Psalm 47

1 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!

Praise to God, the Ruler of the EarthTo the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

2 For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.3 He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet.4 He will choose our inheritance for us, The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah5 God has gone up with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.6 Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!7 For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.9 The princes of the people have gathered together, The people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.

God Rules the Nations

1 All of you nations,
clap your hands and shout
joyful praises to God.

2 The [Lord] Most High is fearsome,
the ruler of all the earth.

3 God has put every nation
under our power,

4 and he chose for us the land
that was the pride of Jacob,
his favorite.

5 God goes up to his throne,
as people shout
and trumpets blast.

6 Sing praises to God our King,

7 the ruler of all the earth!
Praise God with songs.

8 God rules the nations
from his sacred throne.

9 Their leaders come together
and are now the people
of Abraham's God.
All rulers on earth
surrender their weapons,
and God is greatly praised!
