Apocalisse 19

1 Dopo queste cose udii come una gran voce d’una immensa moltitudine nel cielo, che diceva: Alleluia! La salvazione e la gloria e la potenza appartengono al nostro Dio;2 perché veraci e giusti sono i suoi giudici; poiché Egli ha giudicata la gran meretrice che corrompeva la terra con la sua fornicazione e ha vendicato il sangue de’ suoi servitori, ridomandandolo dalla mano di lei.3 E dissero una seconda volta: Alleluia! Il suo fumo sale per i secoli dei secoli.4 E i ventiquattro anziani e le quattro creature viventi si gettarono giù e adorarono Iddio che siede sul trono, dicendo: Amen! Alleluia!5 E una voce partì dal trono dicendo: Lodate il nostro Dio, voi tutti suoi servitori, voi che lo temete piccoli e grandi.6 Poi udii come la voce di una gran moltitudine e come il suono di molte acque e come il rumore di forti tuoni, che diceva: Alleluia! poiché il Signore Iddio nostro, l’Onnipotente, ha preso a regnare.7 Rallegriamoci e giubiliamo e diamo a lui la gloria, poiché son giunte le nozze dell’Agnello, e la sua sposa s’è preparata;8 e le è stato dato di vestirsi di lino fino, risplendente e puro; poiché il lino fino son le opere giuste dei santi.9 E l’angelo mi disse: Scrivi: Beati quelli che sono invitati alla cena delle nozze dell’Agnello. E mi disse: Queste sono le veraci parole di Dio.10 E io mi prostrai ai suoi piedi per adorarlo. Ed egli mi disse: Guardati dal farlo; io sono tuo conservo e de’ tuoi fratelli che serbano la testimonianza di Gesù: adora Iddio! Perché la testimonianza di Gesù; è lo spirito della profezia.11 Poi vidi il cielo aperto ed ecco un cavallo bianco; e colui che lo cavalcava si chiama il Fedele e il Verace; ed egli giudica e guerreggia con giustizia.12 E i suoi occhi erano una fiamma di fuoco, e sul suo capo v’eran molti diademi; e portava scritto un nome che nessuno conosce fuorché lui.13 Era vestito d’una veste tinta di sangue, e il suo nome è: la Parola di Dio.14 Gli eserciti che sono nel cielo lo seguivano sopra cavalli bianchi, ed eran vestiti di lino fino bianco e puro.15 E dalla bocca gli usciva una spada affilata per percuoter con essa le nazioni; ed egli le reggerà con una verga di ferro, e calcherà il tino del vino dell’ardente ira dell’Onnipotente Iddio.16 E sulla veste e sulla coscia porta scritto questo nome: RE DEI RE, SIGNOR DEI SIGNORI.

17 Poi vidi un angelo che stava in piè nel sole, ed egli gridò con gran voce, dicendo a tutti gli uccelli che volano in mezzo al cielo:18 Venite, adunatevi per il gran convito di Dio, per mangiar carni di re e carni di capitani e carni di prodi e carni di cavalli e di cavalieri, e carni d’ogni sorta d’uomini liberi e schiavi, piccoli e grandi.19 E vidi la bestia e i re della terra e i loro eserciti radunati per muover guerra a colui che cavalcava il cavallo e all’esercito suo.20 E la bestia fu presa, e con lei fu preso il falso profeta che avea fatto i miracoli davanti a lei, coi quali aveva sedotto quelli che aveano preso il marchio della bestia e quelli che adoravano la sua immagine. Ambedue furon gettati vivi nello stagno ardente di fuoco e di zolfo.21 E il rimanente fu ucciso con la spada che usciva dalla bocca di colui che cavalcava il cavallo; e tutti gli uccelli si satollarono delle loro carni.

Revelation 19

1 After these things I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying,
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

2 because his judgments are true and just.t
For he has judgedt the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality,
and has avenged the blood of his servantst poured out by her own hands!”t
3 Thent a second time the crowd shouted, “Hallelujah!” The smoke rises from her forever and ever.t

4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the groundt and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: “Amen! Hallelujah!”

5 Thent a voice came from the throne, saying:
“Praise our God
all you his servants,
and all you who fear Him,
both the small and the great!”

The Wedding Celebration of the Lamb

6 Thent I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting:t
“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God,s the All-Powerful,t reigns!

7 Let us rejoicet and exult
and give him glory,
because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.

8 She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen”t (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints).s
9 Thent the angelt said to me, “Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!” He also said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

10 Sot I threw myself downt at his feet to worship him, butt he said, “Do not do this!t I am onlyt a fellow servantt with you and your brotherst who hold to the testimony aboutt Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The Son of God Goes to War

11 Thent I saw heaven opened and here camet a white horse! Thet one riding it was called “Faithful” and “True,” and with justicet he judges and goes to war.12 His eyes are like a fieryt flame and there are many diadem crownsts on his head. He hast a name writtent that no one knows except himself.13 He is dressed in clothing dippedst in blood, and he is calledt the Word of God.14 Thet armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen,t were following him on white horses.15 From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations.tHetwill ruletthem with an iron rod,ts and he stomps the winepresss of the furioust wrath of God, the All-Powerful.t

16 He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

17 Thent I saw one angel standing int the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky:t
“Come, gather around for the great banquett of God,

18 to eatt your fillt of the flesh of kings,
the flesh of generals,t
the flesh of powerful people,
the flesh of horses and those who ride them,
and the flesh of all people, both free and slave,t
and small and great!”
19 Thent I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to do battle with the one who rode the horse and with his army.20 Nowt the beast was seized, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalft – signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur.t

21 Thet others were killed by the sword that extended from the mouth of the one who rode the horse, and all the birds gorgedt themselves with their flesh.
