پیام مسیح به کلیسای اِفِسُس
1 «به فرشتۀ کلیسای اِفِسُس بنویس:
«آن که هفت ستاره در دست راست دارد و در میان هفت چراغدان طلا گام میزند، چنین میگوید:2 اعمال تو را میدانم و از سختکوشی و پایداری تو آگاهم. میدانم که شریران را تحمّل نمیتوانی کرد و کسانی را که بهدروغ ادعای رسالت میکنند، آزمودهای و آنان را دروغگو یافتهای.3 میدانم که استقامت نشان دادهای و به پاس نام من سختیها تحمّل کردهای و خسته نشدهای.4 «امّا این ایراد را بر تو دارم که محبتِ نخستینِ خود را فروگذاشتهای.5 بهیاد آر که از چه اوجی سقوط کردهای. پس توبه کن و اعمالی را بهجا آور که در آغاز بهجا میآوردی. چه اگر توبه نکنی، خود خواهم آمد و چراغدانت را از آنجا که هست برمیگیرم.6 ولی این امتیاز را داری که از کارهای نیکولاییان بیزاری، آنگونه که من نیز بیزارم.7 «آن که گوش دارد بشنود که روح به کلیساها چه میگوید. هر که غالب آید، به او نعمت خوردن از درخت حیات را خواهم بخشید که در فردوس خداست.
پیام مسیح به کلیسای اِزمیر
8 «به فرشتۀ کلیسای اِزمیر بنویس:
«آن اوّل و آن آخر که مُرد و باز زنده شد، چنین میگوید:9 از سختیها و فقر تو آگاهم، با این همه ثروتمندی! از تهمتهای ناروای آنان که لاف یهودیت میزنند و نیستند، بلکه کنیسۀ شیطانند، باخبرم.10 از رنجی که خواهی کشید، مترس. باخبر باش که ابلیس برخی از شما را به زندان خواهد افکند تا آزموده شوید و ده روز آزار خواهید دید. لیکن تا پای جان وفادار بمان که من تاج حیات را به تو خواهم بخشید.11 «آن که گوش دارد بشنود که روح به کلیساها چه میگوید. هر که غالب آید، از مرگ دوّم گزند نخواهد دید.
پیام مسیح به کلیسای پِرگاموم
12 «به فرشتۀ کلیسای پِرگاموم بنویس:
«او که شمشیر بُرّانِ دو دم دارد، چنین میگوید:13 میدانم کجا زندگی میکنی، آنجا که پایتخت شیطان است. با این همه به نام من وفادار ماندهای و حتی در ایام آنتیپاس، آن گواهِ امینِ من که او را در شهر شما که زیستگاه شیطان است کشتند، ایمانی را که به من داشتی انکار نکردی.14 «با وجود این، یکی دو ایراد بر تو دارم. در آنجا کسانی را داری که از تعلیم بَلعام پیروی میکنند؛ همان که بالاق را آموخت که اسرائیلیان را برانگیزاند تا از خوراک تقدیمی به بتها بخورند و دست به بیعفتی بیالایند.15 از این گذشته، کسانی را هم داری که از تعلیم نیکولاییان پیروی میکنند.16 پس توبه کن، وگرنه بزودی نزد تو خواهم آمد و با شمشیر دهانم با آنها خواهم جنگید.17 «آن که گوش دارد بشنود که روح به کلیساها چه میگوید. هر که غالب آید، به او از آن ”مَنّای“ مخفی خواهم داد. هم به او سنگی سفید خواهم بخشید که بر آن نام تازهای حک شده است، نامی که جز بر آن که دریافتش میکند، شناخته نیست.
پیام مسیح به کلیسای تیاتیرا
18 «به فرشتۀ کلیسای تیاتیرا بنویس:
«پسر خدا که چشمانی چون آتشِ مشتعل دارد و پاهایی چون برنجِ تافته، چنین میگوید:19 من از اعمال تو، از محبت و وفاداریt و خدمت و پایداری تو آگاهم، و آگاهم که اعمال تو اکنون بیش از گذشته است.20 امّا این ایراد را بر تو دارم که بر آن زن ایزابل نام که خود را نبیه میخواند، آسان میگیری. هم او که با تعلیم خود بندگان مرا میفریبد تا دست به بیعفتی بیالایند و از خوراک تقدیمی به بتها بخورند.21 به او مهلت دادهام تا از هرزگی توبه کند، امّا به توبه تمایل ندارد.22 پس او را به بستر رنجوری خواهم انداخت و آنان را که با او مرتکب زنا میشوند به رنجی عظیم گرفتار خواهم کرد، مگر اینکه از رفتن به راههای او توبه کنند.23 و فرزندان او را به هلاکت خواهم رساند. آنگاه همۀ کلیساها خواهند دانست که من کاوشگر دلها و افکارم و به هر یک از شما بر حسب اعمالش پاداش خواهم داد.24 امّا به بقیۀ شما در تیاتیرا، به شما که پیرو این تعلیم نیستید و بهاصطلاح ”اسرار نهانی شیطان“ را نیاموختهاید، این را میگویم که بر شما باری بیش از آنکه بر دوش دارید، نمیگذارم.25 تنها به پاسداری از آنچه دارید بکوشید تا من بیایم.26 «هرکه غالب آید و خواست مرا تا به آخر انجام دهد، او را بر قومها اقتدار خواهم بخشید،
27 «”با عصای آهنین بر آنان حکم خواهد راند؛
و آنان را چون کوزۀ سفالین خُرد خواهد کرد،“
همانگونه که من این اقتدار را از پدرم یافتهام.28 آری، به او ستارۀ صبحt را خواهم بخشید.29 آن که گوش دارد بشنود که روح به کلیساها چه میگوید.
REVELATION 2
The Letter to Ephesus
1 This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Ephesus:
I am the one who holds the seven stars in my right hand, and I walk among the seven gold lampstands. Listen to what I say.
2 I know everything you have done, including your hard work and how you have endured. I know you won't put up with anyone who is evil. When some people pretended to be apostles, you tested them and found out they were liars.
3 You have endured and gone through hard times because of me, yet you have not given up.
4 But I do have something against you! And it is this: You don't have as much love as you used to. 5 Think about where you have fallen from, and then turn back and do as you did at first. If you don't turn back, I will come and take away your lampstand.
6 But there is one thing you are doing right. You hate what the Nicolaitanst are doing, and so do I.
7 t If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will let everyone who wins the victory eat from the life-giving tree in God's wonderful garden.The Letter to Smyrna
8 t This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Smyrna:
I am the first and the last. I died, but now I am alive! Listen to what I say.
9 I know how much you suffer and how poor you are, but you are rich. I also know the cruel things being said about you by people who claim to be God's people. But they are not really God's people. They are a group that belongs to Satan.
10 Don't worry about what you will suffer. The devil will throw some of you into jail, and you will be tested and made to suffer for ten days. But if you are faithful until you die, I will reward you with a glorious life.t
11 t If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. Whoever wins the victory will not be hurt by the second death.tThe Letter to Pergamum
12 This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Pergamum:
I am the one who has the sharp double-edged sword! Listen to what I say.
13 I know you live where Satan has his throne.t But you have kept true to my name. Right there where Satan lives, my faithful witness Antipast was taken from you and put to death. Even then you did not give up your faith in me.
14 t I do have a few things against you. Some of you are following the teaching of Balaam.t Long ago he told Balak to teach the people of Israel to eat food that had been offered to idols and to be immoral. 15 Now some of you are following the teaching of the Nicolaitans.t
16 Turn back! If you don't, I will come quickly and fight against these people. And my words will cut like a sword.
17 t If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To everyone who wins the victory, I will give some of the hidden food.t I will also give each one a white stonet with a new namet written on it. No one will know that name except the one who is given the stone.The Letter to Thyatira
18 This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Thyatira:
I am the Son of God! My eyes are like flames of fire, and my feet are like bronze. Listen to what I say.
19 I know everything about you, including your love, your faith, your service, and how you have endured. I know you are doing more now than you have ever done before. 20 t But I still have something against you because of that woman Jezebel.t She calls herself a prophet, and you let her teach and mislead my servants to do immoral things and to eat food offered to idols.
21 I gave her a chance to turn from her sins, but she did not want to stop doing these immoral things.
22 I am going to strike down Jezebel. Everyone who does these immoral things with her will also be punished, if they don't stop.
23 t I will even kill her followers.t Then all the churches will see that I know everyone's thoughts and feelings. I will treat each of you as you deserve.
24 Some of you in Thyatira don't follow Jezebel's teaching. You don't know anything about what her followers call the “deep secrets of Satan.” So I won't burden you down with any other commands.
25 But until I come, you must hold firmly to the teaching you have.
26 t I will give power over the nations to everyone who wins the victory and keeps on obeying me until the end.
27-28 I will give each of them the same power my Father has given me. They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash those nations to pieces like clay pots. I will also give them the morning star.t
29 If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
