Johannes' åpenbaring 22
Livets vann og livets tre
1 t Engelen viste meg nå en elv med livets vann, klar som krystall. Den springer ut fra Guds og Lammets trone. 2 t Midt mellom byens gate og elven står livets tre, fritt til begge sider. Det bærer frukt tolv ganger og gir sin frukt hver måned. Og bladene på treet er til legedom for folkene. 3 t Det skal ikke lenger finnes noen forbannelse. Guds og Lammets trone skal være i byen, og hans tjenere skal tjene ham. 4 t De skal se hans ansikt, og de skal ha hans navn på sin panne.
5 t Natten skal ikke være mer, og de skal ikke ha bruk for lys av lampe eller av sol, for Herren Gud skal lyse over dem. Og de skal herske som konger i all evighet.Kom, Herre Jesus
6 t Engelen sa til meg: «Disse ordene er troverdige og sanne. Herren, den Gud som gir profetene sin Ånd, har sendt sin engel for å vise sine tjenere det som snart skal skje.
7 t Og se, jeg kommer snart. Salig er den som tar vare på de profetiske ordene i denne boken.»
8 t Jeg, Johannes, er den som hørte og så alt dette. Da jeg hadde hørt og sett det, kastet jeg meg ned for føttene til engelen som hadde vist meg dette, og ville tilbe ham.
9 Men han sa til meg: «Gjør ikke det! Jeg er en tjener som du og dine søsken profetene og de som tar vare på ordene i denne boken. Gud skal du tilbe!»
10 t Så sa han til meg: «Sett ikke segl for de profetiske ord i denne boken! For tiden er nær.
11 t La den som gjør urett, fortsatt gjøre urett, og den urene fortsette i sin urenhet! La den rettferdige fortsatt gjøre det som er rett, og den hellige fortsette i helliggjørelse.
12 t Se, jeg kommer snart, og lønnen jeg vil gi, har jeg med meg. Jeg skal gjengjelde hver og en etter hans gjerning.
13 t Jeg er Alfa og Omega, den første og den siste, begynnelsen og enden.
14 t Salige er de som vasker sine kapper. De skal få rett til å spise av livets tre og gå gjennom portene inn i byen.
15 t Men utenfor er hundene og de som driver med trolldom, og de som driver hor, morderne, avgudsdyrkerne og alle som elsker løgn og taler løgn.
16 t t Jeg, Jesus, har sendt min engel for å vitne om dette for dere i menighetene. Jeg er Davids rotskudd og ætt, den klare morgenstjernen.»
17 t Ånden og bruden sier: «Kom!» Og den som hører det, skal si: «Kom!» Den som tørster, skal komme, og den som vil, skal få livets vann som gave.
18 t Jeg vitner for enhver som hører ordene i denne profetiske boken: Om noen legger noe til, skal Gud legge på ham de plagene som det er skrevet om i denne boken.
19 Og om noen trekker noe fra ordene i denne profetiske boken, skal Gud ta fra ham hans del i livets tre og i den hellige byen, som det er skrevet om i denne boken.
20 t t Han som vitner om dette, sier: «Ja, jeg kommer snart.»
Amen. Kom, Herre Jesus!
21 Herren Jesu nåde være med alle!
Revelation 22
1 Thent the angelt showed me the river of the water of life – water as clear as crystal – pouring outt from the throne of God and of the Lamb,2 flowing down the middle of the city’st main street.t On each sidet of the river is the tree of life producing twelve kindst of fruit, yielding its fruit every month of the year.t Its leaves are for the healing of the nations.3 And there will no longer be any curse,t and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city.t Hist servantst will worshipt him,4 and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
5 Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.
A Final Reminder
6 Thent the angelt said to me, “These words are reliablet and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servantst what must happen soon.”
7 (Look! I am coming soon!
Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy expressed in this book.)s
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things,t and when I heard and saw them,t I threw myself downt to worship at the feet of the angel who was showing them to me.9 Butt he said to me, “Do not do this!t I am a fellow servantt with you and with your brothers the prophets, and with those who obeyt the words of this book. Worship God!”10 Thent he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy contained in this book, because the time is near.
11 The evildoer must continue to do evil,t and the one who is morally filthyt must continue to be filthy. Thet one who is righteous must continue to act righteously, and the one who is holy must continue to be holy.”
12 (Look! I am coming soon,
and my reward is with me to payt each one according to what he has done!
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the first and the last,
the beginning and the end!)s
14 Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have accesst to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.
15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcererst and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood!t
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star!”t
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
18 I testify to the one who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues describedt in this book.
19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of lifes and in the holy city that are described in this book.
20 The one who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.s
