ΑΠΟΚΑΛΥΨΗ ΙΩΑΝΝΟΥ 22
1 Ύστερα ο *άγγελος μου έδειξε το ποτάμι με το ζωογόνο νερό, λαμπερό σαν κρύσταλλο, να αναβλύζει από το θρόνο του Θεού και του *Αρνίου. 2 Στη μέση της πλατείας, από ’δω κι από ’κει από το ποτάμι, ήταν το δέντρο της ζωής, που καρποφορεί δώδεκα φορές, μία κάθε μήνα, και που τα φύλλα του χρησιμεύουν για τη θεραπεία των εθνών. 3 Καμιά αφορμή για κατάρα δε θα υπάρχει πια εκεί. Ο θρόνος του Θεού και του Αρνίου θα βρίσκονται σ’ αυτήν, κι οι δούλοι του θα τον λατρεύουν. 4 Θα τον βλέπουν κατά πρόσωπο και θα ’χουν το όνομά του στα μέτωπά τους.
5 Νύχτα δε θα υπάρχει πια, και δε θα χρειάζεται το φως του λυχναριού ή του ήλιου, γιατί ο Κύριος ο Θεός θα φέγγει πάνω τους, και θα βασιλεύουν αιώνια.Ο ερχομός του Κυρίου
6 Ύστερα μου λέει ο άγγελος: «Τα λόγια αυτά είναι αληθινά κι άξια εμπιστοσύνης. Ο Κύριος ο Θεός, που με το *Πνεύμα του μίλησαν οι *προφήτες, έστειλε τον άγγελό του να δείξει στους δούλους του όσα είναι να γίνουν πολύ σύντομα».
7 «Ακούστε! Έρχομαι σύντομα», λέει ο Ιησούς. «Μακάριος είναι όποιος τηρεί τα προφητικά λόγια αυτού του βιβλίου».
8 Εγώ ο Ιωάννης τα άκουσα και τα είδα αυτά. Κι όταν τ’ άκουσα και τα είδα, έπεσα να προσκυνήσω μπροστά στα πόδια του αγγέλου που μου τα φανέρωσε. 9 Εκείνος όμως μου είπε: «Μην το κάνεις αυτό! Δούλος είμαι κι εγώ σαν εσένα και τους αδερφούς σου τους προφήτες, κι εκείνους που τηρούν τα λόγια αυτού του βιβλίου. Το Θεό να προσκυνήσεις». 10 Και συνέχισε: «Μην κρατήσεις τα προφητικά λόγια αυτού του βιβλίου μυστικά, γιατί ο καιρός που θα εκπληρωθούν είναι κοντά.
11 Ο άδικος ας συνεχίσει να αδικεί· ο *ακάθαρτος ας συνεχίσει τα βδελυρά έργα του. Ας συνεχίσει κι ο δίκαιος να κάνει το δίκαιο, κι ο *άγιος την αγιοσύνη του.
12 «Να, έρχομαι σύντομα», λέει ο Ιησούς, «και φέρνω μαζί μου την ανταμοιβή μου, για ν’ ανταποδώσω στον καθένα ανάλογα με τα έργα του.
13 Εγώ είμαι το Άλφα και το Ωμέγα, ο πρώτος και ο έσχατος, η αρχή και το τέλος».
14 Μακάριοι όσοι τηρούν τις εντολές του, για να έχουν δικαίωμα να φάνε από το δέντρο της ζωής και να περάσουν τις πύλες για να μπουν στην πολιτεία.
15 Έξω θα μείνουν όσοι είναι αδιάντροποι σαν τα σκυλιά, οι μάγοι, οι πόρνοι, οι φονιάδες, οι ειδωλολάτρες κι εκείνοι που τους αρέσει ν’ αντιστρατεύονται την αλήθεια.
16 «Εγώ, ο Ιησούς, έστειλα τον άγγελό μου να σας τα αναγγείλει αυτά στις εκκλησίες. Εγώ είμαι από τη ρίζα και τη γενιά του Δαβίδ, το *άστρο το λαμπερό, το πρωινό».
17 Το Πνεύμα και η νύφη λένε: «Έλα». Κι όποιος ακούει ας πει: «Έλα». Όποιος διψάει ας έρθει, όποιος θέλει ας πάρει δωρεάν το νερό της ζωής.Επίλογος
18 Εγώ, ο Ιωάννης, βεβαιώνω όλους όσοι ακούνε τα προφητικά λόγια αυτού του βιβλίου, πως αν κανείς προσθέσει κάτι σ’ όσα είναι γραμμένα εδώ, θα του προσθέσει κι ο Θεός τις συμφορές που είναι γραμμένες σ’ αυτό το βιβλίο.
19 Κι αν κανείς αφαιρέσει κάτι απ’ τα προφητικά λόγια αυτού του βιβλίου, θ’ αφαιρέσει κι ο Θεός το μερίδιό του από το δέντρο της ζωής κι από την άγια πόλη.
20 Αυτός που τα επιβεβαιώνει όλα αυτά λέει: «Ναι, έρχομαι σύντομα».
«*Αμήν· ναι, έλα, Κύριε Ιησού».
21 Η *χάρη του Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού να είναι με όλους τους πιστούς. Αμήν.
Revelation 22
1 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,2 in the midst of the street thereof. And on this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve manner of fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.3 And there shall be no curse any more: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be therein: and his servants shall serve him;4 and they shall see his face; and his name shall be on their foreheads.5 And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.6 And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angels to show unto his servants the things which must shortly come to pass.7 And behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book.8 And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things.9 And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren the prophets, and with them that keep the words of this book: worship God.10 And he saith unto me, Seal not up the words of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand.11 He that is unrighteous, let him do unrighteousness still: and he that is filthy, let him be made filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him do righteousness still: and he that is holy, let him be made holy still.12 Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is.13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.14 Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right to come to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.15 Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come. And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely.18 I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book:19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.20 He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus.21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with the saints. Amen.
