Die tausendjährige Herrschaft

1 tDanach sah ich einen Engel vom Himmel herabkommen. In seiner Hand hielt er den Schlüssel zum Abgrund und eine schwere Kette.2 tEr ergriff den Drachen, die alte Schlange - sie ist nichts anderes als der Teufel oder Satan -, und legte ihn für tausend Jahre in Fesseln.3 Der Engel warf ihn in den Abgrund, verschloss den Eingang und versiegelte ihn. Nun konnte der Satan die Völker nicht mehr verführen, bis die tausend Jahre vorüber waren. Nach dieser Zeit muss er noch einmal für kurze Zeit freigelassen werden.

4 tUnd ich sah mehrere Thronsessel. Auf ihnen nahmen alle Platz, die den Auftrag hatten, über andere Gericht zu halten. Ich sah die Seelen der Menschen, die man enthauptet hatte, weil sie sich treu zu Jesus und zu Gottes Botschaft bekannt hatten. Sie hatten das Tier und seine Statue nicht angebetet, hatten sein Zeichen nicht auf ihrer Stirn oder Hand getragen. Jetzt lebten sie mit Christus und herrschten mit ihm tausend Jahre lang.5 Dies ist die erste Auferstehung. Die anderen Toten wurden erst wieder lebendig, nachdem die tausend Jahre vorüber waren.6 tGlücklich und von Gott angenommen sind alle, die an der ersten Auferstehung teilhaben. Über sie hat der zweite Todt keine Macht. Als Priester Gottes und Christi werden sie tausend Jahre mit ihm herrschen.

Der Sieg über den Satan

7 Wenn die tausend Jahre vorüber sind, wird der Satan für kurze Zeit aus seinem Gefängnis freigelassen.8 Dann wird er alle Völker der Welt, Gog und Magog,t zum Kampf anstiften und aufmarschieren lassen. So zahlreich wie der Sand am Meer werden sie sein.9 Sie zogen herauf, überrannten die ganze Erde und umzingelten das Lager des Gottesvolkes und die geliebte Stadt Gottes. Doch da fiel Feuer vom Himmel und vernichtete die Heere des Satans.10 tEr selbst, der sie verführt hatte, wurde nun auch in den See mit brennendem Schwefel geworfen zu dem Tier und dem Lügenpropheten. Immer und ewig müssen sie dort Tag und Nacht schreckliche Qualen erleiden.

Das letzte Gericht

11 tIch sah einen großen, weißen Thron und den, der darauf saß. Erde und Himmel konnten seinen Blick nicht ertragen, sie verschwanden im Nichts.12 tUnd ich sah alle Toten vor dem Thron Gottes stehen: die Mächtigen und die Namenlosen. Nun wurden Bücher geöffnet, auch das Buch des Lebens. Über alle Menschen wurde das Urteil gesprochen, und zwar nach ihren Taten, wie sie in den Büchern beschrieben waren.13 tDas Meer gab seine Toten zurück, ebenso der Tod und sein Reich. Alle, ohne jede Ausnahme, wurden entsprechend ihren Taten gerichtet.14 tDer Tod und das ganze Totenreich wurden in den See aus Feuer geworfen. Das ist der zweite Tod.

15 tUnd alle, deren Namen nicht im Buch des Lebens aufgeschrieben waren, wurden ebenfalls in den Feuersee geworfen.

Revelation 20

1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.2 And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,3 and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.5 The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.7 And when the thousand years are finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,8 and shall come forth to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.9 And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down out of heaven, and devoured them.10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.13 And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.14 And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, even the lake of fire.15 And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
