Apocalypse 12

La femme et le dragon

1 Un grand signe apparaît dans le ciel : c’est une femme. Le soleil l’enveloppe comme un vêtement, la lune est sous ses pieds. Sur la tête, elle porte une couronne de douze étoiles.

2 Elle va bientôt mettre au monde un enfant, et les souffrances de l’accouchement la font crier.
3 Un autre signe apparaît dans le ciel : c’est un grand dragont. Il est rouge comme le feu, il a sept têtes et dix cornes, et sur chaque tête, il porte une couronne. 4 Avec sa queue, il balaie le tiers des étoiles du ciel et il les jette sur la terre. Le dragon se place devant la femme qui va accoucher, pour dévorer l’enfant dès sa naissance. 5 La femme met au monde un fils. C’est ce garçon qui va diriger tous les peuples très durement. Mais cet enfant est emporté auprès de Dieu et de son siège royal.

6 Alors la femme s’enfuit dans le désert. Là, Dieu lui a préparé une place, pour qu’on lui donne à manger pendant 1 260 jourst.
7 Puis il y a un combat dans le ciel. Michel et ses anges luttent contre le dragon. Le dragon lutte, lui aussi, avec ses anges, 8 mais il n’est pas le plus fort. Ils n’ont pas le droit de rester dans le ciel,

9 et le grand dragon est jeté dehors. Ce dragon, c’est le serpent des premiers jours, il est appelé l’esprit du mal et Satan, il trompe le monde entier. Il est donc jeté sur la terre et ses anges avec lui.

10 J’entends une voix forte dans le ciel. Elle dit :
« Maintenant, c’est le moment où Dieu sauve,
maintenant, notre Dieu est roi avec puissance,
maintenant, son Messie montre son pouvoir.
En effet, il a été jeté dehors,
celui qui accusait nos frères et nos sœurs
devant notre Dieu,
celui qui les accusait jour et nuit.

11 Mais eux, ils l’ont vaincu
grâce au sang de l’Agneau
et en rendant témoignage à la parole de Dieu.
Ils ont accepté de donner leur vie et de mourir.

12 Soyez donc dans la joie,
vous, le ciel et ses habitants !
Mais quel malheur pour vous,
la terre et la mer !
L’esprit du mal est descendu chez vous
et il est très en colère,
parce qu’il a peu de temps et il le sait. »
13 Quand le dragon voit qu’il a été jeté sur la terre, il poursuit la femme qui a mis au monde un garçon. 14 Mais la femme reçoit les deux ailes du grand aigle. Elle peut donc s’envoler dans le désert, à l’endroit préparé pour elle, loin du serpent. Là, elle reçoit de la nourriture pendant trois ans et demi. 15 Alors le serpent crache de l’eau comme un fleuve derrière la femme, pour que l’eau l’emporte. 16 Mais la terre vient aider la femme : la terre s’ouvre et elle avale le fleuve que le dragon a craché. 17 Le dragon est très en colère contre la femme et il part faire la guerre contre le reste de ses enfants, ceux-là qui obéissent aux commandements de Dieu et qui sont les témoins de Jésus. 18 Puis le dragon se place au bord de la mer.

REVELATION 12

The Woman and the Dragon

1 Something important appeared in the sky. It was a woman whose clothes were the sun. The moon was under her feet, and a crown made of twelve stars was on her head.

2 She was about to give birth, and she was crying because of the great pain.
3  t Something else appeared in the sky. It was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and a crown on each of its seven heads.

4 t With its tail, it dragged a third of the stars from the sky and threw them down to the earth. Then the dragon turned toward the woman, because it wanted to eat her child as soon as it was born.
5  t The woman gave birth to a son, who would rule all nations with an iron rod. The boy was snatched away. He was taken to God and placed on his throne.

6 The woman ran into the desert to a place that God had prepared for her. There she would be taken care of for 1,260 days.

Michael Fights the Dragon

10 t Then I heard a voice from heaven shout,
“Our God has shown
his saving power,
and his kingdom has come!
God's own Chosen One
has shown his authority.
Satan accused our people
in the presence of God
day and night.
Now he has been thrown out!

11 “Our people defeated Satan
because of the bloodt
of the Lamb
and the message of God.
They were willing
to give up their lives.

12 “The heavens should rejoice,
together with everyone
who lives there.
But pity the earth
and the sea,
because the devil
was thrown down
to the earth.
He knows his time is short,
and he is very angry.”
13 When the dragon realized it had been thrown down to the earth, it tried to make trouble for the woman who had given birth to a son.

14 t But the woman was given two wings like those of a huge eagle, so she could fly into the desert. There she would escape from the snake and be taken care of for a time, two times, and half a time.
15 The snake then spewed out water like a river to sweep the woman away. 16 But the earth helped her and swallowed the water that had come from the dragon's mouth. 17 This made the dragon terribly angry with the woman. So it started a war against the rest of her children. They are the people who obey God and are faithful to what Jesus did and taught. 18 The dragont stood on the beach beside the sea.
