آسمان و زمین جدید

1 سپس آسمانی جدید و زمینی جدید دیدم، زیرا آسمان اوّل و زمین اوّل سپری شده بود و دیگر دریایی وجود نداشت.2 و شهر مقدّس اورشلیم جدید را دیدم که از آسمان از نزد خدا پایین می‌آمد، آماده شده همچون عروسی که برای شوهر خود آراسته شده باشد.3 و از تخت، صدای بلندی شنیدم که گفت:
«اینک، مسکنt خدا با آدمیان است،
و او با آنها ساکن خواهد شد؛
و ایشان قوم او خواهند بود،
و خود خدا با ایشان خواهد بود
و خدای ایشان خواهد بود.4 او هر اشکی را از چشمان آنها
پاک خواهد کرد.
و دیگر مرگ نخواهد بود؛
و ماتم و شیون و درد
وجود نخواهد داشت،
زیرا چیزهای اوّل سپری شد.»5 سپس آن تخت‌نشین گفت: «اینک همه چیز را نو می‌سازم.» و گفت: «اینها را بنویس زیرا این سخنان درخور اعتماد است و راست است.»6 باز به من گفت: «به انجام رسید! من ”الف“ و ”ی“ و ابتدا و انتها هستم. من به هر که تشنه باشد، از چشمۀ آب حیات به‌رایگان خواهم داد.7 هر که غالب آید، این همه را به میراث خواهد برد، و من خدای او خواهم بود و او پسر من خواهد بود.8 امّا نصیب بزدلان و بی‌ایمانان و مفسدان و آدمکشان و بی‌عفتان و جادوگران و بت‌پرستان و همۀ دروغگویان، دریاچۀ مشتعل به آتش و گوگرد خواهد بود. این مرگ دوّم است.»

اورشلیم جدید

9 یکی از آن هفت فرشته که هفت پیالۀ پُر از هفت بلای آخر را داشتند، آمد و به من گفت: «بیا! من عروس، یعنی همسر بره را به تو نشان خواهم داد.»10 آنگاه مرا در روح به فراز کوهی بزرگ و بلند برد و شهر مقدّس اورشلیم را به من نشان داد که از آسمان از نزد خدا فرود می‌آمد.11 جلال خدا از آن می‌تابید و درخشندگیش مانند گوهری بسیار گرانبها، همچون یشم، و به شفافیت بلور بود.12 دیواری بزرگ و بلند داشت که دارای دوازده دروازه بود و دوازده فرشته نزد دروازه‌هایش بودند. و بر هر یک از آن دروازه‌ها نام یکی از دوازده قبیلۀ بنی‌اسرائیل نوشته شده بود.13 سه دروازه در سمت مشرق، سه دروازه در سمت شمال، سه دروازه در سمت جنوب و سه دروازه در سمت مغرب قرار داشت.14 و دیوار شهر دارای دوازده پی بود که بر آنها نام دوازده رسولِ بره نوشته شده بود.15 و آن که با من سخن می‌گفت، میلۀ اندازه‌گیری زرّینی به‌دست داشت تا شهر و دروازه‌ها و دیوار آن را اندازه‌گیری کند.16 شهر به شکل مربع، و طول و عرض آن یکسان بود. او شهر را با آن میله اندازه گرفت. طول و عرض و ارتفاع شهر با هم مساوی و برابر با دوازده هزار پرتابِ تیرt بود.17 و ضخامت دیوار آن صد و چهل و چهار واحدt اندازه‌گیری شد، یعنی به‌مقیاس انسان که فرشته به‌کار می‌بُرد.18 دیوار شهر از یشم ساخته شده بود، و شهر از طلای ناب و مانند شیشه شفاف بود.19 پی دیوار شهر با هر گونه گوهر گرانبها تزیین شده بود. پی اوّل از یشم بود، دوّمین از لاجورد،t سوّمین از عقیق سفید، چهارمین از زمرّد،20 پنجمین از عقیق سرخ، ششمین از عقیق آتشین، هفتمین از زِبَرجَد، هشتمین از یاقوت کبود، نهمین از یاقوت زرد، دهمین از عقیق سبز، یازدهمین از فیروزهt و دوازدهمین از لعل بنفش.t21 دوازده دروازۀ شهر، دوازده مروارید بودند، یعنی هر یک از دروازه‌ها یک مروارید بود. و میدان شهر از طلای ناب و مانند شیشه شفاف بود.22 معبدی در شهر ندیدم، زیرا خداوندْ خدای قادر مطلق و بره، معبد آن هستند.23 و شهر نیازی به خورشید و ماه ندارد که بر آن بتابند زیرا جلال خدا آن را روشن می‌کند و بره چراغ آن است.24 و قومها در نور آن سلوک خواهند کرد و پادشاهان زمین، جاه و جلال خود را به آنجا خواهند آورد.25 دروازه‌های آن هرگز در روز بسته نخواهد شد، زیرا در آنجا شب وجود نخواهد داشت.26 فرّ و شکوه قومها به آنجا آورده خواهد شد.27 امّا هیچ چیز ناپاک و هیچ‌کس که مرتکب اعمال قبیح و فریبکاری شود، به هیچ روی وارد آن نخواهد شد، فقط کسانی که نامشان در دفترِ حیاتِ بره نوشته شده است، بدان راه خواهند داشت.

REVELATION 21

The New Heaven and //the New Earth

1  t I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and so had the sea.

2 t Then I saw New Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down from God in heaven. It was like a bride dressed in her wedding gown and ready to meet her husband.

3  t I heard a loud voice shout from the throne:
God's home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people.

4 t He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever.

5 Then the one sitting on the throne said:
I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted. 6 t Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, t the beginning and the end. I will freely give water from the life-giving fountain to everyone who is thirsty.

7 t All who win the victory will be given these blessings. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

8 But I will tell you what will happen to cowards and to everyone who is unfaithful or dirty-minded or who murders or is sexually immoral or uses witchcraft or worships idols or tells lies. They will be thrown into that lake of fire and burning sulfur. This is the second death.t

The New Jerusalem

10 t Then with the help of the Spirit, he took me to the top of a very high mountain. There he showed me the holy city of Jerusalem coming down from God in heaven.
11 The glory of God made the city bright. It was dazzling and crystal clear like a precious jasper stone. 12 t The city had a high and thick wall with twelve gates, and each one of them was guarded by an angel. On each of the gates was written the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 Three of these gates were on the east, three were on the north, three more were on the south, and the other three were on the west.

14 The city was built on twelve foundation stones. On each of the stones was written the name of one of the Lamb's twelve apostles.
15  t The angel who spoke to me had a gold measuring stick to measure the city and its gates and its walls. 16 The city was shaped like a cube, because it was just as high as it was wide. When the angel measured the city, it was about 2,400 kilometers high and 2,400 kilometers wide.

17 Then the angel measured the wall, and by our measurements it was about 60 meters high.
18  t t The wall was built of jasper, and the city was made of pure gold, clear as crystal. 19 Each of the twelve foundations was a precious stone. The first was jasper, t the second was sapphire, the third was agate, the fourth was emerald, 20 the fifth was onyx, the sixth was carnelian, the seventh was chrysolite, the eighth was beryl, the ninth was topaz, the tenth was chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth, and the twelfth was amethyst.

21 Each of the twelve gates was a solid pearl. The streets of the city were made of pure gold, clear as crystal.
22 I did not see a temple there. The Lord God All-Powerful and the Lamb were its temple.

23 t And the city did not need the sun or the moon. The glory of God was shining on it, and the Lamb was its light.
24  t Nations will walk by the light of that city, and kings will bring their riches there. 25 t Its gates are always open during the day, and night never comes. 26 The glorious treasures of nations will be brought into the city. 27 t But nothing unworthy will be allowed to enter. No one who is dirty-minded or who tells lies will be there. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of lifet will be in the city.
