Åpenbaringen 19

1 Deretter hørte jeg likesom en mektig lyd av en stor skare i himmelen, som sa: Halleluja! Frelsen og æren og makten tilhører vår Gud! s2 For sanne og rettferdige er hans dommer. For han har dømt den store horen, hun som ødela jorden med sitt horeliv, og han har krevd sine tjeneres blod av hennes hånd. s3 Og de sa annen gang: Halleluja! Røken av henne stiger opp i all evighet. s4 De tjuefire eldste og de fire livsvesener falt ned og tilba Gud, han som sitter på tronen, og sa: Amen! Halleluja! s5 Og fra tronen gikk det ut en røst som sa: Pris vår Gud, alle hans tjenere, dere som frykter ham, både små og store! s6 Og jeg hørte likesom en lyd av en stor skare, og som en lyd av mange vann, og som en lyd av sterke tordendrønn, som sa: Halleluja! For Gud Herren, Den Allmektige regjerer som konge! s7 La oss glede oss og fryde oss og gi ham æren! For Lammets bryllup er kommet, og hans brud har gjort seg rede. s8 Det er henne gitt å kle seg i rent og skinnende fint lin. For det fine linet er de helliges rettferdige gjerninger. s9 Og han sier til meg: Skriv: Salige er de som er innbudt til Lammets bryllupsmåltid! Han sier til meg: Dette er Guds sanne ord. s10 Da falt jeg ned for hans føtter for å tilbe ham, men han sier til meg: Vokt deg for det! Jeg er din og dine brødres medtjener, de som har Jesu vitnesbyrd. Gud skal du tilbe! For Jesu vitnesbyrd er profetordets ånd. s

Kristus på den hvite hesten

11 Og jeg så himmelen åpnet - og se: En hvit hest. Og han som sitter på den, heter Trofast og Sannferdig, og han dømmer og strider med rettferdighet. s12 Hans øyne er som ildslue. På hans hode er det mange kroner. Han har en innskrift med et navn som ingen kjenner uten han selv. s13 Han er iført en kledning som er dyppet i blod, og hans navn er Guds Ord. s14 Hærene i himmelen fulgte ham på hvite hester, kledd i fint lin, hvitt og rent. s15 Ut av hans munn går det et skarpt sverd, for at han med det skal slå hedningefolkene. Og han skal styre dem med jernstav. Han tråkker vinpressen med Guds, Den Allmektiges strenge vredes vin. ss16 På sin kledning og på sin hofte har han et navn skrevet: Kongers konge og herrers herre. s

Kristus seirer over dyret og kongene på jorden

17 Og jeg så en engel som sto i solen. Han ropte med høy røst til alle fuglene som flyr under himmelen: Kom hit og samle dere til Guds store måltid! s18 Dere skal få ete kjøtt av konger og kjøtt av hærførere og kjøtt av helter, og kjøtt av hester og dem som sitter på dem, og kjøtt av alle - både frie menn og treller, både små og store.19 Jeg så dyret og jordens konger med sine hærer samlet til krig mot ham som satt på hesten, og mot hans hær. s20 Og dyret ble grepet, og sammen med det den falske profeten, han som hadde gjort tegn for dyrets øyne, og med disse tegnene hadde forført dem som tok dyrets merke og tilba dets bilde. Disse to ble kastet levende i ildsjøen som brenner med svovel.s21 De andre ble drept med sverdet som gikk ut fra hans munn som satt på hesten. Og alle fuglene ble mettet av deres kjøtt. s

Revelation 19

1 After these things I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying,
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

2 because his judgments are true and just.t
For he has judgedt the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality,
and has avenged the blood of his servantst poured out by her own hands!”t
3 Thent a second time the crowd shouted, “Hallelujah!” The smoke rises from her forever and ever.t

4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the groundt and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: “Amen! Hallelujah!”

5 Thent a voice came from the throne, saying:
“Praise our God
all you his servants,
and all you who fear Him,
both the small and the great!”

The Wedding Celebration of the Lamb

6 Thent I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting:t
“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God,s the All-Powerful,t reigns!

7 Let us rejoicet and exult
and give him glory,
because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.

8 She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen”t (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints).s
9 Thent the angelt said to me, “Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!” He also said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

10 Sot I threw myself downt at his feet to worship him, butt he said, “Do not do this!t I am onlyt a fellow servantt with you and your brotherst who hold to the testimony aboutt Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The Son of God Goes to War

11 Thent I saw heaven opened and here camet a white horse! Thet one riding it was called “Faithful” and “True,” and with justicet he judges and goes to war.12 His eyes are like a fieryt flame and there are many diadem crownsts on his head. He hast a name writtent that no one knows except himself.13 He is dressed in clothing dippedst in blood, and he is calledt the Word of God.14 Thet armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen,t were following him on white horses.15 From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations.tHetwill ruletthem with an iron rod,ts and he stomps the winepresss of the furioust wrath of God, the All-Powerful.t

16 He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

17 Thent I saw one angel standing int the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky:t
“Come, gather around for the great banquett of God,

18 to eatt your fillt of the flesh of kings,
the flesh of generals,t
the flesh of powerful people,
the flesh of horses and those who ride them,
and the flesh of all people, both free and slave,t
and small and great!”
19 Thent I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to do battle with the one who rode the horse and with his army.20 Nowt the beast was seized, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalft – signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur.t

21 Thet others were killed by the sword that extended from the mouth of the one who rode the horse, and all the birds gorgedt themselves with their flesh.
