Apocalypse 22

1 Finalement, l’*ange me montra le fleuve de la vie, limpide comme du cristal, qui jaillissait du trône de Dieu et de l’Agneau.

2 Au milieu de l’avenue de la ville, entre deux bras du fleuve, se trouve l’arbre de vie. Il produit douze récoltes, chaque mois il porte son fruit. Ses feuilles servent à guérir les nations.

3 Il n’y aura plus aucune malédiction. Le trône de Dieu et de l’Agneau sera dans la ville. Ses serviteurs lui rendront un culte:

4 ils verront sa face et porteront son nom sur leurs fronts.

5 Il n’y aura plus jamais de nuit. On n’aura donc plus besoin ni de la lumière d’une lampe, ni de celle du soleil, car le Seigneur Dieu répandra sur eux sa lumière. Et ils régneront éternellement.

CONCLUSION

6 L’*ange me dit:
—Ces paroles sont vraies et entièrement dignes de foi. Dieu le Seigneur qui a inspiré ses *prophètes, a envoyé son ange, pour montrer à ses serviteurs ce qui doit arriver bientôt.

7 —Voici, dit Jésus, je viens bientôt! Heureux celui qui garde les paroles prophétiques de ce livre.

8 Moi, Jean, j’ai entendu et vu tout cela. Après avoir entendu et vu ces choses, je me prosternai aux pieds de l’ange qui me les avait montrées, et j’allais l’adorer.

9 —Non, me dit-il, ne fais pas cela! Je suis ton compagnon de service et celui de tes frères, les *prophètes, et de ceux qui obéissent aux paroles de ce livre. Adore Dieu!

10 Et il ajouta:
—Ne tiens pas secrètes les paroles prophétiques de ce livre, car le temps de leur accomplissement est proche.

11 Que celui qui commet le mal continue à mal agir. Que celui qui est impur continue à s’adonner à l’impureté; mais que celui qui est juste continue à faire ce qui est juste, et que celui qui vit pour Dieu continue à vivre pour lui.

12 —Oui, dit Jésus, je viens bientôt. J’apporte avec moi mes récompenses pour rendre à chacun selon ce qu’il aura fait.

13 Je suis l’Alpha et l’Oméga, le premier et le dernier, le commencement et la fin.

14 Heureux ceux qui lavent leurs vêtements. Ils auront le droit de manger du fruit de l’arbre de vie et de franchir les portes de la ville.

15 Mais dehors les hommes ignobles, ceux qui pratiquent la magie, les débauchés, les meurtriers, ceux qui adorent des idoles et tous ceux qui aiment et pratiquent le mensonge.

16 Moi, Jésus, j’ai envoyé mon *ange pour rendre témoignage à ces vérités destinées aux Eglises. Je suis le rejeton de la racine de *David, son descendant. C’est moi, l’étoile brillante du matin.

17 Et l’Esprit et l’Epouse disent:
—Viens! Que celui qui entend ces paroles dise:
—Viens! Que celui qui a soif vienne.
Que celui qui veut de l’eau de la vie la reçoive gratuitement.

18 Moi, je le déclare solennellement à tous ceux qui entendent les paroles prophétiques de ce livre: si quelqu’un y ajoute quoi que ce soit, Dieu ajoutera à son sort les fléaux décrits dans ce livre.

19 Si quelqu’un retranche quelque chose des paroles prophétiques de ce livre, Dieu lui ôtera tout droit à l’arbre de vie et à la ville sainte décrits dans ce livre.

20 Le témoin qui affirme ces choses déclare:
—Oui, je viens bientôt!
Oh oui, qu’il en soit ainsi: Viens Seigneur Jésus!

21 Que le Seigneur Jésus accorde sa grâce à tous.

Revelation 22

1 Thent the angelt showed me the river of the water of life – water as clear as crystal – pouring outt from the throne of God and of the Lamb,2 flowing down the middle of the city’st main street.t On each sidet of the river is the tree of life producing twelve kindst of fruit, yielding its fruit every month of the year.t Its leaves are for the healing of the nations.3 And there will no longer be any curse,t and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city.t Hist servantst will worshipt him,4 and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

5 Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.

A Final Reminder

6 Thent the angelt said to me, “These words are reliablet and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servantst what must happen soon.”

7 (Look! I am coming soon!
Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy expressed in this book.)s
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things,t and when I heard and saw them,t I threw myself downt to worship at the feet of the angel who was showing them to me.9 Butt he said to me, “Do not do this!t I am a fellow servantt with you and with your brothers the prophets, and with those who obeyt the words of this book. Worship God!”10 Thent he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy contained in this book, because the time is near.

11 The evildoer must continue to do evil,t and the one who is morally filthyt must continue to be filthy. Thet one who is righteous must continue to act righteously, and the one who is holy must continue to be holy.”

12 (Look! I am coming soon,
and my reward is with me to payt each one according to what he has done!

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the first and the last,
the beginning and the end!)s
14 Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have accesst to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.

15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcererst and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood!t
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star!”t

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
18 I testify to the one who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues describedt in this book.

19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of lifes and in the holy city that are described in this book.
20 The one who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.s
