Objawienie św. Jana 21

Nowe niebo i nowa ziemia

1 Potem zobaczyłem nowe niebo i nową ziemię, bowiem obecna ziemia i niebo zniknęły. Nie było również morza.

2 I ujrzałem święte miasto – nową Jerozolimę, zstępującą z nieba, od Boga. Wyglądała wspaniale – jak panna młoda, która pięknie ubrała się dla swojego męża.

3 Wtedy usłyszałem donośny głos dobiegający od tronu: „Odtąd Bóg będzie mieszkał wśród ludzi. Będą Jego ludem, a On będzie ich Bogiem

4 i otrze z ich oczu wszelkie łzy. Nie będzie już więcej śmierci, smutku, płaczu ani bólu. Wszystko to przeminęło wraz ze starym światem”.

5 Wówczas Ten, który zasiada na tronie, powiedział: „Oto czynię wszystko nowe!”. Potem zwrócił się do mnie:
– Zapisz to, słowa te są bowiem wiarygodne i prawdziwe.

6 I mówił dalej: „Wykonało się! Ja jestem Alfa i Omega, Początek i Koniec. Spragnionym za darmo dam pić ze źródła wody życia.

7 Zwycięzcy otrzymają wszystko: Ja będę ich Bogiem, a oni – moimi dziećmi.

8 Natomiast tchórze, niewierzący, zwyrodnialcy, mordercy oraz ci, którzy prowadzą rozwiązłe życie, uprawiają czary, oddają cześć podobiznom bożków lub kłamią, trafią do ognistego jeziora płonącej siarki, które jest drugą śmiercią”.

9 Wtedy podszedł do mnie jeden z siedmiu aniołów, trzymających puchary napełnione siedmioma ostatecznymi klęskami, i powiedział:– Chodź, pokażę ci pannę młodą, którą zostanie małżonką Baranka.

Miasto Bożej chwały

10 Dzięki mocy Ducha, anioł przeniósł mnie na szczyt wysokiej góry, skąd pokazał mi Jerozolimę – święte miasto, zstępujące z nieba, od Boga.

11 Jaśniało ono Bożą chwałą jak kosztowny klejnot – wyglądało jak przejrzysty, kryształowy jaspis.

12 Miało potężny, wysoki mur oraz dwanaście bram strzeżonych przez dwunastu aniołów. Na każdej z nich wypisane było imię jednego z dwunastu rodów Izraela.

13 Z każdej strony – północnej, południowej, wschodniej i zachodniej – znajdowały się trzy bramy.

14 Mur miasta zbudowany był na fundamencie składającym się z dwunastu warstw, na których wypisane były imiona dwunastu apostołów Baranka.

15 Anioł, który do mnie mówił, miał z sobą złotą miarę, którą miał zmierzyć miasto, jego bramy oraz mur.

16 Miasto zbudowane było na planie kwadratu – jego długość równała się szerokości. Anioł zmierzył długość, szerokość i wysokość miasta – każdy z tych wymiarów wynosił dwa tysiące czterysta kilometrów.

17 Potem zmierzył mur – jego grubość wynosiła sześćdziesiąt pięć metrów.

18 Całe miasto było zbudowane ze szczerego złota, czystego jak kryształ, a jego mur – z jaspisu.

19 Poszczególne warstwy fundamentu, na którym stał mur, były ozdobione szlachetnymi kamieniami: pierwsza warstwa – jaspisem, druga – szafirem, trzecia – chalcedonem, czwarta – szmaragdem,

20 piąta – sardoniksem, szósta – karneolem, siódma – chryzolitem, ósma – berylem, dziewiąta – topazem, dziesiąta – chryzoprazem, jedenasta – hiacyntem, dwunasta – ametystem.

21 Każda z dwunastu bram wykonana była natomiast z jednej perły, a plac miasta wyłożony był szczerym złotem, czystym jak kryształ.

22 Nie zauważyłem tam natomiast żadnej świątyni, ponieważ był nią sam Pan, wszechmocny Bóg, oraz Baranek.

23 Miasto to nie potrzebowało słońca ani księżyca, bo rozjaśniała je chwała Boga, a jego światłem był Baranek.

24 Jasność ta będzie świecić narodom świata, a ich władcy wniosą do tego miasta wszystko, co cenne.

25 Jego bramy będą otwarte przez cały dzień, bo nie będzie tam nocy.

26 Do miasta tego zostaną wniesione wszystkie wspaniałości narodów.

27 Nie wejdzie do niego natomiast nic nieczystego ani żaden człowiek, którzy czyni zło i kłamie. Znajdą się tam tylko ci, którzy zostali zapisani w księdze życia Baranka.

REVELATION 21

The New Heaven and //the New Earth

1  t I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and so had the sea.

2 t Then I saw New Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down from God in heaven. It was like a bride dressed in her wedding gown and ready to meet her husband.

3  t I heard a loud voice shout from the throne:
God's home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people.

4 t He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever.

5 Then the one sitting on the throne said:
I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted. 6 t Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, t the beginning and the end. I will freely give water from the life-giving fountain to everyone who is thirsty.

7 t All who win the victory will be given these blessings. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

8 But I will tell you what will happen to cowards and to everyone who is unfaithful or dirty-minded or who murders or is sexually immoral or uses witchcraft or worships idols or tells lies. They will be thrown into that lake of fire and burning sulfur. This is the second death.t

The New Jerusalem

10 t Then with the help of the Spirit, he took me to the top of a very high mountain. There he showed me the holy city of Jerusalem coming down from God in heaven.
11 The glory of God made the city bright. It was dazzling and crystal clear like a precious jasper stone. 12 t The city had a high and thick wall with twelve gates, and each one of them was guarded by an angel. On each of the gates was written the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 Three of these gates were on the east, three were on the north, three more were on the south, and the other three were on the west.

14 The city was built on twelve foundation stones. On each of the stones was written the name of one of the Lamb's twelve apostles.
15  t The angel who spoke to me had a gold measuring stick to measure the city and its gates and its walls. 16 The city was shaped like a cube, because it was just as high as it was wide. When the angel measured the city, it was about 2,400 kilometers high and 2,400 kilometers wide.

17 Then the angel measured the wall, and by our measurements it was about 60 meters high.
18  t t The wall was built of jasper, and the city was made of pure gold, clear as crystal. 19 Each of the twelve foundations was a precious stone. The first was jasper, t the second was sapphire, the third was agate, the fourth was emerald, 20 the fifth was onyx, the sixth was carnelian, the seventh was chrysolite, the eighth was beryl, the ninth was topaz, the tenth was chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth, and the twelfth was amethyst.

21 Each of the twelve gates was a solid pearl. The streets of the city were made of pure gold, clear as crystal.
22 I did not see a temple there. The Lord God All-Powerful and the Lamb were its temple.

23 t And the city did not need the sun or the moon. The glory of God was shining on it, and the Lamb was its light.
24  t Nations will walk by the light of that city, and kings will bring their riches there. 25 t Its gates are always open during the day, and night never comes. 26 The glorious treasures of nations will be brought into the city. 27 t But nothing unworthy will be allowed to enter. No one who is dirty-minded or who tells lies will be there. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of lifet will be in the city.
