APOCALISSE 1

1 La rivelazione di Gesù Cristo, che Dio gli ha data per mostrare ai suoi servitori le cose che debbono avvenire in breve; ed egli l'ha fatta conoscere mandandola per mezzo del suo angelo al suo servitore Giovanni, 2 il quale ha attestato la parola di Dio e la testimonianza di Gesù Cristo, tutto ciò ch'egli ha veduto. 3 Beato chi legge e beati coloro che ascoltano le parole di questa profezia e serbano le cose che sono scritte in essa, poiché il tempo è vicino! 4 Giovanni alle sette chiese che sono nell'Asia: Grazia a voi e pace da Colui che è, che era e che viene, e dai sette Spiriti che son davanti al suo trono, 5 e da Gesù Cristo, il fedel testimone, il primogenito dei morti e il principe dei re della terra. A lui che ci ama, e ci ha liberati dai nostri peccati col suo sangue, 6 e ci ha fatti essere un regno e sacerdoti all'Iddio e Padre suo, a lui siano la gloria e l'imperio nei secoli dei secoli. Amen. 7 Ecco, egli viene colle nuvole; ed ogni occhio lo vedrà; lo vedranno anche quelli che lo trafissero, e tutte le tribù della terra faranno cordoglio per lui. Sì, Amen. 8 Io son l'Alfa e l'Omega, dice il Signore Iddio che è, che era e che viene, l'Onnipotente. 9 Io, Giovanni, vostro fratello e partecipe con voi della tribolazione, del regno e della costanza in Gesù, ero nell'isola chiamata Patmo a motivo della parola di Dio e della testimonianza di Gesù. 10 Fui rapito in Ispirito nel giorno di Domenica, e udii dietro a me una gran voce, come d'una tromba, che diceva: 11 Quel che tu vedi, scrivilo in un libro e mandalo alle sette chiese: a Efeso, a Smirne, a Pergamo, a Tiatiri, a Sardi, a Filadelfia e a Laodicea. 12 E io mi voltai per veder la voce che mi parlava; e come mi fui voltato, vidi sette candelabri d'oro; 13 e in mezzo ai candelabri Uno somigliante a un figliuol d'uomo, vestito d'una veste lunga fino ai piedi, e cinto d'una cintura d'oro all'altezza del petto. 14 E il suo capo e i suoi capelli erano bianchi come candida lana, come neve; e i suoi occhi erano come una fiamma di fuoco; 15 e i suoi piedi eran simili a terso rame, arroventato in una fornace; e la sua voce era come la voce di molte acque. 16 Ed egli teneva nella sua man destra sette stelle; e dalla sua bocca usciva una spada a due tagli, acuta, e il suo volto era come il sole quando splende nella sua forza. 17 E quando l'ebbi veduto, caddi ai suoi piedi come morto; ed egli mise la sua man destra su di me, dicendo: Non temere; 18 io sono il primo e l'ultimo, e il Vivente; e fui morto, ma ecco son vivente per i secoli dei secoli, e tengo le chiavi della morte e dell'Ades. 19 Scrivi dunque le cose che hai vedute, quelle che sono e quelle che devono avvenire in appresso, 20 il mistero delle sette stelle che hai vedute nella mia destra, e dei sette candelabri d'oro. Le sette stelle sono gli angeli delle sette chiese, e i sette candelabri sono le sette chiese.

REVELATION 1

1 This is what God showed to Jesus Christ, so that he could tell his servants what must happen soon. Christ then sent his angel with the message to his servant John.

2 And John told everything he had seen about God's message and about what Jesus Christ had said and done.

3 God will bless everyone who reads this prophecy to others, t and he will bless everyone who hears and obeys it. The time is almost here.

I pray that you
will be blessed
with kindness and peace
from God, who is and was
and is coming.
May you receive
kindness and peace
from the seven spirits
before the throne of God.

5  t May kindness and peace
be yours
from Jesus Christ,
the faithful witness.
Jesus was the first
to conquer death,
and he is the ruler
of all earthly kings.
Christ loves us,
and by his blood
he set us free
from our sins.

6  t He lets us rule as kings
and serve God his Father
as priests.
To him be glory and power
forever and ever! Amen.

7  t Look! He is coming
with the clouds.
Everyone will see him,
even the ones who stuck
a sword through him.
All people on earth
will weep because of him.
Yes, it will happen! Amen.

8  t The Lord God says, “I am Alpha and Omega, t the one who is and was and is coming. I am God All-Powerful!”

A Vision of the Risen Lord

11 The voice said, “Write in a book what you see. Then send it to the seven churches in Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”t
12 When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lampstands. 13 t There with the lampstands was someone who seemed to be the Son of Man.t He was wearing a robe that reached down to his feet, and a gold cloth was wrapped around his chest. 14 t t His head and his hair were white as wool or snow, and his eyes looked like flames of fire. 15 t His feet were glowing like bronze being heated in a furnace, and his voice sounded like the roar of a waterfall.

16 He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp double-edged sword was coming from his mouth. His face was shining as bright as the sun at noon.

17  t When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead person. But he put his right hand on me and said:
Don't be afraid! I am the first, the last, 18 and the living one. I died, but now I am alive forever, and I have the keys to death and the world of the dead.t 19 Write what you have seen and what is and what will happen after these things. 20 I will explain the mystery of the seven stars you saw at my right side and the seven gold lampstands. The seven stars are the angelst of the seven churches, and the lampstands are the seven churches.
