Tentang waktu seribu tahun

1 Setelah itu saya melihat seorang malaikat turun dari surga. Di tangannya ia memegang kunci jurang maut dan sebuah belenggu yang besar. 2 Lalu ia menangkap naga itu, si ular tua, -- yaitu Iblis atau Roh Jahat itu -- dan membelenggunya untuk seribu tahun lamanya. t 3 Kemudian malaikat itu membuang naga itu ke dalam jurang maut, lalu mengunci jurang itu dan menyegelnya, supaya naga itu tidak lagi dapat menipu bangsa-bangsa sebelum masa seribu tahun itu habis. Sesudah itu ia harus dilepaskan untuk waktu yang singkat.

4 Lalu saya melihat takhta-takhta, dan orang-orang yang duduk di takhta-takhta itu diberi kuasa untuk memutuskan hukuman. Saya melihat juga jiwa-jiwa orang-orang yang sudah dipenggal kepalanya karena mereka memberi kesaksian tentang Yesus, dan menyebarkan pesan dari Allah. Orang-orang itu tidak menyembah binatang, ataupun patungnya. Mereka pun tidak pernah menerima tanda binatang itu pada dahi atau pada tangan mereka. Maka mereka hidup kembali dan memerintah sebagai raja bersama Kristus selama seribu tahun. t 5 Inilah tahap pertama orang-orang mati dibangkitkan kembali. (Tetapi orang-orang mati lainnya tidak dihidupkan kembali selama masa seribu tahun itu.) 6 Berbahagialah orang-orang yang turut dibangkitkan kembali pada tahap pertama itu. Mereka layak menjadi milik Allah. Kematian tahap kedua tidak berkuasa atas mereka. Mereka akan menjadi imam-imam Allah dan imam-imam Kristus; dan mereka akan memerintah bersama Dia seribu tahun lamanya.

Iblis dikalahkan

7 Sesudah habis masa seribu tahun itu, Iblis akan dilepaskan dari penjaranya, 8 dan ia akan pergi menipu bangsa-bangsa yang tersebar di seluruh dunia, yaitu Gog dan Magog. Iblis mengumpulkan mereka untuk berperang, suatu jumlah yang besar sekali, sebanyak pasir di laut. t 9 Maka mereka pun berpencarlah ke seluruh dunia, lalu mengepung perkemahan umat Allah dan kota yang dikasihi Allah. Tetapi api turun dari langit dan memusnahkan mereka. 10 Kemudian Iblis yang menipu mereka itu, dilemparkan ke dalam lautan api dan belerang. Di situlah tempatnya binatang dan nabi palsu itu dibuang terlebih dahulu. Mereka akan disiksa siang malam untuk selama-lamanya.

Hukuman terakhir

11 Setelah itu saya melihat sebuah takhta putih yang besar dan Dia yang duduk di atasnya. Langit dan bumi lenyap dari hadapan-Nya, sehingga tidak kelihatan lagi. t 12 Dan saya melihat orang-orang mati, besar kecil, berdiri di depan takhta itu. Maka buku-buku pun dibukalah. Lalu sebuah buku yang lain dibuka, yaitu Buku Orang Hidup. Kemudian hukuman dijatuhkan ke atas orang mati, setimpal dengan perbuatan mereka menurut yang tercatat di dalam buku-buku itu. 13 Lalu laut menyerahkan orang-orang mati yang ada di dalamnya. Maut dan Alam Maut pun menyerahkan orang-orang mati yang ada padanya. Dan orang-orang mati itu semuanya dijatuhi hukuman setimpal dengan perbuatan mereka. 14 Kemudian Maut dan Alam Maut dilemparkan ke dalam lautan api. (Lautan api ini adalah kematian tahap kedua.) 15 Orang-orang yang tidak tertulis namanya di dalam Buku Orang Hidup, dibuang ke dalam lautan api. uSFM June 2003 ZB

Revelation 20

The Thousand Year Reign

1 Thent I saw an angel descending from heaven, holdingt in his hand the key to the abyss and a huge chain.2 Het seized the dragon – the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan – and tied him up for a thousand years.

3 The angelt thent threw him into the abyss and lockedt and sealed it so that he could not deceive the nations until the one thousand years were finished. (After these things he must be released for a brief period of time.)
4 Thent I saw thrones and seated on them were those who had been given authority to judge.t I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. Theset had not worshiped the beast or his image and had refused to receive his mark on their forehead or hand. Theyt came to lifet and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished.)s This is the first resurrection.

6 Blessed and holy is the one who takes partt in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them,t but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

Satan’s Final Defeat

7 Nowt when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from his prison8 and will go out to deceivet the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog,s to bring them together for the battle. They are as numerous as the grains of sand in the sea.t9 Theyt went upt on the broad plain of the eartht and encircledt the campt of the saints and the beloved city, butt fire came down from heaven and devoured them completely.t

10 And the devil who deceivedt them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur,t where the beast and the false prophet aret too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.

The Great White Throne

11 Thent I saw a larget white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heavent fledts from his presence, and no place was found for them.12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Thent books were opened, and another book was opened – the book of life.t Sot the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.t13 Thet sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Deaths and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.14 Thent Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death – the lake of fire.

15 Ift anyone’s namet was not found written in the book of life, that persont was thrown into the lake of fire.
