APOCALIPSIS 16

Las primeras seis plagas

1 Oí entonces una voz poderosa que desde el Templo ordenaba a los siete ángeles:
— Vayan a derramar sobre la tierra las siete copas de la ira de Diost.t

2 Partió el primer ángel, derramó su copa sobre la tierra y llagas repugnantes y dolorosas se abatieron sobre los que estaban tatuados con la marca de la bestia y adoraban su imagen.t

3 El segundo ángel derramó su copa sobre el mar, que se convirtió en sangre de cadáver; y todo aliento de vida marina pereció.t
4 El tercer ángel derramó su copa sobre los ríos y los manantiales, que también se convirtieron en sangre.

5 Y oí que el ángel de las aguas decía:
— Eres justo y has hecho justicia,
tú que eres santo
y que existes desde siempre.t

6 Ellos derramaron la sangre
de tus consagradost y profetas
y sangre les has dado tú a beber.
¡Bien merecido lo tienen!t

7 Oí también que alguien decía desde el altar:
— Efectivamente, Señor Dios, dueño de todo,
tú juzgas con verdad y con justicia.t
8 El cuarto ángel derramó su copa sobre el sol y se le concedió abrasar a los humanos.

9 Todos quedaron horriblemente calcinados; pero aun así, blasfemaban y se negaron a convertirse y a reconocer la grandeza de Dios, quien tiene en su mano tales calamidades.
10 El quinto ángel derramó su copa sobre el trono de la bestia, y su reino quedó sumido en tinieblas.t

11 En el paroxismo del dolor y acosada por sus llagas, la gente se mordía la lengua y renegaba del Dios del cielo; pero siguió sin convertirse.
12 El sexto ángel derramó su copa sobre el gran río Éufrates. El agua del río se secó y el cauce quedó convertido en camino para los reyes procedentes del estet.t 13 Y vi cómo de la boca del dragón, de la boca de la bestia y de la boca del falso profetat salían tres espíritus inmundos que parecían sapos.

14 Se trataba de espíritus diabólicos que realizaban prodigios y pretendían reunir a todos los poderosos del mundo con vistas a la batalla del gran día de Dios, el dueño de todo.
15 “Miren que llego como un ladrón. ¡Dichoso el que se mantenga vestido y vigilante! No tendrá que andar desnudo, y nadie verá sus vergüenzas”.t

16 Y reunieron a los reyes en el lugar llamado en hebreo Harmagedónt.

La séptima copa

17 El séptimo ángel derramó, finalmente, su copa en el aire, y una voz poderosa procedente del Templo, de junto al trono mismo, clamó:
— ¡Hecho está!
18 Hubo entonces relámpagos y truenos fragorosos, y un terremoto tan formidable como jamás se dio desde que el mundo es mundo.t 19 La gran ciudad se partió en tres; se desmoronaron las restantes ciudades del mundo, y Dios se acordó de la orgullosa Babilonia para hacerle apurar hasta las heces la copa de su terrible indignación.t 20 Desaparecieron todas las islas, y de los montes nunca más se supo.t 21 Una tromba de granizos descomunalest se abatió desde el cielo sobre la gente que, a pesar de todo y más todavía a causa del azote del granizo, terrible sobremanera, siguió blasfemando contra Dios.t

Revelation 16

The Bowls of God’s Wrath

1 Thent I heard a loud voice from the temple declaring to the seven angels: “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls containing God’s wrath.”t

2 Sot the first angelt went and poured out his bowl on the earth. Thent ugly and painful sorest appeared on the peoplet who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

3 Next,t the second angelt poured out his bowl on the sea and it turned into blood, like that of a corpse, and every living creature that was in the sea died.
4 Thent the third angelt poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they turned into blood.

5 Nowt I heard the angel of the waters saying:
“You are justt – the one who is and who was,
the Holy One – because you have passed these judgments,t

6 because they poured out the blood of your saints and prophets,
sot you have given them blood to drink. They got what they deserved!”t

7 Thent I heard the altar reply,t “Yes, Lord God, the All-Powerful,t your judgments are true and just!”
8 Thent the fourth angelt poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was permitted to scorch peoplet with fire.

9 Thust peoplet were scorched by the terrible heat,t yett they blasphemed the name of God, who has ruling authorityt over these plagues, and they would not repent and give him glory.
10 Thent the fifth angelt poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast so thatt darkness covered his kingdom,t and peoplet began to bitet their tongues becauset of their pain.

11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their sufferingst and because of their sores,t but neverthelesst they still refused to repentt of their deeds.
12 Thent the sixth angelt poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates and dried up its watert to prepare the wayt for the kings from the east.t13 Thent I saw three unclean spiritss that looked like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14 For they are the spirits of the demons performing signs who go out to the kings of the eartht to bring them together for the battle that will take place on the great day of God, the All-Powerful.t

15 (Look! I will come like a thief!
Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not loset his clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful conditiont be seen.)s

16 Nowt the spiritst gathered the kings and their armiest to the place that is called Armageddonst in Hebrew.
17 Finallyt the seventh angelt poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying: “It is done!”18 Thent there were flashes of lightning, roaring,t and crashes of thunder, and there was a tremendous earthquake – an earthquake unequaled since humanityt has been on the earth, so tremendous was that earthquake.19 Thet great city was split into three parts and the cities of the nationst collapsed.t Sot Babylon the great was remembered before God, and was given the cupt filled with the wine made of God’s furious wrath.t20 Everyt island fled awayt and no mountains could be found.s

21 And gigantic hailstones, weighing about a hundred poundst each, fell from heavent on people,t but theyt blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, since itt was so horrendous.t
