요한계시록 12

여자와 용

1 그리고 하늘에 큰 표징이 나타났는데, 한 여자가 해를 둘러 걸치고, 달을 그 발 밑에 밟고, 열두 별이 박힌 면류관을 머리에 쓰고 있었습니다. 2 이 여자는 아이를 배고 있었는데, 해산의 진통과 괴로움으로 울고 있었습니다. 3 또 다른 표징이 하늘에서 나타났습니다. 머리 일곱 개와 뿔 열 개가 달린 커다란 붉은 용 한 마리가 있는데, 그 머리에는 왕관을 일곱 개 쓰고 있었습니다. 4 그 용은 그 꼬리로 하늘의 별 삼분의 일을 휩쓸어서, 땅으로 내던졌습니다. 그 용은 막 해산하려고 하는 그 여자 앞에 서서, 그 여자가 아기를 낳기만 하면 삼켜 버리려고 노리고 있었습니다. 5 마침내 그 여자는 아들을 낳았습니다. t그 아기는 장차 쇠지팡이로 만국을 t다스리실 분이었습니다. 별안간 그 아기는 하나님께로, 곧 그분의 보좌로 이끌려 올라갔고, 6 그 여자는 광야로 도망을 쳤습니다. 거기에는 천이백육십 일 동안 사람들이 그 여자를 먹여 살리도록 하나님께서 마련해 주신 곳이 있었습니다. 7 그 때에 하늘에서 전쟁이 일어났습니다. 미가엘과 미가엘의 천사들은 용과 맞서서 싸웠습니다. 용과 용의 부하들이 이에 맞서서 싸웠지만, 8 당해 내지 못하였으므로, 하늘에서는 더 이상 그들이 발 붙일 자리가 없었습니다. 9 그래서 그 큰 용, 곧 그 옛 뱀은 땅으로 내쫓겼습니다. 그 큰 용은 악마라고도 하고, 사탄이라고도 하는데, 온 세계를 미혹하던 자입니다. 그 용의 부하들도 그와 함께 땅으로 내쫓겼습니다. 10 그 때에 내가 들으니, 하늘에서 큰 음성이 이렇게 울려 나왔습니다. “이제 우리 하나님의 구원과 권능과 나라가 이루어지고 하나님이 세우신 t 그리스도의 권세가 나타났다. 우리의 t동료들을 헐뜯는 자, 우리 하나님 앞에서 밤낮으로 그들을 헐뜯는 자가 내쫓겼다.

11 우리의 동료들은 어린 양이 흘린 피와 자기들이 증언한 말씀을 힘입어서 그 악마를 이겨 냈다. 그들은 죽기까지 목숨을 아끼지 않았다.

12 그러므로 하늘아, 그리고 그 안에 사는 자들아, 즐거워하여라. 그러나 땅과 바다는 화가 있다. 악마가, 자기 때가 얼마 남지 않은 것을 알고, 몹시 성이 나서 너희에게 내려갔기 때문이다.”

13 그 용은 자기가 땅으로 내쫓겼음을 알고, 남자 아이를 낳은 그 여자를 t쫓아갔습니다. 14 그러나 그 여자는 큰 독수리의 두 날개를 받아 가지고 광야에 있는 자기 은신처로 날아가서, 거기에서 뱀을 피해서, 한 때와 두 때와 반 때 동안 부양을 받았습니다. 15 그 뱀은 그 여자의 등 뒤에다가 입에서 물을 강물과 같이 토해 내서, 강물로 그 여자를 휩쓸어 버리려고 하였습니다. 16 그러나 땅이 그 여자를 도와주니, 땅이 입을 벌려서, 용이 입에서 토해 낸 강물을 삼켰습니다. 17 그래서 그 용은 그 여자에게 노해서, 그 여자의 남아 있는 자손, 곧 하나님의 계명을 지키며 예수의 증언을 간직하고 있는 사람들과 싸우려고 떠나갔습니다. 18  t그 때에 그 용이 바닷가 모래 위에 섰습니다.

REVELATION 12

The Woman and the Dragon

1 Something important appeared in the sky. It was a woman whose clothes were the sun. The moon was under her feet, and a crown made of twelve stars was on her head.

2 She was about to give birth, and she was crying because of the great pain.
3  t Something else appeared in the sky. It was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and a crown on each of its seven heads.

4 t With its tail, it dragged a third of the stars from the sky and threw them down to the earth. Then the dragon turned toward the woman, because it wanted to eat her child as soon as it was born.
5  t The woman gave birth to a son, who would rule all nations with an iron rod. The boy was snatched away. He was taken to God and placed on his throne.

6 The woman ran into the desert to a place that God had prepared for her. There she would be taken care of for 1,260 days.

Michael Fights the Dragon

10 t Then I heard a voice from heaven shout,
“Our God has shown
his saving power,
and his kingdom has come!
God's own Chosen One
has shown his authority.
Satan accused our people
in the presence of God
day and night.
Now he has been thrown out!

11 “Our people defeated Satan
because of the bloodt
of the Lamb
and the message of God.
They were willing
to give up their lives.

12 “The heavens should rejoice,
together with everyone
who lives there.
But pity the earth
and the sea,
because the devil
was thrown down
to the earth.
He knows his time is short,
and he is very angry.”
13 When the dragon realized it had been thrown down to the earth, it tried to make trouble for the woman who had given birth to a son.

14 t But the woman was given two wings like those of a huge eagle, so she could fly into the desert. There she would escape from the snake and be taken care of for a time, two times, and half a time.
15 The snake then spewed out water like a river to sweep the woman away. 16 But the earth helped her and swallowed the water that had come from the dragon's mouth. 17 This made the dragon terribly angry with the woman. So it started a war against the rest of her children. They are the people who obey God and are faithful to what Jesus did and taught. 18 The dragont stood on the beach beside the sea.
