Guds kongsstol og lammet

(Kap. 4–5)

Tilbeding i himmelen

1 Deretter hadde eg eit syn: Eg såg at det var opna ei dør inn til himmelen. Og den røysta eg før hadde høyrt tala med klang som ein basun, sa til meg: «Stig hit opp, så skal eg syna deg det som heretter skal henda.»t
2 I det same kom Anden over meg. Og sjå, i himmelen stod det ein kongsstol, og det sat ein på kongsstolen. t 3 Han som sat der, var å sjå til som jaspis og karneol, og kring kongsstolen var ein regnboge; han var som smaragd. t 4 I ein ring kring kongsstolen såg eg tjuefire andre stolar, og på dei sat tjuefire eldste, kledde i kvite klede og med gullkransar på hovudet. t 5 Frå kongsstolen gjekk det ut lyn og drønn og torebrak, og framfor stolen brann det sju faklar; det er dei sju Guds ånder. t

6 Framfor kongsstolen var det som eit glashav, likt krystall. Og kringom kongsstolen, midt på kvar side, var det fire skapningar. Dei hadde fullt av augo framme og bak.t
7 Den fyrste skapningen var lik ei løve, den andre var lik ein okse, den tredje hadde andlet som eit menneske, og den fjerde var lik ei ørn i flòg.

8 Kvar av dei fire skapningane hadde seks venger, og overalt hadde dei augo, både rundt om og under vengene. Natt og dag ropar dei, utan stans:t
Heilag, heilag, heilag
er Herren Gud, Den Allmektige,
han som var og som er ¬og som kjem.
9 Kvar gong dei fire skapningane prisar og hyllar og takkar han som sit på kongsstolen, han som lever i all æve,

10 fell dei tjuefire eldste ned for han som sit på stolen, og dei tilbed han som lever i all æve. Dei kastar kransane sine ned framfor kongsstolen og ropar:t

11 Verdig er du, vår Herre og Gud,
til å få all pris og ære og makt.
For du har skapt alle ting;
du ville det, og dei vart til, ¬skapte av deg. t

REVELATION 4

Worship in Heaven

1 After this, I looked and saw a door that opened into heaven. Then the voice that had spoken to me at first and that sounded like a trumpet said, “Come up here! I will show you what must happen next.” 2 t Right then the Spirit took control of me, and there in heaven I saw a throne and someone sitting on it.

3 The one who was sitting there sparkled like precious stones of jaspert and carnelian.t A rainbow that looked like an emeraldt surrounded the throne.
4 Twenty-four other thrones were in a circle around that throne. And on each of these thrones there was an elder dressed in white clothes and wearing a gold crown. 5 t Flashes of lightning and roars of thunder came out from the throne in the center of the circle. Seven torches, which are the seven spirits of God, were burning in front of the throne.

6 t t Also in front of the throne was something that looked like a glass sea, clear as crystal.
Around the throne in the center were four living creatures covered front and back with eyes. 7 The first creature was like a lion, the second one was like a bull, the third one had the face of a human, and the fourth was like a flying eagle.

8 t Each of the four living creatures had six wings, and their bodies were covered with eyes. Day and night they never stopped singing,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord,
the all-powerful God,
who was and is
and is coming!”
9 The living creatures kept praising, honoring, and thanking the one who sits on the throne and who lives forever and ever.

10 At the same time the 24 elders knelt down before the one sitting on the throne. And as they worshiped the one who lives forever, they placed their crowns in front of the throne and said,

11  t “Our Lord and God,
you are worthy
to receive glory,
honor, and power.
You created all things,
and by your decision they are
and were created.”
