Offenbarung 2
1 Dem Engel der Gemeinde in Ephesus schreibe: So spricht, der die sieben Sterne in seiner Rechten hält, die inmitten der sieben goldenen Leuchter wandelt:2 'Ich kenne deine Werke, deine unverdrossene Arbeit und deine Ausdauer. Ich weiß, du kannst böse Menschen nicht ertragen und hast die Leute, die sich fälschlich für Apostel ausgeben, geprüft und sie als Lügner entlarvt.3 Du zeigst auch Ausdauer und hast um meines Namens willen standhaft gelitten und bist nicht müde geworden.4 Aber ich habe wider dich, daß du nicht mehr in deiner ersten Liebe stehst.5 Nimm darum zu Herzen, von welcher Höhe du gefallen bist! Ändere deinen Sinn und tu die ersten Werke!t Sonst komme ich über dich und stoße deinen Leuchter von seiner Stätte,t wenn du dich nicht bekehrst.6 Dies gereicht dir noch zum Lobe: du haßt die Werke der Nikolaiten,t die ich auch hasse.7 Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt! Dem Siegert will ich zu essen geben von der Frucht des Lebensbaumes,t der in dem Paradies Gottes ist.'8 Dem Engel der Gemeinde in Smyrnat schreibe: So spricht der Erste und der Letzte, der tot war und wieder lebt:9 'Ich kenne deine Trübsalt und deine Armutt — doch du bist reich! — und ich weiß, wie du von denen gelästert wirst, die sich selbst (mit Stolz) Juden nennen; aber in Wirklichkeit sind sie's nicht, sondern sie sind eine Satansgemeinde.t10 Fürchte dich nicht vor dem, was du noch leiden sollst! Seht, der Teufelt wird einige von euch ins Gefängnis bringen, damit ihr geprüft werdet;t und ihr werdet eine Trübsal von zehn Tagen zu leiden haben. Bleib mir treu bis in den Tod, dann will ich dir das (ewige) Leben als Siegeskronet geben!11 Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt! Dem Sieger soll kein Leid geschehen von dem zweiten Tod.'t12 Dem Engel der Gemeinde in Pergamus schreibe: / So spricht, der das scharfe, zweischneidige Schwert trägt:13 'Ich weiß, wo du wohnst: da, wo des Satans Thron ist.t Doch du hältst fest an meinem Namen und hast den Glauben, den ich in dir gewirkt, nicht verleugnet in jenen Tagen, als Antipas, mein treuer Zeuge, bei euch, wo der Satan wohnt, getötet wurde.t14 Doch ich habe etwas wider dich: Du hast dort Leute, die der Lehre Bileams anhangen, der den Balak unterwies, den Israeliten einen Fallstrick zu legen, so daß sie von den Götzenopfern aßen und Unzucht trieben.t15 Sot hast auch du in deiner Mitte Leute, die der Lehre der Nikolaiten folgen.16 Darum ändere deinen Sinn! Sonst komme ich bald über dich und werde siet bekämpfen mit dem Schwert meines Mundes.17 Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt! / Dem Sieger will ich geben von dem verborgenen Manna,t und ich will ihm geben einen weißen Stein; auf dem Stein soll ein neuer Namet stehen, den niemand kennt als der Empfänger.'18 Dem Engel der Gemeinde in Thyatira schreibe: / So spricht der Sohn Gottes, der Augen hat wie eine Feuerflamme, und dessen Füße dem Silbererz gleichen:19 'Ich kenne deine Werke — deine Liebe, deinen Glauben, deine Dienstleistungen und deine Beharrlichkeit —, und ich weiß, du hast in letzter Zeit noch mehr gewirkt als früher.20 Aber ich habe dies wider dich: Du läßt Isebel, dein Weib, gewähren:t die gibt sich für eine Prophetin aus und verführt meine Knechte durch ihre Lehre, Hurerei zu treiben und Götzenopferfleisch zu essen.21 Ich habe ihr Frist gegeben zur Bekehrung; doch sie will sich nicht bekehren von ihrer Unzucht.22 Sieh, ich werfe sie aufs Krankenbett, und die mit ihr die Ehe brechen, bringe ich in große Trübsal, wenn sie sich nicht von ihren Werken bekehren.t23 Und ihre Kindert will ich des Todes sterben lassen. Denn alle Gemeinden sollen erkennen, daß ich es bin, der Nieren und Herzen erforscht;t und ich will einem jeden von euch vergelten nach seinen Werken.t24 Euch anderen aber in Thyatira sage ich, allen, die dieser Lehret nicht folgen und die Tiefen Satans nicht 'erkannt't haben — wie siet sich rühmen —: Ich lege euch weiter keine Last auf.t25 Doch haltet fest an dem, was ihr schon habt,t bis ich komme!26 Wer siegt und meine Werke bis ans Ende hält, dem will ich Macht geben über die Völker,27 und er soll sie mit eisernem Stab weiden,t wie man Töpfergeschirr in Stücke bricht.t28 Diese Macht habe auch ich empfangen von meinem Vater. Und ich will ihm geben den Morgenstern.t29 Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt!'
Revelation 2
1 To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, he that walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks:2 I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil men, and didst try them that call themselves apostles, and they are not, and didst find them false;3 and thou hast patience and didst bear for my name’s sake, and hast not grown weary.4 But I have this against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love.5 Remember therefore whence thou art fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I come to thee, and will move thy candlestick out of its place, except thou repent.6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.8 And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and lived again:9 I know thy tribulation, and thy poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and they art not, but are a synagogue of Satan.10 Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.12 and to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These things saith he that hath the sharp two-edged sword:13 I know where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s throne is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny my faith, even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwelleth.14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there some that hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.15 So hast thou also some that hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans in like manner.16 Repent therefore; or else I come to thee quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth.17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knoweth but he that receiveth it.18 And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like unto burnished brass:19 I know thy works, and thy love and faith and ministry and patience, and that thy last works are more than the first.20 But I have this against thee, that thou sufferest the woman Jezebel, who calleth herself a prophetess; and she teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.21 And I gave her time that she should repent; and she willeth not to repent of her fornication.22 Behold, I cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of her works.23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.24 But to you I say, to the rest that are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, who know not the deep things of Satan, as they are wont to say; I cast upon you none other burden.25 Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come.26 And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations:27 and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to shivers; as I also have received of my Father:28 and I will give him the morning star.29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
