשר לימדתי אתכם, ואת כל אשר ראיתם אותי עושה, ואלוהי השלום יהיה אתכם.

10 אני אסיר תודה לכם ומודה לאלוהים על ששוב עזרתם לי. אני יודע שתמיד רציתם לשלוח לי מתנות כפי שמשיגה ידכם, אולם במשך זמן-מה לא הייתה לכם אפשרות לכך.

11 איני אומר זאת משום שאני זקוק לכסף, שכן למדתי להסתפק במה שיש לי, אם בהרבה ואם במעט.

12 אני יודע כיצד לחיות בעוני או בעושר. למדתי לשמוח ולהסתפק בחלקי בכל מצב - בשובע או ברעב, בשפע או במחסור.

13 כל זאת משום שאני מסוגל לעשות כל מה שאלוהים רוצה שאעשה, בעזרת המשיח שנותן לי כוח.

14 ובכל זאת, נהגתם יפה מאוד כשעזרתם לי במצוקתי הנוכחית.

15 כידוע לכם, כשעזבתי את מקדוניה ובאתי לספר לכם את הבשורה בפעם הראשונה, רק אתם, אנשי פיליפי, עזרתם לי מבחינה כלכלית. אף קהילה אחרת לא עזרה לי,

16 גם בהיותי בתסלוניקי שלחתם לי מתנות פעמיים.

17 אני מעריך מאוד את מתנותיכם, אבל מעל לכל אני שמח על הגמול שייתן לכם אלוהים בעד טוב-לבכם.

18 כרגע יש לי את כל מה שאני צריך, ואפילו יותר ממה שאני צריך! עדיין נשאר לי די והותר מהמתנות ששלחתם לי ביד אפפרודיטוס. אני יודע שמתנות אלה הן קורבן יקר מאוד, ואלוהים מעריך זאת.

19 אלוהים ייתן לכם כל מה שאתם צריכים, מתוך אוצרו בשמים, בזכות קורבנו של המשיח למעננו.

20 שבח ותהילת עולם לאבינו שבשמים. - אמן.

21 מסרו דרישת שלום חמה בשמי לכל המאמינים בפיליפי. גם האחים הנמצאים איתי כאן מוסרים דרישת שלום.

22 כל שאר המאמינים מוסרים דרישת שלום, במיוחד אלה שנמצאים בבית הקיסר.

23 חסד אדוננו ישוע המשיח עם רוחכם. - אמן.

Philippians 4

Christian Practices

1 So then, my brothers and sisters,t dear friends whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand in the Lord in this way, my dear friends!
2 I appeal to Euodia and to Syntyche to agree in the Lord.3 Yes, I say also to you, true companion,t help them. They have struggled together in the gospel ministryt along with me and Clement and my other coworkers, whose names are in the book of life.4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!5 Let everyone see your gentleness.t The Lord is near!6 Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and mindst in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters,t whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

9 And what you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

Appreciation for Support

10 I have great joy in the Lord because now at last you have again expressed your concern for me. (Now I know you were concerned before but had no opportunity to do anything.)t11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance.12 I have experienced times of need and times of abundance. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment,t whether I go satisfied or hungry, have plenty or nothing.13 I am able to do all thingst through the ones who strengthens me.

14 Nevertheless, you did well to share with me in my trouble.
15 And as you Philippians know, at the beginning of my gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in this matter of giving and receiving except you alone.16 For even in Thessalonicas on more than one occasiont you sent something for my need.17 I do not say this because I am seeking a gift.t Rather, I seek the credit that abounds to your account.18 For I have received everything, and I have plenty. I have all I need because I received from Epaphroditus what you sent – a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, very pleasing to God.19 And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious richest in Christ Jesus.

20 May glory be given to God our Father forever and ever. Amen.

21 Give greetings to all the saints in Christ Jesus. The brotherst with me here send greetings.22 All the saints greet you, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.
