Salmos 33

1 Canten al Señor con alegría, ustedes los justos;
es propio de los íntegros alabar al Señor.
2 Alaben al Señor al son del arpa;
entonen alabanzas con el decacordio. 3 Cántenle una canción nueva;
toquen con destreza, y den voces de alegría. 4 La palabra del Señor es justa;
fieles son todas sus obras. 5 El Señor ama la *justicia y el derecho;
llena está la tierra de su amor. 6 Por la palabra del Señor fueron creados los cielos,
y por el soplo de su boca, las estrellas. 7 Él recoge en un cántaro el agua de los mares,
y junta en vasijas los océanos. 8 Tema toda la tierra al Señor;
hónrenlo todos los pueblos del mundo; 9 porque él habló, y todo fue creado;
dio una orden, y todo quedó firme. 10 El Señor frustra los planes de las naciones;
desbarata los designios de los pueblos. 11 Pero los planes del Señor quedan firmes para siempre;
los designios de su *mente son eternos. 12 Dichosa la nación cuyo Dios es el Señor,
el pueblo que escogió por su heredad. 13 El Señor observa desde el cielo
y ve a toda la *humanidad; 14 él contempla desde su trono
a todos los habitantes de la tierra. 15 Él es quien formó el *corazón de todos,
y quien conoce a fondo todas sus acciones. 16 No se salva el rey por sus muchos soldados,
ni por su mucha fuerza se libra el valiente. 17 Vana esperanza de *victoria es el caballo;
a pesar de su mucha fuerza no puede salvar. 18 Pero el Señor cuida de los que le temen,
de los que esperan en su gran amor; 19 él los libra de la muerte,
y en épocas de hambre los mantiene con vida. 20 Esperamos confiados en el Señor;
él es nuestro socorro y nuestro escudo. 21 En él se regocija nuestro corazón,
porque confiamos en su santo *nombre. 22 Que tu gran amor, Señor, nos acompañe,
tal como lo esperamos de ti.

PSALMS 33

Sing Praises to the [Lord]

1 You are the [Lord]'s people.
Obey him and celebrate!
He deserves your praise.

2 Praise the [Lord] with harps!
Use harps with ten strings
to make music for him.

3 Sing a new song. Shout!
Play beautiful music.

4 The [Lord] is truthful;
he can be trusted.

5 He loves justice and fairness,
and he is kind to everyone
everywhere on earth.

6 The [Lord] made the heavens
and everything in them
by his word.

7 He scooped up the ocean
and stored the water.

8 Everyone in this world
should worship and honor
the [Lord]!

9 As soon as he spoke
the world was created;
at his command,
the earth was formed.

10 The [Lord] destroys the plans
and spoils the schemes
of the nations.

11 But what the [Lord] has planned
will stand forever.
His thoughts never change.

12 The [Lord] blesses each nation
that worships only him.
He blesses his chosen ones.

13 The [Lord] looks at the world

14 from his throne in heaven,
and he watches us all.

15 The [Lord] gave us each a mind,
and nothing we do
can be hidden from him.

16  t Mighty armies alone
cannot win wars for a king;
great strength by itself
cannot keep a soldier safe.

17 In war the strength of a horse
cannot be trusted
to take you to safety.

18 But the [Lord] watches over
all
who honor him
and trust his kindness.

19 He protects them from death
and starvation.

20 We depend on you, [Lord],
to help and protect us.

21 You make our hearts glad
because we trust you,
the only God.

22 Be kind and bless us!
We depend on you.
