Die Schalen mit dem Zorn Gottes

1 tJetzt hörte ich, wie eine gewaltige Stimme aus dem Tempel den sieben Engeln zurief: »Geht und überschüttet die Erde mit den sieben Schalen des Zornes Gottes.«

2 tDa ging der erste Engel und goss seine Schale auf die Erde. Sofort bildeten sich bösartige und schmerzhafte Geschwüre bei allen Menschen, die das Zeichen des Tieres trugen und seine Statue angebetet hatten.3 tDer zweite Engel goss seine Schale in das Meer. Da wurde das Wasser zu Blut. Es war wie das Blut von einem Toten. Und alle Lebewesen im Meer verendeten.

4 Der dritte Engel goss seine Schale über die Flüsse und Quellen. Alles wurde zu Blut.5 Dabei hörte ich, wie der Engel, der über das Wasser herrscht, sagte: »Du hast dein Urteil gesprochen, du heiliger Gott, der du bist und immer warst. Dein Urteil ist richtig und gerecht.6 tSie haben alle getötet, die an dich glaubten, und sie haben das Blut deiner Propheten vergossen. Deshalb hast du ihnen dieses Blut zu trinken gegeben. Das haben sie verdient!«7 tUnd ich hörte, wie eine Stimme vom Altar her sagte: »Ja, Herr, du allmächtiger Gott! Deine Urteile sind wahr und gerecht.«8 Dann goss der vierte Engel seine Schale über die Sonne. Von nun an quälte sie die Menschen mit ihrem Feuer.9 tAlle Menschen litten unter der sengenden Glut. Doch keiner kehrte um und erkannte Gott als den Herrn an. Sie verfluchten vielmehr seinen Namen und lehnten sich weiter gegen ihn auf, der sie mit solch schrecklichen Katastrophen heimsuchte.10 tDer fünfte Engel schüttete seine Schale über dem Thron des Tieres aus. Da versank das Reich des Tieres in tiefste Finsternis. Die Menschen dort zerbissen sich vor Schmerzen die Zunge.11 Aber auch sie bereuten nichts und kehrten nicht um, sondern verfluchten Gott, weil sie solche Schmerzen und qualvollen Geschwüre ertragen mussten.

12 tDer sechste Engel goss seine Schale in den großen Fluss, den Euphrat. Der Fluss trocknete aus, so dass die Könige aus dem Osten ungehindert mit ihren Armeen in das Land eindringen konnten.13 tIch sah, wie aus dem Maul des Drachen, des Tieres und des falschen Propheten drei unreine Geister krochen, die wie Frösche aussahen.14 tEs sind dämonische Geister, die Wunder vollbringen und die Herrscher dieser Erde für sich gewinnen wollen. Alle sollen sich mit ihnen zum Kampf gegen den allmächtigen Gott verbünden, wenn der große Tag der Entscheidung kommt.

15 t»Doch vergiss nicht«, sagt Christus, »ich komme plötzlich und unerwartet wie ein Dieb! Nur wer wach bleibt und bereit ist, wird an diesem Tag glücklich sein. Nur wer seine Kleider griffbereit hat, muss dann nicht nackt umherlaufen und sich schämen.«

16 Die dämonischen Geister versammelten die Heere der Welt an dem Ort, der auf Hebräisch »Harmagedon« heißt.

17 Der siebte Engel schüttete seine Schale in die Luft. Da erklang vom Thron des Tempels im Himmel eine gewaltige Stimme: »Es ist geschehen!«18 Blitze zuckten über den Himmel, der Donner krachte, und gewaltige Stimmen dröhnten. Die Erde bebte so heftig wie noch nie seit Menschengedenken.19 tDie große Stadt Babylon zerbrach in drei Teile, und die Städte der Welt sanken in Trümmer. Gott hatte Babylon und ihre Sünden nicht vergessen. Nun musste auch sie den Kelch, der mit Gottes Zorn gefüllt ist, bis zur bitteren Neige leeren.20 Die Inseln versanken, und die Berge stürzten in sich zusammen.

21 tRiesige zentnerschwere Hagelbrocken fielen vom Himmel auf die Menschen. Sie verfluchten Gott wegen dieser furchtbaren Katastrophe.

Revelation 16

1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, Go ye, and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God into the earth.2 And the first went, and poured out his bowl into the earth; and it became a noisome and grievous sore upon the men that had the mark of the beast, and that worshipped his image.3 And the second poured out his bowl into the sea; and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living soul died, even the things that were in the sea.4 And the third poured out his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of the waters; and it became blood.5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, Righteous art thou, who art and who wast, thou Holy One, because thou didst thus judge:6 for they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, and blood hast thou given them to drink: they are worthy.7 And I heard the altar saying, Yea, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.8 And the fourth poured out his bowl upon the sun; and it was given unto it to scorch men with fire.9 And men were scorched men with great heat: and they blasphemed the name of God who hath the power over these plagues; and they repented not to give him glory.10 And the fifth poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom was darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they repented not of their works.12 And the sixth poured out his bowl upon the great river, the river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way might by made ready for the kings that come from the sunrising.13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, as it were frogs:14 for they are spirits of demons, working signs; which go forth unto the kings of the whole world, to gather them together unto the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.15 (Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walked naked, and they see his shame.)16 And they gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew Har-magedon.17 And the seventh poured out his bowl upon the air; and there came forth a great voice out of the temple, from the throne, saying, It is done:18 and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunders; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since there were men upon the earth, so great an earthquake, so mighty.19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.21 And great hail, every stone about the weight of a talent, cometh down out of heaven upon men: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof is exceeding great.
