Apocalipsis 2
Mensaje a la iglesia de Éfeso
1 »Escribe esta carta al ángelt de la iglesia de Éfeso. Este es el mensaje de aquél que tiene las siete estrellas en la mano derecha, del que camina en medio de los siete candelabros de oro:
2 »Yo sé todo lo que haces. He visto tu arduo trabajo y tu paciencia con perseverancia. Sé que no toleras a la gente malvada. Has puesto a prueba las pretensiones de esos que dicen ser apóstoles pero no lo son. Has descubierto que son mentirosos. 3 Has sufrido por mi nombre con paciencia sin darte por vencido.
4 »Pero tengo una queja en tu contra. ¡No me amas a mí ni se aman entre ustedes como al principio!t 5 ¡Mira hasta dónde has caído! Vuélvete a mí y haz las obras que hacías al principio. Si no te arrepientes, vendré y quitaré tu candelabro de su lugar entre las iglesias; 6 pero tienes esto a tu favor: odias las obras malvadas de los nicolaítas, al igual que yo.
7 »Todo el que tenga oídos para oír debe escuchar al Espíritu y entender lo que él dice a las iglesias. A todos los que salgan vencedores, les daré del fruto del árbol de la vida, que está en el paraíso de Dios.
Mensaje a la iglesia de Esmirna
8 »Escribe esta carta al ángel de la iglesia de Esmirna. Este es el mensaje de aquél que es el Primero y el Último, que estuvo muerto pero ahora vive:
9 »Yo sé de tu sufrimiento y tu pobreza, ¡pero tú eres rico! Conozco la blasfemia de los que se te oponen. Dicen ser judíos pero no lo son, porque su sinagoga le pertenece a Satanás. 10 No tengas miedo de lo que estás a punto de sufrir. El diablo meterá a algunos de ustedes en la cárcel para ponerlos a prueba, y sufrirán por diez días; pero si permaneces fiel, incluso cuando te enfrentes a la muerte, te daré la corona de la vida.
11 »Todo el que tenga oídos para oír debe escuchar al Espíritu y entender lo que él dice a las iglesias. Los que salgan vencedores no sufrirán daño de la segunda muerte.
Mensaje a la iglesia de Pérgamo
12 »Escribe esta carta al ángel de la iglesia de Pérgamo. Este es el mensaje de aquél que tiene la espada aguda de doble filo:
13 »Yo sé que vives en la ciudad donde Satanás tiene su trono; sin embargo, has permanecido leal a mi nombre. Te rehusaste a negarme aun cuando mi fiel testigo, Antipas, murió como mártir en medio de ustedes allí en la ciudad de Satanás.
14 »Pero tengo unas cuantas quejas en tu contra. Toleras a algunos de entre ustedes que mantienen la enseñanza de Balaam, quien le enseñó a Balac cómo hacer tropezar al pueblo de Israel. Les enseñó a pecar, incitándolos a comer alimentos ofrecidos a ídolos y a cometer pecado sexual. 15 De modo parecido, entre ustedes hay algunos nicolaítas que siguen esa misma enseñanza. 16 Arrepiéntete de tu pecado, o de lo contrario, vendré a ti de repente y pelearé contra ellos con la espada de mi boca.
17 »Todo el que tenga oídos para oír debe escuchar al Espíritu y entender lo que él dice a las iglesias. A todos los que salgan vencedores, les daré del maná que ha sido escondido en el cielo. Y le daré a cada uno una piedra blanca, y en la piedra estará grabado un nombre nuevo que nadie comprende aparte de aquél que lo recibe.
Mensaje a la iglesia de Tiatira
18 »Escribe esta carta al ángel de la iglesia de Tiatira. Este es el mensaje del Hijo de Dios, el que tiene los ojos como llamas de fuego y los pies como bronce pulido:
19 »Yo sé todo lo que haces; he visto tu amor, tu fe, tu servicio y tu paciencia con perseverancia. Y veo tu constante mejoría en todas estas cosas.
20 »Pero tengo una queja en tu contra. Permites que esa mujer —esa Jezabel que se llama a sí misma profetisa— lleve a mis siervos por mal camino. Ella les enseña a cometer pecado sexual y a comer alimentos ofrecidos a ídolos. 21 Le di tiempo para que se arrepintiera, pero ella no quiere abandonar su inmoralidad.
22 »Por lo tanto, la arrojaré en una cama de sufrimiento,t y los que cometen adulterio con ella sufrirán terriblemente, a menos que se arrepientan y abandonen las maldades de ella. 23 Heriré de muerte a sus hijos. Entonces todas las iglesias sabrán que yo soy el que examina los pensamientos y las intenciones de cada persona. Y le daré a cada uno de ustedes lo que se merezca.
24 »Pero también tengo un mensaje para el resto de ustedes en Tiatira, los que no han seguido esa falsa enseñanza (“verdades más profundas”, como ellos las llaman, que en realidad son profundidades de Satanás). No les pediré nada más, 25 sólo que retengan con firmeza lo que tienen hasta que yo venga.
26 A todos los que salgan vencedores y me obedezcan hasta el final:
Les daré autoridad sobre todas las naciones.
27 Gobernarán las naciones con vara de hierro
y las harán pedazos como si fueran ollas de barro.t
28 Tendrán la misma autoridad que yo recibí de mi Padre, ¡y también les daré la estrella de la mañana!
29 »Todo el que tenga oídos para oír debe escuchar al Espíritu y entender lo que él dice a las iglesias.
REVELATION 2
The Letter to Ephesus
1 This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Ephesus:
I am the one who holds the seven stars in my right hand, and I walk among the seven gold lampstands. Listen to what I say.
2 I know everything you have done, including your hard work and how you have endured. I know you won't put up with anyone who is evil. When some people pretended to be apostles, you tested them and found out they were liars.
3 You have endured and gone through hard times because of me, yet you have not given up.
4 But I do have something against you! And it is this: You don't have as much love as you used to. 5 Think about where you have fallen from, and then turn back and do as you did at first. If you don't turn back, I will come and take away your lampstand.
6 But there is one thing you are doing right. You hate what the Nicolaitanst are doing, and so do I.
7 t If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will let everyone who wins the victory eat from the life-giving tree in God's wonderful garden.The Letter to Smyrna
8 t This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Smyrna:
I am the first and the last. I died, but now I am alive! Listen to what I say.
9 I know how much you suffer and how poor you are, but you are rich. I also know the cruel things being said about you by people who claim to be God's people. But they are not really God's people. They are a group that belongs to Satan.
10 Don't worry about what you will suffer. The devil will throw some of you into jail, and you will be tested and made to suffer for ten days. But if you are faithful until you die, I will reward you with a glorious life.t
11 t If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. Whoever wins the victory will not be hurt by the second death.tThe Letter to Pergamum
12 This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Pergamum:
I am the one who has the sharp double-edged sword! Listen to what I say.
13 I know you live where Satan has his throne.t But you have kept true to my name. Right there where Satan lives, my faithful witness Antipast was taken from you and put to death. Even then you did not give up your faith in me.
14 t I do have a few things against you. Some of you are following the teaching of Balaam.t Long ago he told Balak to teach the people of Israel to eat food that had been offered to idols and to be immoral. 15 Now some of you are following the teaching of the Nicolaitans.t
16 Turn back! If you don't, I will come quickly and fight against these people. And my words will cut like a sword.
17 t If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To everyone who wins the victory, I will give some of the hidden food.t I will also give each one a white stonet with a new namet written on it. No one will know that name except the one who is given the stone.The Letter to Thyatira
18 This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Thyatira:
I am the Son of God! My eyes are like flames of fire, and my feet are like bronze. Listen to what I say.
19 I know everything about you, including your love, your faith, your service, and how you have endured. I know you are doing more now than you have ever done before. 20 t But I still have something against you because of that woman Jezebel.t She calls herself a prophet, and you let her teach and mislead my servants to do immoral things and to eat food offered to idols.
21 I gave her a chance to turn from her sins, but she did not want to stop doing these immoral things.
22 I am going to strike down Jezebel. Everyone who does these immoral things with her will also be punished, if they don't stop.
23 t I will even kill her followers.t Then all the churches will see that I know everyone's thoughts and feelings. I will treat each of you as you deserve.
24 Some of you in Thyatira don't follow Jezebel's teaching. You don't know anything about what her followers call the “deep secrets of Satan.” So I won't burden you down with any other commands.
25 But until I come, you must hold firmly to the teaching you have.
26 t I will give power over the nations to everyone who wins the victory and keeps on obeying me until the end.
27-28 I will give each of them the same power my Father has given me. They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash those nations to pieces like clay pots. I will also give them the morning star.t
29 If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
