Các chén thịnh nộ của Thượng Đế

1 Sau đó tôi nghe một tiếng lớn từ đền thờ bảo bảy thiên sứ, "Hãy đi ra trút bảy chén thịnh nộ của Thượng Đế xuống đất."2 Thiên sứ thứ nhất đi ra trút chén xuống đất liền có ung nhọt ghê tởm trên những người có dấu con vật và thờ lạy hình tượng nó.3 Thiên sứ thứ hai trút chén trên biển thì biển hóa ra như máu người chết, mọi sinh vật trong biển đều chết hết.4 Thiên sứ thứ ba trút chén trên các sông và suối nước thì tất cả liền hóa ra máu.5 Rồi tôi nghe thiên sứ của nước nói rằng,
"Lạy Đấng Thánh, Ngài là Đấng hiện đang có và trước đã có.
Ngài rất công bình khi phán quyết những điều nầy.6 Họ đã làm đổ máu của dân thánh và các nhà tiên tri Ngài
cho nên nay Ngài cho chúng nó uống máu là phải."7 Rồi tôi nghe tiếng từ bàn thờ nói rằng,
"Phải, lạy Chúa là Thượng Đế Toàn Năng,
Ngài trừng phạt những người gian ác như thế là đúng và công bằng."8 Thiên sứ thứ tư trút chén trên mặt trời thì mặt trời được phép đốt cháy người ta.9 Họ bị sức nóng cháy phỏng nên nguyền rủa Thượng Đế là Đấng có quyền trên các sự khốn khổ ấy. Họ vẫn không chịu ăn năn hối hận để dâng vinh hiển cho Ngài.10 Thiên sứ thứ năm trút chén trên ngôi con vật thì liền có bóng tối bao phủ toàn nước nó. Người ta cắn lưỡi vì đau đớn.11 Họ cũng nguyền rủa Thượng Đế vì đau đớn và ghẻ chốc, nhưng họ vẫn không chịu ăn năn hối hận để quay khỏi điều ác họ làm.12 Thiên sứ thứ sáu trút chén trên sông lớn Ơ-phơ-rát để sông cạn nước đặng chuẩn bị cho các vua từ phương Đông đến.13 Rồi tôi thấy ba ác linh giống như ếch nhái bò ra từ miệng con rồng, miệng con vật và miệng của tiên tri giả.14 Mấy ác linh ấy là tà linh của ma quỉ, có quyền làm phép lạt. Chúng đi ra cùng các vua trên thế gian, tập họp họ lại để chuẩn bị trận chiến trong ngày lớn của Chúa Toàn Năng.15 "Nghe đây! Ta sẽ đến như kẻ trộm! Phúc cho người nào thức tỉnh và mặc áo quần, khỏi trần truồng để mọi người không thấy sự xấu hổ của mình."16 Rồi các tà linh tập họp các vua tại một nơi mà tiếng Hê-bơ-rơ gọi là A-ma-ghê-đôn.17 Thiên sứ thứ bảy trút chén trong không khí liền có tiếng lớn từ ngôi trong đền thờ kêu rằng, "Xong rồi!"18 Liền có chớp, sấm rền trời và động đất dữ dội—cơn động đất lớn chưa từng có kể từ khi con người sống trên đất.19 Thành lớn bị nứt ra làm ba còn các thành phố của các quốc gia đều bị tiêu hủy. Thượng Đế nhớ lại tội lỗi của thành Ba-by-lôn lớn cho nên Ngài bắt nó uống chén đầy rượu thịnh nộ kinh hoàng của Ngài.20 Các hải đảo đều trốn đi, núi cũng biến mất.21 Có những tảng mưa đá khổng lồ, mỗi tảng nặng khoảng 36 kí lôt từ trời rơi xuống trên người ta. Dân chúng nguyền rủa Thượng Đế do nạn mưa đá vì cơn khốn khổ đó quá khủng khiếp.

Revelation 16

Six Bowls of Wrath

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God."

2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living tthing in the sea died.

4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood.5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, "Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things;6 for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it."7 And I heard the altar saying, "Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments."

8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire.9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.

10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain,11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.

12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.

Armageddon

13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs;14 for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.15 ("Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.")16 And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called tHar-Magedon.

Seventh Bowl of Wrath

17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, "It is done."18 And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty.19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath.20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.21 And huge hailstones, about tone hundred pounds each, *came down from heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely severe.
