Åpenbaringen 22

Livets vann og livets tre

1 Og han viste meg en elv med livets vann, klar som krystall, som strømmet ut fra Guds og Lammets trone, s2 midt i byens gate. På begge sider av elven sto livets tre, som bærer frukt tolv ganger og gir sin frukt hver måned. Og bladene på treet tjener til helse for folkeslagene. s3 Det skal ikke lenger være noen forbannelse. Guds og Lammets trone skal være i byen, og hans tjenere skal tjene ham. s4 De skal se hans åsyn, og hans navn skal være på deres panner. s5 Natt skal ikke være mer, og de trenger ikke lys av lampe og lys av sol, for Gud Herren skal lyse over dem. Og de skal være konger i all evighet. ss

Salig er den som tror Guds ord

6 Og han sa til meg: Disse ordene er troverdige og sanne. Og Herren, den Gud som gir profetene sin Ånd, har sendt sin engel for å vise sine tjenere det som snart skal skje. s7 Se, jeg kommer snart! Salig er den som holder fast på de profetiske ordene i denne boken. s8 Og jeg, Johannes, er den som hørte og så disse tingene. Da jeg hadde hørt og sett, falt jeg ned for å tilbe ved føttene til den engelen som hadde vist meg alt dette. s9 Men han sa til meg: Vokt deg for det! Jeg er medtjener med deg og dine brødre profetene, og med dem som holder fast på ordene i denne boken. Gud skal du tilbe! s10 Og han sier til meg: Sett ikke segl for de profetiske ordene i denne boken! For tiden er nær. s11 La den som gjør urett, fortsatt gjøre urett, og la den urene fortsatt bli uren! Og la den rettferdige fortsatt gjøre rettferdighet, og la den hellige fortsatt bli helliggjort! s

Se, jeg kommer snart

12 Se, jeg kommer snart, og min lønn er med meg, for å gi enhver igjen etter som hans gjerning er. s13 Jeg er Alfa og Omega, den første og den siste, begynnelsen og enden. s14 Salige er de som vasker sine kapper, så de må få rett til livets tre, og til å gå gjennom portene inn i byen. s15 Men utenfor er hundene og trollmennene og de som driver hor og drapsmennene og avgudsdyrkerne og hver den som elsker og gjør løgn. s16 Jeg, Jesus, har sendt min engel for å vitne om dette for dere i menighetene. Jeg er Davids rot og ætt, den klare morgenstjerne. s

Kom, Herre Jesus

17 Og Ånden og bruden sier: Kom! Og den som hører det, la ham si: Kom! Og den som tørster, han får komme! Og den som vil, han får ta livets vann for intet! s

18 Jeg vitner for enhver som hører de profetiske ordene i denne boken: Dersom noen legger noe til dette, da skal Gud legge på ham de plagene som det er skrevet om i denne boken. 19 Og dersom noen tar noe bort fra ordene i denne profetiske boken, da skal Gud ta bort hans del fra livets tre og fra den hellige byen, som det er skrevet om i denne boken. s20 Han som vitner dette, sier: Ja, jeg kommer snart! Amen, ja kom, Herre Jesus! s21 Vår Herre Jesu Kristi nåde være med dere alle! Amen! s

Revelation 22

1 Thent the angelt showed me the river of the water of life – water as clear as crystal – pouring outt from the throne of God and of the Lamb,2 flowing down the middle of the city’st main street.t On each sidet of the river is the tree of life producing twelve kindst of fruit, yielding its fruit every month of the year.t Its leaves are for the healing of the nations.3 And there will no longer be any curse,t and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city.t Hist servantst will worshipt him,4 and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

5 Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.

A Final Reminder

6 Thent the angelt said to me, “These words are reliablet and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servantst what must happen soon.”

Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy expressed in this book.)s
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things,t and when I heard and saw them,t I threw myself downt to worship at the feet of the angel who was showing them to me.9 Butt he said to me, “Do not do this!t I am a fellow servantt with you and with your brothers the prophets, and with those who obeyt the words of this book. Worship God!”10 Thent he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy contained in this book, because the time is near.

11 The evildoer must continue to do evil,t and the one who is morally filthyt must continue to be filthy. Thet one who is righteous must continue to act righteously, and the one who is holy must continue to be holy.”

12 (Look! I am coming soon,
and my reward is with me to payt each one according to what he has done!

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the first and the last,
the beginning and the end!)s
14 Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have accesst to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.

15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcererst and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood!t
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star!”t

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
18 I testify to the one who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues describedt in this book.

19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of lifes and in the holy city that are described in this book.
20 The one who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.s
