Apocalipsis 21

Cielo nuevo y tierra nueva

1 Vi entonces un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva,t porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra habían dejado de existir, y el mar tampoco existía ya.2 Vi también que la ciudad santa,t la nueva Jerusalén, descendía del cielo, de Dios,t ataviada como una novia que se adorna para su esposo.t3 Entonces oí que desde el trono salía una potente voz, la cual decía: «Aquí está el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres. Él vivirá con ellos, y ellos serán su pueblo,t y Dios mismo estará con ellos y será su Dios.4 Dios enjugará las lágrimas de los ojos de ellos, y ya no habrá muerte,t ni más llanto, ni lamento ni dolor;t porque las primeras cosas habrán dejado de existir.

5 El que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: «Mira, yo hago nuevas todas las cosas.» Y me dijo: «Escribe, porque estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas.»6 También me dijo: «Ya está hecho. Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tenga sed, yo le daré a beber gratuitamentet de la fuente del agua de la vida.7 El que salga vencedor heredará todas las cosas, y yo seré su Dios y él será mi hijo.t8 Pero los cobardes, los incrédulos, los abominables, los homicidas, los que incurren en inmoralidad sexual, los hechiceros, los idólatras y todos los mentirosos tendrán su parte en el lago que arde con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda.

La nueva Jerusalén

9 Entonces se me acercó uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las siete plagas finales, y me dijo: «Ven acá, voy a mostrarte a la novia, la esposa del Cordero.»10 Y en el Espíritu me llevó a un monte de gran altura, y me mostró la gran ciudad santa de Jerusalén,t la cual descendía del cielo, de Dios.11 Tenía la gloria de Dios y brillaba como una piedra preciosa, semejante a una piedra de jaspe, transparente como el cristal.12 Tenía una muralla grande y elevada, y doce puertas; en cada puerta había un ángel, e inscripciones que correspondían a los nombres de las doce tribus de Israel.13 Tres puertas daban al oriente, tres puertas al norte, tres puertas al sur, y tres puertas al occidente.t14 La muralla de la ciudad tenía doce cimientos, y en ellos estaban los nombres de los doce apóstoles del Cordero.

15 El que hablaba conmigo tenía una caña de oro para medir la ciudad, sus puertas y su muralla.t16 La ciudad era cuadrada, pues medía lo mismo de ancho que de largo. Él midió la ciudad con la caña, y de largo y de ancho medía dos mil doscientos kilómetros.t17 También midió la muralla, y medía sesenta y cinco metros, según las medidas empleadas por la gente y que el ángel estaba usando.18 La muralla estaba hecha de jaspe, pero la ciudad era de oro puro, diáfana como el cristal.19 Los cimientos de la muralla de la ciudad estaban adornados con toda clase de piedras preciosas. El primer cimiento era de jaspe; el segundo, de zafiro; el tercero, de ágata; el cuarto, de esmeralda;20 el quinto, de ónice; el sexto, de cornalina; el séptimo, de crisólito; el octavo, de berilo; el noveno, de topacio; el décimo, de crisoprasa; el undécimo, de jacinto, y el duodécimo, de amatista.21 Las doce puertas eran doce perlas,t es decir, que cada una de las puertas era una perla, y la calle de la ciudad era de oro puro y transparente como el vidrio.

22 No vi en ella ningún templo, porque su templo son el Señor y Dios Todopoderoso, y el Cordero.23 La ciudad no tiene necesidad de que el sol y la luna brillen en ella, porque la ilumina la gloria de Diost y el Cordero es su lumbrera.24 Las naciones caminarán a la luz de ella, y los reyes de la tierra traerán a ella sus riquezas y su honra.25 Sus puertas jamás serán cerradas de día, y en ella no habrá noche.26 A ella serán llevadas las riquezas y la honra de las naciones,t27 y no entrará en ella nada que sea impuro,t o detestable, o falso, sino solamente los que están inscritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.

REVELATION 21

The New Heaven and //the New Earth

1  t I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and so had the sea.

2 t Then I saw New Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down from God in heaven. It was like a bride dressed in her wedding gown and ready to meet her husband.

3  t I heard a loud voice shout from the throne:
God's home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people.

4 t He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever.

5 Then the one sitting on the throne said:
I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted. 6 t Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, t the beginning and the end. I will freely give water from the life-giving fountain to everyone who is thirsty.

7 t All who win the victory will be given these blessings. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

8 But I will tell you what will happen to cowards and to everyone who is unfaithful or dirty-minded or who murders or is sexually immoral or uses witchcraft or worships idols or tells lies. They will be thrown into that lake of fire and burning sulfur. This is the second death.t

The New Jerusalem

10 t Then with the help of the Spirit, he took me to the top of a very high mountain. There he showed me the holy city of Jerusalem coming down from God in heaven.
11 The glory of God made the city bright. It was dazzling and crystal clear like a precious jasper stone. 12 t The city had a high and thick wall with twelve gates, and each one of them was guarded by an angel. On each of the gates was written the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 Three of these gates were on the east, three were on the north, three more were on the south, and the other three were on the west.

14 The city was built on twelve foundation stones. On each of the stones was written the name of one of the Lamb's twelve apostles.
15  t The angel who spoke to me had a gold measuring stick to measure the city and its gates and its walls. 16 The city was shaped like a cube, because it was just as high as it was wide. When the angel measured the city, it was about 2,400 kilometers high and 2,400 kilometers wide.

17 Then the angel measured the wall, and by our measurements it was about 60 meters high.
18  t t The wall was built of jasper, and the city was made of pure gold, clear as crystal. 19 Each of the twelve foundations was a precious stone. The first was jasper, t the second was sapphire, the third was agate, the fourth was emerald, 20 the fifth was onyx, the sixth was carnelian, the seventh was chrysolite, the eighth was beryl, the ninth was topaz, the tenth was chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth, and the twelfth was amethyst.

21 Each of the twelve gates was a solid pearl. The streets of the city were made of pure gold, clear as crystal.
22 I did not see a temple there. The Lord God All-Powerful and the Lamb were its temple.

23 t And the city did not need the sun or the moon. The glory of God was shining on it, and the Lamb was its light.
24  t Nations will walk by the light of that city, and kings will bring their riches there. 25 t Its gates are always open during the day, and night never comes. 26 The glorious treasures of nations will be brought into the city. 27 t But nothing unworthy will be allowed to enter. No one who is dirty-minded or who tells lies will be there. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of lifet will be in the city.
