APOCALISSE 3

1 E all'angelo della chiesa di Sardi scrivi: Queste cose dice colui che ha i sette Spiriti di Dio e le sette stelle: Io conosco le tue opere: tu hai nome di vivere e sei morto. 2 Sii vigilante e rafferma il resto che sta per morire; poiché non ho trovato le opere tue compiute nel cospetto del mio Dio. 3 Ricordati dunque di quanto hai ricevuto e udito; e serbalo, e ravvediti. Che se tu non vegli, io verrò come un ladro, e tu non saprai a quale ora verrò su di te. 4 Ma tu hai alcuni pochi in Sardi che non hanno contaminato le loro vesti; essi cammineranno meco in vesti bianche, perché ne son degni. 5 Chi vince sarà così vestito di vesti bianche, ed io non cancellerò il suo nome dal libro della vita, e confesserò il suo nome nel cospetto del Padre mio e nel cospetto dei suoi angeli. 6 Chi ha orecchio ascolti ciò che lo Spirito dice alle chiese. 7 E all'angelo della chiesa di Filadelfia scrivi: Queste cose dice il santo, il verace, colui che ha la chiave di Davide, colui che apre e nessuno chiude, colui che chiude e nessuno apre: 8 Io conosco le tue opere. Ecco, io ti ho posta dinanzi una porta aperta, che nessuno può chiudere, perché, pur avendo poca forza, hai serbata la mia parola, e non hai rinnegato il mio nome. 9 Ecco, io ti do di quelli della sinagoga di Satana, i quali dicono d'esser Giudei e non lo sono, ma mentiscono; ecco, io li farò venire a prostrarsi dinanzi ai tuoi piedi, e conosceranno ch'io t'ho amato. 10 Perché tu hai serbata la parola della mia costanza, anch'io ti guarderò dall'ora del cimento che ha da venire su tutto il mondo, per mettere alla prova quelli che abitano sulla terra. 11 Io vengo tosto; tieni fermamente quello che hai, affinché nessuno ti tolga la tua corona. 12 Chi vince io lo farò una colonna nel tempio del mio Dio, ed egli non ne uscirà mai più; e scriverò su lui il nome del mio Dio e il nome della città del mio Dio, della nuova Gerusalemme che scende dal cielo d'appresso all'Iddio mio, ed il mio nuovo nome. 13 Chi ha orecchio ascolti ciò che lo Spirito dice alle chiese. 14 E all'angelo della chiesa di Laodicea scrivi: Queste cose dice l'Amen, il testimone fedele e verace, il principio della creazione di Dio: 15 Io conosco le tue opere: tu non sei né freddo né fervente. Oh fossi tu pur freddo o fervente! 16 Così, perché sei tiepido, e non sei né freddo né fervente, io ti vomiterò dalla mia bocca. 17 Poiché tu dici: Io son ricco, e mi sono arricchito, e non ho bisogno di nulla e non sai che tu sei infelice fra tutti, e miserabile e povero e cieco e nudo, 18 io ti consiglio di comprare da me dell'oro affinato col fuoco, affinché tu arricchisca; e delle vesti bianche, affinché tu ti vesta e non apparisca la vergogna della tua nudità; e del collirio per ungertene gli occhi, affinché tu vegga. 19 Tutti quelli che amo, io li riprendo e li castigo; abbi dunque zelo e ravvediti. 20 Ecco, io sto alla porta e picchio: se uno ode la mia voce ed apre la porta, io entrerò da lui e cenerò con lui ed egli meco. 21 A chi vince io darò di seder meco sul mio trono, come anch'io ho vinto e mi son posto a sedere col Padre mio sul suo trono 22 Chi ha orecchio ascolti ciò che lo Spirito dice alle chiese.

REVELATION 3

The Letter to Sardis

1 This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Sardis:
I have the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. Listen to what I say.
I know what you are doing. Everyone may think you are alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! You have only a little strength left, and it is almost gone. So try to become stronger. I have found that you are not completely obeying God.

3 t Remember the teaching you were given and heard. Hold firmly to it and turn from your sins. If you don't wake up, I will come when you least expect it, just as a thief does.
4 A few of you in Sardis have not dirtied your clothes with sin. You will walk with me in white clothes, because you are worthy.

5 t Everyone who wins the victory will wear white clothes. Their names will not be erased from the book of life, t and I will tell my Father and his angels that they are my followers.

6 If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

The Letter to Philadelphia

7  t This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Philadelphia:
I am the one who is holy and true, and I have the keys that belonged to David.t When I open a door, no one can close it. And when I close a door, no one can open it. Listen to what I say.
8 I know everything you have done. And I have placed before you an open door no one can close. You were not very strong, but you obeyed my message and did not deny you are my followers.t

9 t Now you will see what I will do with those people who belong to Satan's group. They claim to be God's people, but they are liars. I will make them come and kneel down at your feet. Then they will know that I love you.
10 You obeyed my message and endured. So I will protect you from the time of testing everyone in all the world must go through.

11 I am coming soon. So hold firmly to what you have, and no one will take away the crown you will be given as your reward.

12  t Everyone who wins the victory will be made into a pillar in the temple of my God, and they will stay there forever. I will write on each of them the name of my God and the name of his city. It is the new Jerusalem my God will send down from heaven. I will also write on them my own new name.

13 If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

The Letter to Laodicea

14  t This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Laodicea:
I am the one called Amen!t I am the faithful and true witness and the sourcet of God's creation. Listen to what I say.
15 I know everything you have done, and you are not cold or hot. I wish you were either one or the other. 16 But since you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth.

17 You claim to be rich and successful and to have everything you need. But you don't know how bad off you really are. You are pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.

18 Buy your gold from me. It has been refined in a fire, and it will make you rich. Buy white clothes from me. Wear them and you can cover up your shameful nakedness. Buy medicine for your eyes, so you will be able to see.
19  t I correct and punish everyone I love. So make up your minds to turn away from your sins. 20 Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together.

21 Everyone who wins the victory will sit with me on my throne, just as I won the victory and sat with my Father on his throne.
22 If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
