Offenbarung 21

Der neue Himmel und die neue Erde

1 Und ich sah einen neuen Himmel und eine neue Erde; denn der erste Himmel und die erste Erde waren vergangen, und das Meer ist nicht mehr.2 Und ich, Johannes, sah die heilige Stadt, das neue Jerusalem, von Gott aus dem Himmel herabsteigen, zubereitet wie eine für ihren Mann geschmückte Braut.3 Und ich hörte eine laute Stimme aus dem Himmel sagen: Siehe da, das Zelt Gottes bei den Menschen! Und er wird bei ihnen wohnen, und sie werden seine Völker sein, und Gott selbst wird bei ihnen sein, ihr Gott.

4 Und Gott wird abwischen alle Tränen von ihren Augen, und der Tod wird nicht mehr sein, weder Leid noch Geschrei noch Schmerz wird mehr sein; denn das Erste ist vergangen.
5 Und der auf dem Thron saß, sprach: Siehe, ich mache alles neu! Und er sprach zu mir: Schreibe; denn diese Worte sind wahrhaftig und gewiß!6 Und er sprach zu mir: Es ist geschehen! Ich bin das A und das O, der Anfang und das Ende. Ich will dem Dürstenden geben aus dem Quell des Wassers des Lebens umsonst!7 Wer überwindet, der wird alles erben, und ich werde sein Gott sein, und er wird mein Sohn sein.

8 Den Feiglingen aber und Ungläubigen und mit Greueln Befleckten und Mördern und Unzüchtigen und Zauberern und Götzendienern und allen Lügnern wird ihr Teil sein in dem See, der von Feuer und Schwefel brennt; das ist der zweite Tod.

Das neue Jerusalem

9 Und es kam zu mir einer von den sieben Engeln, welche die sieben Schalen hatten, die mit den sieben letzten Plagen gefüllt waren, und redete mit mir und sprach: Komm, ich will dir die Frau, die Braut des Lammes zeigen!10 Und er brachte mich im Geist auf einen großen und hohen Berg und zeigte mir die große Stadt, das heilige Jerusalem, die von Gott aus dem Himmel herabkam,11 welche die Herrlichkeit Gottes hat. Und ihr Lichtglanz gleicht dem köstlichsten Edelstein, wie ein kristallheller Jaspis.12 Und sie hat eine große und hohe Mauer und zwölf Tore, und an den Toren zwölf Engel, und Namen angeschrieben, nämlich die der zwölf Stämme der Kinder Israels.13 Von Osten drei Tore, von Norden drei Tore, von Süden drei Tore, von Westen drei Tore.

14 Und die Mauer der Stadt hatte zwölf Grundsteine, und in ihnen waren die Namen der zwölf Apostel des Lammes.
15 Und der mit mir redete, hatte ein goldenes Rohr, um die Stadt und ihre Tore und ihre Mauer zu messen.16 Und die Stadt bildet ein Viereck, und ihre Länge ist so groß wie auch ihre Breite. Und er maß die Stadt mit dem Rohr, auf zwölftausend Stadien; die Länge und die Breite und die Höhe derselben sind gleich.

17 Und er maß ihre Mauer: hundertvierundvierzig Ellen [nach dem] Maß eines Menschen, das der Engel hat.
18 Und der Baustoff ihrer Mauer war Jaspis, und die Stadt war aus reinem Gold, wie reines Glas.19 Und die Grundsteine der Stadtmauer waren mit allerlei Edelsteinen geschmückt; der erste Grundstein ein Jaspis, der zweite ein Saphir, der dritte ein Chalcedon, der vierte ein Smaragd,20 der fünfte ein Sardonyx, der sechste ein Sardis, der siebente ein Chrysolit, der achte ein Beryll, der neunte ein Topas, der zehnte ein Chrysopras, der elfte ein Hyazinth, der zwölfte ein Amethyst.

21 Und die zwölf Tore waren zwölf Perlen, jedes der Tore aus einer Perle, und die Straßen der Stadt waren aus reinem Gold, wie durchsichtiges Glas.
22 Und einen Tempel sah ich nicht in ihr; denn der Herr, Gott der Allmächtige, ist ihr Tempel, und das Lamm.23 Und die Stadt bedarf nicht der Sonne noch des Mondes, daß sie in ihr scheinen; denn die Herrlichkeit Gottes erleuchtet sie, und ihre Leuchte ist das Lamm.24 Und die Heiden, die gerettet werden, werden in ihrem Licht wandeln, und die Könige der Erde werden ihre Herrlichkeit und Ehre in sie bringen.25 Und ihre Tore sollen niemals geschlossen werden den ganzen Tag; denn dort wird keine Nacht sein.26 Und man wird die Herrlichkeit und die Ehre der Völker in sie bringen.

27 Und es wird niemals jemand in sie eingehen, der verunreinigt, noch jemand, der Greuel und Lüge verübt, sondern nur die, welche geschrieben stehen im Buch des Lebens des Lammes.

REVELATION 21

The New Heaven and //the New Earth

1  t I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and so had the sea.

2 t Then I saw New Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down from God in heaven. It was like a bride dressed in her wedding gown and ready to meet her husband.

3  t I heard a loud voice shout from the throne:
God's home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people.

4 t He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever.

5 Then the one sitting on the throne said:
I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted. 6 t Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, t the beginning and the end. I will freely give water from the life-giving fountain to everyone who is thirsty.

7 t All who win the victory will be given these blessings. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

8 But I will tell you what will happen to cowards and to everyone who is unfaithful or dirty-minded or who murders or is sexually immoral or uses witchcraft or worships idols or tells lies. They will be thrown into that lake of fire and burning sulfur. This is the second death.t

The New Jerusalem

10 t Then with the help of the Spirit, he took me to the top of a very high mountain. There he showed me the holy city of Jerusalem coming down from God in heaven.
11 The glory of God made the city bright. It was dazzling and crystal clear like a precious jasper stone. 12 t The city had a high and thick wall with twelve gates, and each one of them was guarded by an angel. On each of the gates was written the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 Three of these gates were on the east, three were on the north, three more were on the south, and the other three were on the west.

14 The city was built on twelve foundation stones. On each of the stones was written the name of one of the Lamb's twelve apostles.
15  t The angel who spoke to me had a gold measuring stick to measure the city and its gates and its walls. 16 The city was shaped like a cube, because it was just as high as it was wide. When the angel measured the city, it was about 2,400 kilometers high and 2,400 kilometers wide.

17 Then the angel measured the wall, and by our measurements it was about 60 meters high.
18  t t The wall was built of jasper, and the city was made of pure gold, clear as crystal. 19 Each of the twelve foundations was a precious stone. The first was jasper, t the second was sapphire, the third was agate, the fourth was emerald, 20 the fifth was onyx, the sixth was carnelian, the seventh was chrysolite, the eighth was beryl, the ninth was topaz, the tenth was chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth, and the twelfth was amethyst.

21 Each of the twelve gates was a solid pearl. The streets of the city were made of pure gold, clear as crystal.
22 I did not see a temple there. The Lord God All-Powerful and the Lamb were its temple.

23 t And the city did not need the sun or the moon. The glory of God was shining on it, and the Lamb was its light.
24  t Nations will walk by the light of that city, and kings will bring their riches there. 25 t Its gates are always open during the day, and night never comes. 26 The glorious treasures of nations will be brought into the city. 27 t But nothing unworthy will be allowed to enter. No one who is dirty-minded or who tells lies will be there. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of lifet will be in the city.
