Salmos 34

1 Bendeciré al Señor en todo tiempo;
mis labios siempre lo alabarán. 2 Mi *alma se gloría en el Señor;
lo oirán los humildes y se alegrarán. 3 Engrandezcan al Señor conmigo;
exaltemos a una su *nombre. 4 Busqué al Señor, y él me respondió;
me libró de todos mis temores. 5 Radiantes están los que a él acuden;
jamás su rostro se cubre de vergüenza. 6 Este pobre clamó, y el Señor le oyó
y lo libró de todas sus angustias. 7 El ángel del Señor acampa en torno a los que le temen;
a su lado está para librarlos. 8 Prueben y vean que el Señor es bueno;
*dichosos los que en él se refugian. 9 Teman al Señor, ustedes sus santos,
pues nada les falta a los que le temen. 10 Los leoncillos se debilitan y tienen hambre,
pero a los que buscan al Señor nada les falta.
11 Vengan, hijos míos, y escúchenme,
que voy a enseñarles el temor del Señor.
12 El que quiera amar la vida
y gozar de días felices, 13 que refrene su lengua de hablar el mal
y sus labios de proferir engaños; 14 que se aparte del mal y haga el bien;
que busque la *paz y la siga. 15 Los ojos del Señor están sobre los justos,
y sus oídos, atentos a sus oraciones; 16 el rostro del Señor está contra los que hacen el mal,
para borrar de la tierra su memoria. 17 Los justos claman, y el Señor los oye;
los libra de todas sus angustias. 18 El Señor está cerca de los quebrantados de corazón,
y salva a los de espíritu abatido. 19 Muchas son las angustias del justo,
pero el Señor lo librará de todas ellas;
20 le protegerá todos los huesos,
y ni uno solo le quebrarán. 21 La maldad destruye a los malvados;
serán condenados los enemigos de los justos. 22 El Señor libra a sus siervos;
no serán condenados los que en él confían.

PSALMS 34

Honor the [Lord]

1  t I will always praise the [Lord].

2 With all my heart,
I will praise the [Lord].
Let all who are helpless,
listen and be glad.

3 Honor the [Lord] with me!
Celebrate his great name.

4 I asked the [Lord] for help,
and he saved me
from all my fears.

5 Keep your eyes on the [Lord]!
You will shine like the sun
and never blush with shame.

6 I was a nobody, but I prayed,
and the [Lord] saved me
from all my troubles.

7 If you honor the [Lord],
his angel will protect you.

8  t Discover for yourself
that the [Lord] is kind.
Come to him for protection,
and you will be glad.

9 Honor the [Lord]!
You are his special people.
No one who honors the [Lord]
will ever be in need.

10 Young lionst may go hungry
or even starve,
but if you trust the [Lord],
you will never miss out
on anything good.

11 Come, my children, listen
as I teach you
to respect the [Lord].

12  t Do you want to live
and enjoy a long life?

13 Then don't say cruel things
and don't tell lies.

14 Do good instead of evil
and try to live at peace.

15 If you obey the [Lord],
he will watch over you
and answer your prayers.

16 But God despises evil people,
and he will wipe them all
from the earth,
till they are forgotten.

17 When his people pray for help,
he listens and rescues them
from their troubles.

18 The [Lord] is there to rescue
all
who are discouraged
and have given up hope.

19 The [Lord]'s people
may suffer a lot,
but he will always
bring them safely through.

20  t Not one of their bones
will ever be broken.

21 Wicked people are killed
by their own evil deeds,
and if you hate God's people
you will be punished.

22 The [Lord] saves the lives
of his servants.
Run to him for protection,
and you won't be punished.
