Apocalipse 21

O novo céu e a nova terra

1 Depois vi um novo céu e uma nova terra. O primeiro céu e a primeira terra tinham desaparecido e o mar já não existia mais.2 Vi também a cidade santa, a nova Jerusalém, que descia do céu, da parte de Deus. Ela estava vestida como uma noiva enfeitada para o seu marido.

3 Então ouvi uma voz forte que vinha do trono, dizendo:
—Agora, a morada de Deus vai ser com os homens. Deus habitará com eles e eles serão povos de Deus. Então, o próprio Deus estará com eles e Ele lhes será por Deus.

4 Deus enxugará todas as lágrimas de seus olhos e a morte já não existirá mais. Não haverá mais luto, nem choro e nem dor, porque as coisas velhas já passaram.

5 E aquele que estava sentado no trono disse:
—Olhem, Eu estou fazendo tudo novo!
E acrescentou:
—Escreva isto, porque estas palavras são verdadeiras e dignas de confiança.

6 E Ele ainda me disse:
—Tudo está feito! Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômegat, o Princípio e o Fim. A todos os que têm sede Eu darei de beber, de graça, da fonte da água da vida.7 Aquele que vencer herdará todas estas coisas e Eu serei o seu Deus e ele será o meu filho.

8 Entretanto, os covardes, os incrédulos, os pervertidos, os assassinos, os que praticam imoralidade sexual, os que praticam a feitiçaria, os que adoram ídolos e todos os mentirosos terão a sua parte no lago que queima com fogo e enxofre. E essa é a segunda morte.

A nova Jerusalém

9 Depois, um dos sete anjos que tinham as sete taças com as últimas sete pragas aproximou-se de mim e disse:
—Venha, eu vou lhe mostrar a noiva, a esposa do Cordeiro.10 Enquanto eu estava sendo guiado pelo Espíritot, o anjo me levou até uma montanha grande e alta e me mostrou a santa cidade de Jerusalém, que descia do céu, da parte de Deus.11 Ela tinha a glória de Deus e o seu brilho parecia o brilho de uma pedra preciosíssima, assim como a pedra cristalina de jaspet.12 A cidade tinha uma muralha muito grande e alta com doze portas. Havia um anjo em cada porta e, nas portas, estavam escritos os nomes das doze tribos de Israelt.13 Havia três portas no leste, três no norte, três no sul e três no oeste.

14 A muralha da cidade tinha doze alicerces e, em cada um deles, estava escrito o nome de um dos doze apóstolost do Cordeiro.
15 O anjo que falava comigo tinha uma vara de ouro para medir a cidade, as suas portas e a sua muralha.16 A cidade era perfeitamente quadrada; o seu comprimento era igual à sua largura. O anjo mediu a cidade com a vara e deu 12.000 estádiost de comprimento. O seu comprimento, a sua largura e a sua altura eram iguais.17 O anjo também mediu a muralha e deu 144 côvadost, medindo com o braço de um homem, isto é, de um anjo.18 A estrutura da muralha era de jaspet, e a cidade era feita de ouro puro, brilhante como o cristal.19 Os alicerces da muralha da cidade eram decorados com todo tipo de pedras preciosas. O primeiro alicerce era de jaspe; o segundo, de safira; o terceiro, de ágata; o quarto, de esmeralda;20 o quinto, de ônix; o sexto, de sárdio; o sétimo, de crisólito; o oitavo, de berilo; o nono, de topázio; o décimo, de crisópraso; o décimo primeiro, de jacinto; e o décimo segundo de ametista.

21 As doze portas eram doze pérolas e cada uma dessas portas era feita de uma só pérola. As ruas da cidade eram feitas de ouro puro e brilhavam como cristal.
22 Não vi nenhum templo na cidade, porque o Senhor Deus Todo-poderoso e o Cordeiro são o seu templo.23 A cidade não precisa nem do sol nem da lua para iluminá-la, pois a glória de Deus a ilumina e o Cordeiro é a sua lâmpada.24 As nações serão guiadas pela luz dessa lâmpada e os reis do mundo trarão a sua glória para a cidade.25 As suas portas jamais se fecharão de dia e nela não haverá noite.26 Das nações serão trazidas riqueza e glória para aquela cidade,

27 e nela jamais entrará nem coisa impura nem ninguém que faça coisas vergonhosas ou que seja mentiroso. Só entrarão aqueles cujos nomes estão escritos no Livro da Vidat que pertence ao Cordeiro.

Revelation 21

The New Heaven and Earth

1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among themt,4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."

5 And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He *said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."6 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.7 He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.8 But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, "Come here, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."

The New Jerusalem

10 And he carried me away tin the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,11 having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.12 It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.13  There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west.14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall.16 The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, tfifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.17 And he measured its wall, tseventy-two yards, according to human measurements, which are also angelic measurements. 18 The material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.19 The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.25 In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed;26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
