ヨハネの黙示録 12

一二

1 また、やがて何かが起こることを暗示する、大きなしるしが天に描き出されました。　一人の女が太陽をまとい、月を踏みつけ、十二の星の冠をかぶっている姿が見えました。　2 この女は妊娠していましたが、出産を間近に控え、陣痛の苦しみに、大声でうめいていました。
3 すると、突然、巨大な赤い竜が現われました。　七つの頭と十本の角を持ち、七つの冠をかぶっていました。　4 そして、しっぽで、天の星の三分の一を払い落とし、地上にばらまきました。　また、子供を産もうとしている女の前に立ちはだかり、生まれおちた子を、すぐに食べようと、待ちかまえていました。　5 女は男の子を産みました。　将来、その子は強大な権力を握り、すべての国の王になると約束されていました。　その子は神様のそばの王座へ引き上げられ、6 女は荒野に逃げのびました。　そこには、神様の用意された場所があり、彼女は千二百六十日の間、かくまわれたのです。
7 やがて、天で戦争が始まりました。　ミカエルと部下の御使いたちは、竜とその手下の堕落した御使いたち相手に戦いました。　8 とうとう竜は敗れ、天から追放されることになりました。　9 こうして、この巨大な竜、悪魔とかサタンとか呼ばれ、全世界をだまし続けてきた、古い大蛇は、手下もろとも、地上に投げ落とされてしまったのです。
10 そのとき私は、天のすみずみにとどろき渡る、大声を聞きました。　「ついに時が来た。　神様の救いと力と支配と、キリスト様の権威とが、完全に現わされる時が来た。　クリスチャンを、昼となく夜となく、神様の前で非難してきた者が、地上に投げ落とされたから。　11 クリスチャンは、小羊の血と自らの証言によって、打ち勝った。　いのちを惜しまず、小羊のために投げ出したのである。　12 天よ、喜べ。　天に住む者よ、喜べ。　しかし、地上の人々には災いがのぞむ。　悪魔が、自分の時の残り少ないことを知って、怒りに燃え、あなたがたのところに下って行ったからだ。」
13 竜は、自分が地上に投げ落とされたことに気づくと、男の子を産んだ女を追いかけました。　14 しかし女は、大わしのような翼を二つ与えられ、荒野へ飛んで行きました。　そこには、彼女のために場所が用意されており、そこで三年半の間、竜である大蛇を避けて、安全に暮らすことができるのです。
15 ところが、大蛇は水を洪水のように吐き出し、女を殺そうと迫りました。　16 しかし、大地は口を大きく開けて水を飲み干し、危機一髪で女を助けたのです。　17 怒り狂った竜は、今度は女の子孫の生存者、すなわち神様のおきてを守り、自分はイエス様に属する者だと、はっきり告白した者たちに、攻撃のほこ先を向けました。　18 そして、海辺の砂の上で、待ちかまえていました。竜の奇蹟

Revelation 12

1 And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;2 and she was the child; and she crieth out, travailing in birth, and in pain to be delivered.3 And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems.4 And his tail draweth the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon standeth before the woman that is about to be delivered, that when she is delivered he may devour her child.5 And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne.6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days.7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels going forth to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels;8 And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.10 And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night.11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life even unto death.12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe for the earth and for the sea: because the devil is gone down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.

13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth the man child.14 And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water as a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.17 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus:
