Sedm číší Božího hněvu

1 Tehdy jsem uslyšel z chrámu mocný hlas, jak říká těm sedmi andělům: „Jděte, vylijte těch sedm číší Božího hněvu na zem.“

2 První odešel, vylil svou číši na zem a na lidech, kteří měli znamení šelmy, i na těch, kteří se klaněli jejímu obrazu, vyvstaly zlé a zhoubné vředy.

3 Druhý pak vylil svou číši do moře. To se obrátilo jakoby v krev mrtvého a veškerá živá duše v moři zemřela.

4 Třetí pak vylil svou číši na řeky a na prameny vod a obrátily se v krev. 5 A slyšel jsem anděla vod, jak říká:
„Jsi spravedlivý, ty Svatý,
ty, který jsi a kterýs byl,
že jsi to usoudil! 6 Protože prolévali krev svatých a proroků,
tys jim dal pít krev, jak si zaslouží.“ 7 Tehdy jsem uslyšel, jak se od oltáře ozvalo:
„Ano, Pane Bože Všemohoucí,
tvé soudy jsou pravdivé a spravedlivé.“ 8 Čtvrtý pak vylil svou číši na slunce a bylo mu dáno pálit lidi ohněm. 9 Lidé byli páleni velikým žárem a rouhali se jménu Boha, který má moc nad těmi ranami, avšak nečinili pokání, aby mu vzdali slávu.

10 Pátý pak vylil svou číši na trůn té šelmy a její království bylo zatemněno. Lidé se bolestí kousali do jazyka 11 a rouhali se nebeskému Bohu pro své bolesti a pro své vředy, avšak nečinili pokání ze svých skutků.

12 Šestý pak vylil svou číši na tu velikou řeku Eufrat a její voda vyschla, aby byla připravena cesta králům od východu slunce. 13 Tehdy jsem uviděl z úst draka, z úst šelmy a z úst falešného proroka vycházet tři nečisté duchy podobné žabám. 14 Jsou to duchové démonů, kteří konají divy a vycházejí ke králům země a celého světa, aby je shromáždili k bitvě toho velikého dne Všemohoucího Boha.

15 „Hle, přicházím jako zloděj. Blaze tomu, kdo bdí a střeží svá roucha, aby nechodil nahý a nebyla vidět jeho hanba.“

16 A shromáždil je na místo, které se hebrejsky jmenuje Armagedon.

17 Sedmý pak vylil svou číši na ovzduší a z chrámu zazněl od trůnu mocný hlas: „Stalo se!“ 18 Nastaly hlasy, hromobití, blýskání a veliké zemětřesení – tak veliké zemětřesení, jaké nebylo, co jsou lidé na zemi. 19 To veliké město se tehdy roztrhlo na tři díly a města národů padla. Veliký Babylon byl připomenut před Boží tváří a Bůh mu dal kalich s vínem svého vášnivého hněvu. 20 Tehdy zmizely všechny ostrovy a hory se nedaly najít. 21 Z nebe padaly na lidi veliké kroupy těžké jako cent. A kvůli ráně těch krup se lidé rouhali Bohu, neboť ta rána byla nesmírně veliká.

Revelation 16

The Bowls of God’s Wrath

1 Thent I heard a loud voice from the temple declaring to the seven angels: “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls containing God’s wrath.”t

2 Sot the first angelt went and poured out his bowl on the earth. Thent ugly and painful sorest appeared on the peoplet who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

3 Next,t the second angelt poured out his bowl on the sea and it turned into blood, like that of a corpse, and every living creature that was in the sea died.
4 Thent the third angelt poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they turned into blood.

5 Nowt I heard the angel of the waters saying:
“You are justt – the one who is and who was,
the Holy One – because you have passed these judgments,t

6 because they poured out the blood of your saints and prophets,
sot you have given them blood to drink. They got what they deserved!”t

7 Thent I heard the altar reply,t “Yes, Lord God, the All-Powerful,t your judgments are true and just!”
8 Thent the fourth angelt poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was permitted to scorch peoplet with fire.

9 Thust peoplet were scorched by the terrible heat,t yett they blasphemed the name of God, who has ruling authorityt over these plagues, and they would not repent and give him glory.
10 Thent the fifth angelt poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast so thatt darkness covered his kingdom,t and peoplet began to bitet their tongues becauset of their pain.

11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their sufferingst and because of their sores,t but neverthelesst they still refused to repentt of their deeds.
12 Thent the sixth angelt poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates and dried up its watert to prepare the wayt for the kings from the east.t13 Thent I saw three unclean spiritss that looked like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14 For they are the spirits of the demons performing signs who go out to the kings of the eartht to bring them together for the battle that will take place on the great day of God, the All-Powerful.t

15 (Look! I will come like a thief!
Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not loset his clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful conditiont be seen.)s

16 Nowt the spiritst gathered the kings and their armiest to the place that is called Armageddonst in Hebrew.
17 Finallyt the seventh angelt poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying: “It is done!”18 Thent there were flashes of lightning, roaring,t and crashes of thunder, and there was a tremendous earthquake – an earthquake unequaled since humanityt has been on the earth, so tremendous was that earthquake.19 Thet great city was split into three parts and the cities of the nationst collapsed.t Sot Babylon the great was remembered before God, and was given the cupt filled with the wine made of God’s furious wrath.t20 Everyt island fled awayt and no mountains could be found.s

21 And gigantic hailstones, weighing about a hundred poundst each, fell from heavent on people,t but theyt blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, since itt was so horrendous.t
