Siedem pucharów Bożego gniewu
1 I usłyszałem, jak donośny głos ze świątyni zawołał do siedmiu aniołów: „Idźcie i wylejcie na ziemię siedem pucharów Bożego gniewu!”.
2 Wtedy ruszył pierwszy anioł i wylał swój puchar na ziemię. I natychmiast wszystkich ludzi, noszących znak bestii i oddających cześć jej posągowi, dotknęły złośliwe i bolesne wrzody.
3 Drugi anioł wylał swój puchar na morze, a jego woda stała się jak krew umarłego. Wszystkie stworzenia, które w niej żyły, wyginęły.
4 Trzeci anioł wylał swój puchar na rzeki oraz źródła wód, a ich woda zamieniła się w krew.
5 Wtedy usłyszałem, jak anioł, który miał władzę na wodą, obwieścił:
„Święty i sprawiedliwy Boże,
Ty jesteś i zawsze byłeś.
Twój wyrok jest słuszny.
6 Tym, którzy przelali krew,
mordując świętych i proroków,
dałeś teraz do picia właśnie krew
– zasłużyli na to”.
7 I usłyszałem głos dobiegający od ołtarza:
„Wszechmocny Boże, Panie,
Twój wyrok jest sprawiedliwy i słuszny”.
8 Czwarty anioł wylał swój puchar na słońce – i poraziło ono ludzi swoim żarem.
9 Upał był tak wielki, że ludzie zaczęli przeklinać Boga, który ma władzę nad klęskami. Nie opamiętali się jednak i nie oddali Mu czci.
10 Piąty anioł wylał swój puchar na tron bestii. Wtedy jej królestwo pogrążyło się w ciemności, a ludzie z bólu gryźli własne języki.
11 Przeklinali Boga, który jest w niebie, za swój ból i wrzody pokrywające ich ciało, ale nadal nie opamiętali się i nie porzucili zła.
12 Szósty anioł wylał puchar na wielką rzekę Eufrat, a jej wody zupełnie wyschły. Koryto rzeki utworzyło zaś drogę dla władców ze Wschodu.
13 Wtedy zobaczyłem, że z paszczy bestii, z paszczy smoka i z ust fałszywego proroka wyszły trzy złe duchy, podobne do ropuch.
14 Duchy te to demony potrafiące czynić cuda. Nakłoniły one władców całego świata, aby w wielkim dniu Bożego sądu przystąpili do walki z wszechmocnym Bogiem.
15 Chrystus ostrzega: „Zjawię się nieoczekiwanie jak złodziej. Szczęśliwy ten, kto będzie wtedy gotowy i będzie miał przygotowane ubranie, aby nie musiał się wstydzić swojej nagości”.
16 Duchy zgromadziły władców w miejscu zwanym po hebrajsku Armagedon.
17 Wtedy siódmy anioł wylał swój puchar w powietrze, a z tronu świątyni w niebie rozległ się potężny głos: „Wykonało się!”.
18 Wówczas uderzyły gromy i pojawiły się błyskawice, po czym nastąpiło potężne trzęsienie ziemi, jakiego nie było od początku świata.
19 Ogromne miasto Babilon rozpadło się na trzy części, a wszystkie inne miasta świata również legły w gruzach. W ten sposób Bóg okazał wielkiemu Babilonowi swój gniew.
20 Wyspy zniknęły, góry rozpadły się,
21 a z nieba zaczął padać na ludzi ogromny grad, o wadze ponad czterdziestu kilogramów. Ludzie przeklinali Boga z powodu klęski gradu, miała ona bowiem straszne skutki.
REVELATION 16
The Bowls of God's Anger
1 From the temple I heard a voice shout to the seven angels, “Go and empty the seven bowls of God's anger on the earth.”
2 t The first angel emptied his bowl on the earth. At once ugly and painful sores broke out on everyone who had the mark of the beast and worshiped the idol.
3 The second angel emptied his bowl on the sea. At once the sea turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died.
4 t The third angel emptied his bowl into the rivers and streams. At once they turned to blood.
5 Then I heard the angel, who has power over water, say,
“You have always been,
and you always will be
the holy God.
You had the right
to judge in this way.
6 They poured out the bloodt
of your people
and your prophets.
So you gave them blood
to drink as they deserve!”
7 After this, I heard
the altar shout,
“Yes, Lord God All-Powerful,
your judgments are honest
and fair.”
8 The fourth angel emptied his bowl on the sun, and it began to scorch people like fire.
9 Everyone was scorched by its great heat, and all of them cursed the name of God who had power over these terrible troubles. But no one turned to God and praised him.
10 t The fifth angel emptied his bowl on the throne of the beast. At once darkness covered its kingdom, and its people began biting their tongues in pain.
11 And because of their painful sores, they cursed the God who rules in heaven. But still they did not stop doing evil things.
12 t The sixth angel emptied his bowl on the great Euphrates River, and it completely dried up to make a road for the kings from the east. 13 An evil spirit that looked like a frog came out of the mouth of the dragon. One also came out of the mouth of the beast, and another out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 These evil spirits had the power to work miracles. They went to every king on earth, to bring them together for a war against God All-Powerful. But that will be the day of God's great victory.
15 t Remember Christ says, “When I come, it will surprise you like a thief! But God will bless you, if you are awake and ready. Then you won't have to walk around naked and be ashamed.”
16 t Those armies came together in a place that in Hebrew is called Armagedon.t
17 As soon as the seventh angel emptied his bowl in the air, a loud voice from the throne in the temple shouted, “It's done!” 18 t There were flashes of lightning, roars of thunder, and the worst earthquake in all history. 19 t The great city of Babylon split into three parts, and the cities of other nations fell. So God made Babylon drink from the wine cup filled with his anger. 20 t Every island ran away, and the mountains disappeared. 21 t Hailstones, weighing about 50 kilograms each, fell from the sky on people. Finally, the people cursed God, because the hail was so terrible.
