تخت و تختنشین
1 پس از آن نظر کردم و اینک پیش رویم دری گشوده در آسمان بود، و همان صدایِ چون بانگ شیپور که نخست بار با من سخن گفته بود، دیگر بار گفت: «فراز آی، و من آنچه را بعد از این میباید واقع شود، بر تو خواهم نمود.»2 در دم در روح شدم و هان تختی پیش رویم در آسمان قرار داشت و بر آن تخت کسی نشسته بود.3 آن تختنشین، ظاهری چون سنگِ یشم و عقیق داشت و دور تا دور تخت را رنگینکمانی زمرّدگون فراگرفته بود.4 گرداگرد تخت، بیست و چهار تخت دیگر بود و بر آنها بیست و چهار پیر نشسته بودند. آنان جامۀ سفید بر تن داشتند و تاج طلا بر سر.5 و از تخت، برق آذرخش برمیخاست و غریو غرّش رعد. پیشاپیش تخت، هفت مشعلِ مشتعل بود. اینها هفت روحِt خدایند.
6 و پیش تخت، چیزی بود که به دریایی از شیشه میمانست، شفاف چون بلور.
در آن میان، در اطراف تخت، چهار موجود زنده بود، پوشیده از چشم، از پیش و از پس.7 موجود زندۀ اوّل، به شیر میمانست و موجود زندۀ دوّم به گوساله. سوّمی، صورت انسان داشت و چهارمی، چونان عقابی بود در پرواز.8 آنها هرکدام شش بال داشتند و دور تا دور، حتی زیر بالها، پوشیده از چشم بودند، و شبانهروز بیوقفه میگفتند:
«قدّوس، قدّوس، قدّوس است
خداوندْ خدای قادر مطلق،
او که بود و هست و میآید.»9 هر بار که آن موجودهای زنده، جلال و عزّت و سپاس نثار آن تختنشین میکنند که جاودانه زنده است،10 آن بیست و چهار پیر پیش روی تختنشین بر خاک میافتند و او را که جاودانه زنده است میپرستند و پیش تخت او تاج از سر فرومیگذارند و میگویند:11 «ای خداوندْ خدای ما،
تو سزاوار جلال و عزّت و قدرتی،
زیرا که آفریدگار همه چیز تویی
و همه چیز به خواست تو وجود یافت و به خواست تو آفریده شد.»
REVELATION 4
Worship in Heaven
1 After this, I looked and saw a door that opened into heaven. Then the voice that had spoken to me at first and that sounded like a trumpet said, “Come up here! I will show you what must happen next.” 2 t Right then the Spirit took control of me, and there in heaven I saw a throne and someone sitting on it.
3 The one who was sitting there sparkled like precious stones of jaspert and carnelian.t A rainbow that looked like an emeraldt surrounded the throne.
4 Twenty-four other thrones were in a circle around that throne. And on each of these thrones there was an elder dressed in white clothes and wearing a gold crown. 5 t Flashes of lightning and roars of thunder came out from the throne in the center of the circle. Seven torches, which are the seven spirits of God, were burning in front of the throne.
6 t t Also in front of the throne was something that looked like a glass sea, clear as crystal.
Around the throne in the center were four living creatures covered front and back with eyes. 7 The first creature was like a lion, the second one was like a bull, the third one had the face of a human, and the fourth was like a flying eagle.
8 t Each of the four living creatures had six wings, and their bodies were covered with eyes. Day and night they never stopped singing,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord,
the all-powerful God,
who was and is
and is coming!”
9 The living creatures kept praising, honoring, and thanking the one who sits on the throne and who lives forever and ever.
10 At the same time the 24 elders knelt down before the one sitting on the throne. And as they worshiped the one who lives forever, they placed their crowns in front of the throne and said,
11 t “Our Lord and God,
you are worthy
to receive glory,
honor, and power.
You created all things,
and by your decision they are
and were created.”
