Salmos 16

1 Cuídame, oh Dios, porque en ti busco refugio.
2 Yo le he dicho al Señor: «Mi Señor eres tú.
Fuera de ti, no poseo bien alguno.» 3 Poderosos son los sacerdotes *paganos del país,
según todos sus seguidores.s
4 Pero aumentarán los dolores
de los que corren tras ellos. ¡Jamás derramaré sus sangrientas libaciones, ni con mis labios pronunciaré sus nombres! 5 Tú, Señor, eres mi porción y mi copa;
eres tú quien ha afirmado mi suerte. 6 Bellos lugares me han tocado en suerte;
¡preciosa herencia me ha correspondido! 7 Bendeciré al Señor, que me aconseja;
aun de noche me reprende mi conciencia. 8 Siempre tengo presente al Señor;
con él a mi derecha, nada me hará caer. 9 Por eso mi *corazón se alegra,
y se regocijan mis entrañas;s
todo mi ser se llena de confianza. 10 No dejarás que mi vida termine en el *sepulcro;
no permitirás que sufra corrupción tu siervo fiel. 11 Me has dado a conocer la senda de la vida;
me llenarás de alegría en tu presencia, y de dicha eterna a tu derecha.

PSALMS 16

The Best Choice

1 Protect me, [Lord] God!
I run to you for safety,

2 and I have said,
“Only you are my Lord!
Every good thing I have
is a gift from you.”

3 Your people are wonderful,
and they make me happy, t

4 but worshipers of other gods
will have much sorrow.t
I refuse to offer sacrifices
of blood to those gods
or worship in their name.

5 You, [Lord], are all I want!
You are my choice,
and you keep me safe.

6 You make my life pleasant,
and my future is bright.

7 I praise you, [Lord],
for being my guide.
Even in the darkest night,
your teachings fill my mind.

8  t I will always look to you,
as you stand beside me
and protect me from fear.

9 With all my heart,
I will celebrate,
and I can safely rest.

10  t I am your chosen one.
You won't leave me in the grave
or let my body decay.

11 You have shown me
the path to life,
and you make me glad
by being near to me.
Sitting at your right side, t
I will always be joyful.
