Salmos 4

1 Responde a mi clamor,
Dios mío y defensor mío. Dame alivio cuando esté angustiado, apiádate de mí y escucha mi oración. 2 Y ustedes, señores,
¿hasta cuándo cambiarán mi gloria en vergüenza? ¿Hasta cuándo amarán ídolos vanos e irán en pos de lo ilusorio? *Selah 3 Sepan que el Señor honra al que le es fiel;
el Señor me escucha cuando lo llamo.
4 Si se enojan, no pequen;
en la quietud del descanso nocturno examínense el *corazón. Selah 5 Ofrezcan sacrificios de *justicia
y confíen en el Señor.
6 Muchos son los que dicen:
«¿Quién puede mostrarnos algún bien?» ¡Haz, Señor, que sobre nosotros
brille la luz de tu rostro! 7 Tú has hecho que mi corazón rebose de alegría,
alegría mayor que la que tienen los que disfrutan de trigo y vino en abundancia. 8 En *paz me acuesto y me duermo,
porque sólo tú, Señor, me haces vivir confiado.

An Evening Prayer

1 You are my God and protector.
Please answer my prayer.
I was in terrible distress,
but you set me free.
Now have pity and listen
as I pray.

2 How long will you people
refuse to respect me?t
You love foolish things,
and you run after
what is worthless.t

3 The [Lord] has chosen
everyone who is faithful
to be his very own, t
and he answers my prayers.

4  t But each of you
had better tremble
and turn from your sins.
Silently search your heart
as you lie in bed.

5 Offer the proper sacrifices
and trust the [Lord].

6 There are some who ask,
“Who will be good to us?”
Let your kindness, [Lord],
shine brightly on us.

7 You brought me more happiness
than a rich harvest
of grain and grapes.

8 I can lie down
and sleep soundly
because you, [Lord],
will keep me safe.
